    Great experience

by LADY J on 3/6/23Morgan State University - Murphy Fine Arts Center - Baltimore

This was an excellent investment of time and money! I so appreciated how due to the rain the curtain was held so those traveling/parking/in line for doors were given an opportunity not to miss anything and fair for the artist as well. I cannot wait until next years performance. Bravo Dance Theater of Harlem 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

    Venue needs improvement

by Ijh100 on 3/6/23Morgan State University - Murphy Fine Arts Center - Baltimore

Performance was stellar - however the venue fell very short . Tickets could advise which level to go to rather than waiting in a line on main level to be told to go to another level. Performance was delayed 30 min related to weather, parking and patrons getting to their seats. Not impressed.

    Great Time

by XANNY on 3/6/23Morgan State University - Murphy Fine Arts Center - Baltimore

The show was a 1st for my 3-year-old granddaughter who loves ballet. She was so excited about the entire show. She even met a lot of people who could believe how much she enjoyed the show. We all had a great time and this was truly an experience that she will never forget.

Polished professionals. Excellent choreograpy & performance

    by F. B. on 11/13/22Centennial Hall - Tucson

Would have liked the entire cast to be in curtain call. They worked so hard, they deserved the applause and standing O. My only other criticism is of the venue: - Even in the 6th row, I couldn't see because of a tall man in front of me. The slope of the floor is inadequate to compensate for this situation, which happens a lot. - With the music was louder than the lyrics and the current sound system, I couldn't make out the words to most of the songs -- and I don't have a hearing problem.

    Amazing show!

by Bean Dancer on 11/13/22Centennial Hall - Tucson

I brought my mom to this performance for her birthday, and we loved it. The dancers are incredibly talented, the choreography was innovative and exciting, and the lighting and costuming enhanced the work. This was a wonderful way to celebrate my mom's special day. Thank you, DTH!

    World class

by Jay on 11/13/22Centennial Hall - Tucson

The dancers are world class and the choreography and costumes perfection. I make a point to see Dance Theatre of Harlem whenever I can and am never disappointed. The art and creativity and ability to share their message is so clear that it involves my total attention and thought. I wish they had another performance the next day. I would have attended again and brought more friends to experience this wonderful event.

Incredible performances and music and lighting!!!

by Ana on 11/13/22Centennial Hall - Tucson

Dance Theater of Harlem was gorgeous costumes on extremely skilled, beautiful dancers. The music choices, choreography and lighting were exceptional. Complaint is about ORCH seats not hard and not being staggered, so the afro in front of me blocked my view, unless I uncomfortably strained on edge of my seat to look over top of her head. Centennial Hall needs to replace with new seats, and an expert place them, for each viewer to see stage. But watching these dancers was still amazing and enjoyable.

    The Beautiful People

by Kendeezy on 11/13/22Centennial Hall - Tucson

The visuals and lighting was amazing - the colors added so much to the experience. The Black professional ballet dancers were outstanding! I LOVED the traditional ballet dance AND the dancing in “the club,” and most importantly, the messaging with the music of Stevie Wonder

    A Must See

by Ev on 11/13/22Centennial Hall - Tucson

Dance Theater of Harlem was truly inspirational and innovative. The dancing was a blend of classical ballet and modern interpretation. You do not even have to like dance to be touched by their performance.

    Fantastic dance and music!

by Steph on 11/8/22Paramount Theatre - Seattle

Such an amazing show, fantastic dancing, a variety of great music (including music from Stevie Wonder)! Three pieces with two intermissions in between. The tribute to Hazel Scott was particularly touching. And it's just great to be able to see live dance in a theater again!

    Great performance! Terrible traffic control.

by kageemd on 11/26/19Morgan State University - Murphy Fine Arts Center - Baltimore

Loved every moment of performance and the venue. However, parking access, both arriving and departing, sucked! Needed a few bodies to help direct traffic.

    Phenomenal

by Big Al on 11/26/19Morgan State University - Murphy Fine Arts Center - Baltimore

The entire night was great. Out of the entire evening, the only thing that happened that I wasn't use to was the show started a little late. Being one that frequent plays and shows in New York City as well as here in the Washington DC area, about 95% of the time the shows started on time. Every dancer, all the music, and the production was breathtaking. I'd go see it again and again.

    Outstanding performance!

by SLW on 11/26/19Morgan State University - Murphy Fine Arts Center - Baltimore

The first half of the show is more of the classical ballet; then it gets totally lit with a ballet performance with a twist of jazz, modern and hip-hop to songs by legendary artists like Aretha Franklin and James Brown! OMG it was fire!

    Ethereal

by Lover of the Arts on 11/26/19Morgan State University - Murphy Fine Arts Center - Baltimore

Breathtaking, precision and fluid are just a few words that describe the wonderful evening of entertainment. The ballet choreography was rhythmic, seemingly complex as well as majestically & beautifully executed. The ballet dancers skilled with their own style which made every move organic. The melaninated hues of each dancer against the vibrant and colorful costumes brought about a beautiful cornucopia of visual pleasantries. I found it a nice touch to add a bit of current dance trends in the show as an ode to James Brown and Aretha Franklin was part of the finale. I was in awe at the Dance Theatre of Harlem ballet dancers and know exactly why they have been around for 50 years.
