Dave Chappelle, mastermind behind sketch comedy goldmine Chappelle's Show, made a triumphant return to stand-up comedy in 2013. While he's beloved for his famous impersonations of Rick James and Prince, Chappelle doesn't rely on old material for his stand-up act, treating fans to an all-original show featuring extensive improvisation as he interacts with audiences. At his 2013 performances on The Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival, which he co-headlined with Flight of the Conchords, Chappelle had fans rolling on the floor, building anticipation for his highly coveted 2014 tour dates.

Born David Khari Webber Chappelle in Washington, D.C., Dave Chappelle studied theatre arts in high school before moving to New York City to pursue standup comedy. Despite getting booed off stage at the Apollo Theater's infamous "Amateur Night," he remained resilient, going on to make a name for himself on the New York comedy circuit. Following several successful film appearances in the '90s, including a starring role in 1998 cult classic Half Baked, Chappelle debuted his namesake sketch comedy show on Comedy Central in 2003, finding both critical and commercial success. In 2006 he released Dave Chappelle's Block Party, a concert film set in Brooklyn featuring performances by Kanye West, The Roots, and a temporarily-reunited Fugees.

I hate that Dave locked up our phones, because there were SO MANY moments I wish I could watch again!!! The opening comedians were hilarious. The documentary was well done, albeit hard to watch & remember how difficult 2020 was for a lot of us. Then came the “after party”….. Dave did a brief set before introducing Justin Bieber, who brought out Usher during his 3rd song! Usher then blessed us with a mini concert himself, ending with Dave doing an old school singalong. BEST SHOW EVER!!!
The screening was amazing, entertaining, emotional, and more. I was reluctant initially because it was just a screening in my mind that would be released on a larger platform another day. Also, it was on a Sunday and I work 9-5 M-F. However, it was well worth it!! He also brought out Artist and it turned into concerts. Just overall great time!
The Dj was awesome, played old school hip hop , his job was to pump up the crowd. Multiple comedians, Jeff Ross was absolutely amazing (could of been edibles kicking in). Movie was warm, funny , sad but if your a Chapelle fan you will love it. Then Dave came on stage, not for entire set but enough to say, i seen Chapelle. Then Justin Bieber showed up and preformed, than Usher came out and preformed. The crowd went wild. It was a great show and fun night.
Spent 6 hours at the Target Center in Minneapolis Sunday night. Show started off with some comic openers including Jeff Ross who roasted crowd members on Stage. Followed by screening of Dave’s documentary is incredible. Dave did some jokes/speaking followed by a music performance (which we knew there would be but didn’t know who would be performing). Dave introduces Justin Bieber to the stage followed by Usher. The two each had their own small set followed by a song or two together. Dave didn’t want the night to end so he was on stage with Justin and Usher doing a impromptu jam session with various songs by Price and others. Best ticket purchase I ever made.
I’ve only been following Chappelle for the past few years. This show was so much more than the documentary, which alone was amazing. Three comedians and two huge musicians (Usher and J. Bieber) was awesome but Chappelle had a bigger message that took time to reveal itself. This was an event that promoted love thy neighbor. Chappelle isn’t a signer but he had the balls to tap a couple of songs and jam with Usher and Bieber. It was probably the best shows I’ve been too because I left reflecting on many social issues and appreciation for the differences of others.
This was the best show I ever been to, there was comedy, a documentary and a music concert… this was EPIC!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you Dave!! This is just what we all needed 😊
Went to see a stand up performance but Chapelle didnt even do any. Hour long of a boring documentary and then turned into a concert instead.

I loved every bit of this event! Was very very happy to see luenell perform I’ve been wanting to see her forever. The screening was very power and the surprise guests were wonderful.
The screening was very enlighten and moving. The special guest were the topping on the night. Definitely got our money worth for the night out. Great job would go again
I came into this event thinking it would just be a low key movie screening and panel type event, but I was so wrong, it was so much more. I don’t think I have ever held so many emotions in a five hour period. The show was one of the top five events in my life hands down, I cried, I laughed, I laughed until I cried, I was in shock and felt so much joy. Not only was the event amazing, but the staff were great too, super efficient, no long waits in line and I have a disability and they were so respectful and courteous. I would go to this event all over again if I could. I almost didn’t go as I have been doing poorly medically, but so glad my friend convinced me to go. Again, the experience of a lifetime.
I have always loved Dave Chapelle and have even more love and RESPECT for him now. He came and showed out! Gave us love here in MLPS. And I felt the passion he has in everything he said and did on that stage. THANK YOU FOR A GREAT NIGHT Dave, Ush, and Bieb!!
I Dave Chapelle did not disappoint! A DJ, two comedians, a documentary, Dave Chapelle and music! Way way moreEntertainment than I expected. And surprisingly one of my favorite parts was everyone had to surrender the use of their cell phones for the entire show. I am not a hater but it was great to have everyone in the moment and not be distracted I was social media. Epic night for sure
All the comics were hilarious. Awesome surprises. All around eclectic evening. Dave Chapelle is the man!!!
The most natural and comfortable atmosphere I’ve ever experienced. Dave Chappelle is truly our modern day Socrates with his insightful words and charismatic personality. The screening and performance of Chappelle was a treat to watch. Thank you!
A little bit of comedy, tragedy and music. Somehow Dave made the experience intimate despite having my seat in section 240. Loved every minute of it.
I love Dave and was excited to see him perform in person. Dave did not perform any stand up. A documentary was played about the pandemic, no jokes were told. When it says screening, that’s exactly what it is. I wanted some raw Chappelle. People were sleeping in my section during the show. Best thing about the show was the 2 surprise performers. Reasons for 4 stars would’ve been 3.
What a great experience! From the special comedic guests, Luenall, Jeff Ross and the documentary to the surprise musical guests Usher & Justin Bieber and then of course Dave Chappelle himself . Phenomenal!!! Also, I appreciated the safety measures taken place and the communication of them.
