Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood on Tour

The beloved Daniel Tiger and his many sweet and silly friends from the Neighborhood of Make-Believe come to life in this mesmerizing interactive musical tour. Since premiering in 2012, the No. 1 PBS Kids TV series Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood has transferred the magic of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood into its own animated hit.

The show stars Daniel, the son of Mom Tiger and Dad Tiger, along with the children of other neighborhood families, including O the Owl, Katerina Kittycat, Miss Elaina, and Prince Wednesday, as well as Mister Rogers' famous red Trolley, who takes them all through the Neighborhood of Make-Believe. Just like Fred Rogers so humbly did with his own iconic children's series, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood teaches the importance of respect, empathy, friendship, and communication, all with plenty of fun and humor sprinkled throughout.

Soon after the show became a success on the small screen, it was given a makeover for the stage with the touring production Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood LIVE! Daniel and his friends (plus a few "surprise guests") make their way around the colorful neighborhood — to his school and house, the bakery and Music Man Stan's Music Shop — singing, dancing, and spreading their kindness all around. The fun is nonstop and the lighting and set design make for a bright and vibrant show — it truly feels like the animated characters have hopped right out of your television screen.

In 2017, the production returned with a brand-new story, in which Daniel becomes King for a Day and learns what's most important in his rise to the top: kindness. Audiences are encouraged to sing along and interact with all their favorite characters as their hometown theater becomes transformed into the enchanted Neighborhood of Make-Believe. The whole show runs for one hour and 15 minutes with a 15-minute intermission. It's the perfect way to introduce young children to the music and magic of live theater, all while learning some valuable lessons.

  • Become the age you are taking

We took a 2 year old and he had a blast! Why did he have a blast? Because we became 2 year olds ourselves. The show is too long for toddlers and has a 15 minute intermission. We left after the first half and it was perfect t. It was honestly a little too loud. The costumes were creepy looking too. None of that matters though because our kid had a great time and that is what this was all about. Know thyself and know thy child if you plan on going to this.

  • So disappointing!

by Ciaramom on 11/12/16McCaw Hall - SeattleRating: 2 out of 5

It was so hard to hear and understand the characters. Storyline was lame. Why have an intermission with young kids in audience who can't sit that long?!

  • Show was good but overpriced

    by LaurenM21 on 11/12/16McCaw Hall - SeattleRating: 3 out of 5

The show was slightly entertaining but it was quite overpriced per each ticket. My son (almost 3) was only marginally entertained, which was a little disappointing and why I thought the tickets should have been cheaper.

This was so much fun! Our 10 month old son LOVED it!

  • Loud and Interesting.

by KDnMD on 11/12/16McCaw Hall - SeattleRating: 3 out of 5

My 3 year old liked it. He mentioned how loud it was and I agree. It was loud and we were on the floor level almost back row. The only voice we had trouble hearing was Katarina Kitty Cats. Sometimes she spoke too fast and high pitched that we could understand what she was saying. Otherwise my kid grasped the concept of the story. The show started 15 min after the start time. Intermission could have been soon. We'd probably go again if my toddler wanted, but I won't be telling my other parent friends that this was a MUST see.

  • Not at par with the actual show

by Redsim on 11/12/16McCaw Hall - SeattleRating: 2 out of 5

Absolutely poor acting by all the characters. Their costumes were great up until the neck. They were using the head that actually revealed their own face. It was not a full face costume with a complete head that mascots would use in a sports event. Daniel tiger was the only one with a mascot like head. Kids were confused when they saw human face popping out of other characters. Actors were not speaking clearly and kids could barely understand them. Overall it was a poorly directed performance.

  • Very disappointed

by Anonymous on 11/8/16Flint Center - CupertinoRating: 1 out of 5

I'm sorry. I would have liked to say something positive but the whole thing was a rip off. Very loud music and acoustics, very boring repetitive story line that was not even ties together. very poor production and setting. You'd have thought that something like this would have a better budget. the theater was packed with grown up and kids who had purchased a ticket but were too young to sit in a seat by themselves. My granddaughter loves Daniel and friends ( I introduced her to him just like her dad watched Mr.Rogers) but to sum up our disappointment we left during the intermission. Could not take it anymore.

  • Great show

by Mathgal11 on 11/8/16William Saroyan Theatre Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center - FresnoRating: 5 out of 5

This was great for our 2 year old. He loved seeing trolly scroll across the wall before the show started. If this is your little ones first show, get your camera ready to take a picture of their face when the curtains open...such an exciting and wonderful explosion of color and music. I wish I had captured the look on my little guys face in a pic...seeing his expression is something I will never forget. Pay for the VIP ticket to get a meet and greet after the show.

