About

Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood on Tour

The beloved Daniel Tiger and his many sweet and silly friends from the Neighborhood of Make-Believe come to life in this mesmerizing interactive musical tour. Since premiering in 2012, the No. 1 PBS Kids TV series Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood has transferred the magic of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood into its own animated hit.

The show stars Daniel, the son of Mom Tiger and Dad Tiger, along with the children of other neighborhood families, including O the Owl, Katerina Kittycat, Miss Elaina, and Prince Wednesday, as well as Mister Rogers' famous red Trolley, who takes them all through the Neighborhood of Make-Believe. Just like Fred Rogers so humbly did with his own iconic children's series, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood teaches the importance of respect, empathy, friendship, and communication, all with plenty of fun and humor sprinkled throughout.

Soon after the show became a success on the small screen, it was given a makeover for the stage with the touring production Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood LIVE! Daniel and his friends (plus a few "surprise guests") make their way around the colorful neighborhood — to his school and house, the bakery and Music Man Stan's Music Shop — singing, dancing, and spreading their kindness all around. The fun is nonstop and the lighting and set design make for a bright and vibrant show — it truly feels like the animated characters have hopped right out of your television screen.

In 2017, the production returned with a brand-new story, in which Daniel becomes King for a Day and learns what's most important in his rise to the top: kindness. Audiences are encouraged to sing along and interact with all their favorite characters as their hometown theater becomes transformed into the enchanted Neighborhood of Make-Believe. The whole show runs for one hour and 15 minutes with a 15-minute intermission. It's the perfect way to introduce young children to the music and magic of live theater, all while learning some valuable lessons.

  • low budget production

by parisss on 10/25/16Comerica Theatre - PhoenixRating: 3 out of 5

This was a very low-budget production three of the characters played all of Daniel's neighborhood characters... I guess kids don't know the difference I took my one year old and she really enjoyed it. Don't have high expectations

by DLJohns on 10/24/16Abraham Chavez Theatre - El PasoRating: 1 out of 5

The El Paso show had extremely POOR production. The audio was absolutely TERRIBLE which is very surprising as the venue has excellent acoustics. We were very disappointed. The ticket prices were very expensive in comparison to comprable shows. Would not recommend. We left at the intermission as did dozens of others.

  • Wasted my Money

by NMProud on 10/21/16Abraham Chavez Theatre - El PasoRating: 1 out of 5

I paid about $200 for a show that had horrible sound!! Kids were agitated and screaming because they could not hear. Didn't they do a sound check prior to the show!!??!! I take my daughter to all the kid shows(ten years between both my kids) and this was the only one I have ever regretted buying tickets for.

  • Pricey, but kids loved it.

by WayOverpaid on 10/21/16Abraham Chavez Theatre - El PasoRating: 4 out of 5

It was way overpriced for the actual production quality. Sound was not quality and neither were actors. But my kids loved it and that's what is important. Of course merchandising was way overpriced as well.

  • Disappointing. Not worth the ticket cost.

Overall It was cute and the actors did a good job portraying the cartoon. However the audio was so horrible. There was a terrible echo throughout the show so we couldn't understand much of what the actors were saying while talking in dialogue. The only thing we could understand was the songs however the background music was so high and the actors were drawn out due to that. I was hoping the stage crew would realize this during intermission lion and fix this however nothing was fixed and even half of the audience was gone by intermission. At the beginning Daniel tigers head wasn't "clipped" on correctly on his right side and it was visible. While the actors were trying to fix it throughout the beginning of the show I was just worried that his head would pop off and all these kids would be devastated. I am glad it didn't. Not worth the $$.

  • Great for kids who can focus!

