Dallas Mavericks History
The Mavericks joined the NBA as an expansion franchise in the 1980–81 season, becoming the league’s third team in Texas, joining the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets. The Mavericks struggled in their inaugural season, but quickly improved with Mark Aguirre, who became the franchise's first All-Star and took the team to their first playoff series in the 1983–84 season. The Mavericks went on to qualify for the playoffs for four more consecutive seasons, culminating in a trip to the Western Conference Finals in 1987–88. They came within one win of the NBA Finals, losing to the Lakers in seven games.
Dallas struggled throughout the '90s, but a new era began when the Mavericks acquired Dirk Nowitzki in 1998. Ownership of the team was sold to Mark Cuban in January of 2000. Cuban immediately began to revitalize the franchise, building around a central trio of Nowitzki, point guard Steve Nash and wing Michael Finley. In Cuban's inaugural year owning the Mavericks, they made the playoffs for the first time in 11 years. This began a streak in which they qualified for the playoffs for 12 consecutive seasons. In the 2011 NBA Finals, they defeated the HEAT in six games to win the only championship in franchise history.
Nowitzki retired in 2019 and passed the torch to Luka Dončić, who led the Mavericks to four straight playoff berths, including the 2022 Western Conference Finals and 2024 NBA Finals.

Great as always. It is a fun and lively atmosphere. Food and drink too expensive.
Sat in section 105. Wonderful view, comfortable seats. Grande Nachos from Fast Break concessions are the best!
This was my first time to go to a Maverick's game and I promise you it won't be the last. I had a good time.
I love to watch basketball games live. I would recommend all my friend to have a nite out with there kids.
I had a great time. It was more than a game it was a big show. Teh facility was great also. The players did their best to win the game to entretain the people. My favorite part at the end I made on the big screen. It was my birhtday and I had a terrific time.
We took our kids to this game. It was their first game to go to and they loved it. So much so that we are planning on going back during spring break.
the AA center offers great view to basketball court wherever you are seated. I had the chance to try all the different levels of that stadium and it's always a blast especially if you compare the dallas cowboys stadium!!!
As always, it was a good experience going to the AAC to see the Mavs. The seats can be a little cramped if you have a child on your lap, but I think it adds to the atmosphere. The lack of a 5 star rating only refers to the concessions prices, but that is the norm for all sporting events.
HAD A GREAT TIME!! THEY HAD ALOT OF THINGS ON SALE THE FAN SHOP!!
AA is a fantastic arena and the Mavs were their usual GREAT. Seats were very good and you cannot get this type of entertainment for the cost.
Great atmosphere! Great game! I did not think seats in this area could be fun, but when you are with the righ people, it makes a great time.
It was great! I would reccomend this event to anyone...I can't wait to attend the next game!
Everytime I go to AA it still amazes me..no matter where you seat is-the view is awesome
Great seats, great crowd, great game! Paid 15.00 for parking, which isn't bad.
game was good seats bad. too far. i got a headache trying to follow action on court. again, game good, seats terrible.
It's always great to go see your team defeat the other tean they're playing!!! Was a great birthday gift to go & watch!!!
Games was excellent and the seats where closer to the floor then i expected. No issues picking up tickets from will call
My second Mavs game, and I was lucky to have it be the home debut of the new Mavs. Butler and Haywood were a good addition to the team. Go, Mavs, keep on winning!!
It did help that they won, but the seats were great! Section 116 is REALLY good!! You could see everything!
that's was asome, amazing night with all the mavs fans. I will go there again
