My husband and I had an amazing time seeing the Dance Theater of Harlem in Memphis. It was our first time seeing them and they put on a great performance. Between the music and costumes and especially the dancing, we had an unforgettable time!

It was an excellent combination of classical and R and B music.

  • Lovvvvved it!

by Barb7777 on 8/7/24Tilles Center Concert Hall - BrookvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Just fabulous! The women were lovely and graceful and elastic and the men were muscular, athletic, did beautiful jumps and were a delight to watch, which I don't usually think. It draws you in from the beginning and never lets you go.

Wonderful story telling from the narrator. Beautiful choreography from cast definitely gave a city and country vibe. I literally had chills and there was nothing like seeing the soul line done at the iconic Apollo theater.

  • Extraordinary Moment

by Grandma G on 5/21/24The Apollo's Historic Theater - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

This awesome memory is forever imbedded in my mind. This production was so rich in Harlem’s culture it did Harlemites proud. With each dancer’s leap, spin and jump I found myself (in my minds eye) twisting and turning. I was blown away with the Fireflies performance and costumes. The Harlem Hospital performance made me shout out “I was born there!” It was a genius move to close this breath taking experience with honoring the Apollo with James Brown’s Superbad. Yes DTH you are Superbly Bad!

  • Harlem Mouse - Country Mouse Pure Magic

by Lynn on 5/21/24The Apollo's Historic Theater - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

The performance was a complete delight. The young dancers were well trained, the Harlem Mouse & the Country Mouse were exceptional! Second Act was thrilling. The creativity of the choreography, the poem, music & lighting created a few hours of pure magic. Congratulations to the professional company members who added dazzling dancing and good clean fun to the performance. I hope this will be an annual event!

by Twalker on 5/7/24Chrysler Hall - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5

This show deserves 10 stars. It’s never a disappointment. I make it a point to attend every year or every time they come. I tell others about so that they will hopefully get a chance to experience the joy and beautiful performances. I will never tire of seeing my beautiful brothers and sisters no matter what ethnicity they are showcase their talent and hard work. They are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fascinating Performances of all 20 dancers.

by Honey on 5/7/24Chrysler Hall - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5

Outstanding presentation and hard work shown with grace and proficiency! One suggestion is in between sets, someone let us know. After the Stevie Wonder presentation 30 minutes, some didn't know what to expect because the lights came on before intermission or pause . Some folks walked out while we aligned the booklet to know the order of the 4 sets on May 4th

  • Best show ever!

by Ken s on 2/18/24Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

Forst our seats were great. The crowd was great, there was no one talking or getting up during the performance. And the performance was stupendous. It rivals if not exceeds Milwaukee Ballet. I am impressed. I am glad I decided to attend.