This show is a favorite in our household so we were excited to take our 2 year old. The great part was that all the kids were fairly young and so the loud, up and down atmosphere in the theater was no problem. Costumes are quite different than the show - not mascot style (except Daniel Tiger) but creepily human crossovers for each animal. Our son barely noticed, though. It's an hour before intermission, then a way too long intermission with no snacks for kids or adults, then another half hour. We would have loved a straight through performance; that said, our son is on the young age of what we would recommend see this performance so overall it gets and A+

  • Low Quality Performance

by TeeKaye on 10/12/16McFarlin Auditorium - DallasRating: 1 out of 5

I was very disappointed initially to see that a lot of the characters were not in full costume, but only in partial costumes with their faces out. Also the sound was off for the first half of the show forcing them to take what I guess was an impromptu intermission. We couldn't hear some of the characters say their lines at all or even hear their parts in the songs that they were singing. Lastly I think the venue choice was very poor because it was very crowded and very hard to walk around in, also the sound from the audience echoed a lot in the auditorium causing us to hear screaming and crying babies over the actual show. I was just disappointed overall and do not feel the money we paid for our tickets was worth it at all.

  • Great show but the long intermission ruined it.

    by balooga57 on 10/12/16McFarlin Auditorium - DallasRating: 3 out of 5

The first part of the show was so good. Our great nephew had so much fun. The intermission however lasted way too long. Most of the kids in the auditorium were getting very antsy. We had to leave before the show started again. You can't make little kids wait 25 minutes. Also, bad venue with the horrible parking situation.

  • Wonderful show!

by Busyparents on 10/11/16McFarlin Auditorium - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

We took our three and a half year old and 18 month old kids to watch this show. They both enjoyed it and are huge Daniel Tiger fans. The show was pretty much the higlights of various episodes aired on tv. So, the familiarity was a welcome bonus. We recommend the show!

  • If your child loves Daniel Tiger GO!!!!

by Ggrantg on 10/11/16McFarlin Auditorium - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

This was such a cute show. My 2 year old loves Daniel tigger and he loves this show! Cried when it was over :( I would see this again!!! I normally don't like kid productions because they are cheesy but this one was not! I wish they had a DVD or cd of the show.

Really disappointing. My 3.5 year old who LOVES Daniel Tiger was bored to tears.

  • Great Production for Little Ones Who Live Close

    by ToddlerMom27648 on 10/11/16McFarlin Auditorium - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

The sets, costumes, dancing, and singing were very entertaining for the kids. I thought it was well put together. It did seem short coming in close to 45-50 minutes especially considering the 50 minute drive both ways. Our two year old really enjoyed it but was sad it was over. The venue parking at McFarlin Auditorium was not good. We will most likely avoid events here in the future.

  • Really fun and engaging show for kids 2-5

by MomOfFourLittles on 10/11/16McFarlin Auditorium - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

We took our 5 y/o, 3 y/o, and 2 y/o -- and they all three really enjoyed the show and were captivated by it. There is enough going on throughout the show to keep the kids' attention. There was an issue with the timing of the microphones... so we missed a lot of lines from the actors, but Daniel Tiger's voice must have been pre-recorded because it was spot on. It was fun hearing all the different songs from previous shows -- made it familiar to the kids, even though they'd never seen the performance before. The "feel" of the show was very reminiscent of the actual Daniel Tiger show, and the props were well done and fun to look at.

  • Daniel Tiger is.......Daniel Tiger

by Showgeek on 5/25/16Florida Theatre Jacksonville - JacksonvilleRating: 4 out of 5

Kids loved this show. Thought it was a little short for the price. But they were happy.

  • Low budget high price

by Jeffrizzle on 5/25/16Florida Theatre Jacksonville - JacksonvilleRating: 1 out of 5

Very very low budget. Costumes were mediocre, same 6 actors, no set changes (just rearrangements). Poor quality for price of ticket.

  • Daniel Tiger: Music TOO LOUD

by Alabamatrip on 5/25/16Florida Theatre Jacksonville - JacksonvilleRating: 3 out of 5

This was a family trip including a 4 year old who loves Daniel Tiger and Katerina. Sadly, we left early because the sound was SO loud that it hurt our ears. You know it is TOO loud when the 4 year old covers her ears and begs to leave because her ears hurt. When we left, we could still hear it across the street and into the parking lot. Honestly, I've been to quieter rock concerts. I understand that the sound techs probably have it a little loud because of all the crying babies in the audience, BUT it was SOOO loud, my ears were ringing. We joked that our ears were probably bleeding. Katerina was very difficult to understand. She just sounded like she was whining the entire time. Note to parents of infants--this show is over 1 hr. Too long for babies. Please be considerate and remove crying children from the auditorium.