  • Daniel Tiger fun, but too loud!

    by TigerMom8 on 11/7/16Flint Center - CupertinoRating: 3 out of 5

The sound at this venue (Flint Center in Cupertino, CA) was so loud it hurt my toddler's ears & we were sitting pretty far back. He kept complaining and moving around. There were some kids screaming because it was too loud. It was too loud for my husband, 6 year old daughter, & me, too. Our kids still had fun, but I thought the show could have been more engaging. It was just a live version of one of the TV episodes basically. There wasn't any audience interaction except when one of the characters went around in the audience holding some colorful lights. Maybe this is still new & they need to work out the kinks. Hopefully, the show will get better. I'm willing to give it another shot when my baby is old enough to watch a show.

  • My daughter's face was priceless!!

by Loveally on 11/7/16Flint Center - CupertinoRating: 5 out of 5

My daughter loved the show!!!!! She LOVES Daniel Tiger! I could not believe she stayed still and enjoyed the show! She even eventually had to get out of her seat to dance to the music! The play was great, the actor's were great as well! Really do recommend it if your little one loves Daniel Tiger!

  • Horrible - left at intermission

by Anonymous on 11/7/16Flint Center - CupertinoRating: 1 out of 5

The kids in the crowd were really excited to see Daniel Tiger, but there wasn't much beyond that. No one was engaged during the show. Our toddler was so bored we just left.

  • Great time for all!

by SFMommyofTwo on 11/7/16Flint Center - CupertinoRating: 5 out of 5

Both my sons are fans of Daniel Tiger. As a parent, I have always found the PBS program to be informative and wholesome. Since we live in San Francisco, I wasn't sure the show would be worth the drive but it was fantastic! My kids absolutely loved it. They sang all their favorite songs and my youngest swayed and danced to the music. I wish they had the show in San Francisco. I would definitely see it again!

  • Cute but Cheap

    by ERS77 on 11/7/16Flint Center - CupertinoRating: 3 out of 5

My biggest complaint is with the cost of tickets and amount of shows, they really could have cast enough people so that actors did not have to double up on characters. Miss Elena was not in the school scene because she had to be the teacher. It would have been nice to be able to have everyone on the stage together. O the Owl was also Music Man Stan. I am not sure if the parents were doubled up also, they were really only in the beginning. Overall it was cute and my daughter enjoyed it I just feel with the amount they are making in tickets they could have spent a little more on the show.

  • Good for kids...

by Anonymous on 11/7/16Flint Center - CupertinoRating: 3 out of 5

The kids enjoyed it. But I found most previous bad reviews to be accurate. The sound was quite loud (although I think this may be intentional to drown out the crowds of kids in various states of happy screaming, upset screaming, etc) but a little lower would have been as effective and probably would cause a little less screaming from scared kids. The actor that played Daniel was good and true to character, but wow, the actor who played Daniel's Dad, Prince Wednesday, (and a variety of other characters) was shockingly bad. It was as if he has never once watched the TV show (or acted professionally, for that matter!) Anyway, the bottom line is our kid (2 1/2) enjoyed it, and older kids seemed to really love it. So that's what matters. For a bit more than twice the cost of a movie ticket, I think it was worth the experience and we are glad we went.

  • Great perfoemance

This was such a great performance. So much fun, singing and dancing!

  • Great for kids

    by MamaIza6 on 11/7/16Flint Center - CupertinoRating: 4 out of 5

My 2 and 4 year old both sat with open mouths through the whole performance. Nicely done!

  • Too loud

by boredinsc on 11/7/16Flint Center - CupertinoRating: 3 out of 5

It was cute, but the sound was so loud that both my kids started crying and asking to leave. We didn't make it to intermission.

  • Grandchildren's delight!

by wonderfultheater on 11/2/16Fox Performing Arts Center - RiversideRating: 4 out of 5

My husband and I took our two granddaughters age 2 and 7. They loved every moment! Even the two year old who is very active sat and watched the whole thing and never asked to leave. The 7 yr. old sang and smiled the entire time! The theater was old and beautiful too. I loved it!

  • Daniel Tiger was not worth the money

by DisappointedKIDDOS on 10/27/16Abraham Chavez Theatre - El PasoRating: 1 out of 5

We recently attended the Daniel Tiger show and it was NOT good! It was a low funded production. Not to sure if Daniel Tiger brought their stuff or if they used the Abraham Chavez equipment. TERRIBLE Audio quality, hard to understand what characters where saying, hard to follow script, and visual displays were of poor quality. For the price we paid $40+ at ticket it was not worth the money that I spent!! Do NOT waste your money on this show!

  • Disappointment

    by Mommyof2tigercubs on 10/25/16Comerica Theatre - PhoenixRating: 1 out of 5

My 2 year old was so excited to see Daniel Tiger Live. The show started 20minutes late and then went to a 15min intermission after 40min of show. It was already hard enough to entertain a 2 year old for over 20 minutes waiting for the show to start and then to add an intermission was frustrating. He was bored after about 20 minutes of the show. I only saw about 10 kids on the floor dancing to the music. There was no interaction between the characters and the audience. All the action was between the characters on the stage. For the price of the show for 2 adults and a ticket child, I was very disappointed and so was my little guy. I will happily continue to spend our entertainment funds on local arts and theater.
