D.C. United History
D.C. United dominated the early days of MLS. They appeared in the league’s first four championship games, winning three of them, and added a fourth title in 2004, all before the league was even a decade old. Between 1997 and 2007, the United earned four Supporters’ Shields for best regular season record and claimed three U.S. Open Cup trophies in 1996, 2008 and 2013.
The United’s alumni include a league-best four MVP recipients: Marco Etcheverry in 1998, Christian Gomez in 2006, Luciano Emilio in 2007 and Dwayne De Rosario in 2011. Emilio and Rosario became the first two of three D.C. Golden Boot recipients in 2007 and 2011, respectively, followed by Christian Benteke in 2024.

D.C. United spent its first 22 seasons in Washington, D.C.’s Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium. In 2018, United moved into a sleek, soccer-specific stadium called Audi Field, which, at the time, was the most expensive build in MLS history. United's long-standing supporters' groups include the Screaming Eagles, La Barra Brava and the District Ultras. Audi Field holds a maximum capacity of 20,000 fans.

The game was an awesome experience for me and my boyfriend. It's his favorite sport so if he wasn't happy, then neither was I but he loved it. We are thinking about becoming season ticket holders.
They were in a hole very early in the game, 2-0. They kept sticking it to them and came back and won, 3-2

Enjoyed the game and the atmosphere. The stadium is run down and needs a serious makeover. My chair was broken and I kept sliding off the seat. However, it was a family day out and the family enjoyed it.
Good game...good time had by whole family including my two year old daughter. Would have liked a beer vendor to stop by though...where were they this game???
Nothing to complain about the play on the field in an exciting 2-1 victory for DC United. but the RFK fan experience is terrible. No water fountains, lousy bathrooms without soap in the dispensers, terrible concessions, PA system that is unintelligible, and black-and-white TVs to watch replays. I saw lines of 30 people waiting for popcorn 10 minutes into the 2nd half of the game -- and this was with attendance of maybe 7,000.
Very good game. Didn't start well with DC United falling behing 1-0. But they came back with 2 goals winning 2-1.
Very good atmosphere in RFK, we took our kids because it was an early 5 pm kickoff. If you haven't been to a DC United game you should check it out!
RFK is an old but historic stadium. MLS soccer is always entertaining. Parking was not a problem and entering/exiting stadium was easy as well. The venue offered plenty of food/beverage selections as well as ample merchandise stands.
Was impressed by the helpfulness of the staff to find our seat and the food was good as well. Old stadium but the team has worked hard to make it as pleasant as possible. I'm sure they are looking forward to a new stadium! Also, was impressed to receive a call from a rep from the organization making sure we had a great time! We'll be back.
DCU games are amazing, and loving the game.Games are awesome.
As a guy from The Netherlands, soccer definitely is my sport. I was glad I could see a real match in the States as well. Although the atmosphere was definitely different (playing in a former baseball stadium with one ring of fans vs. a modern soccer stadium with more than 50.000 fans), I enjoyed the game and will definitely come back to be able to see some former BPL players in actions.
DC United play their hearts out every game to a half full stadium. They deserve better support from the DC region.
The only thing that could've made it better was if we won the game. Fantastic seats for cheap ($35 a piece).
Had a great time as usual. Can't wait for the new stadium but I enjoy the tradition of RFK.
This was my first time going to a DC United game and it really was fun. I encountered great customer service from Paige, who led me to my seat and was in the thick of the action with all of the flags and chants. Thank you!
Great seats but this section tends to stand. SO I had to stand the entire game to view it. Great fans, but I would have liked to sit.
This was my first professional soccer game to attend in person and it did not disappoint. Both teams played hard, the other fans around us were very friendly, and the weather couldn't have been better. All around an enjoyable experience.
Had a great view of the whole pitch. Considering to buy tickets to the next home game!
