D.C. United History
D.C. United dominated the early days of MLS. They appeared in the league’s first four championship games, winning three of them, and added a fourth title in 2004, all before the league was even a decade old. Between 1997 and 2007, the United earned four Supporters’ Shields for best regular season record and claimed three U.S. Open Cup trophies in 1996, 2008 and 2013.
The United’s alumni include a league-best four MVP recipients: Marco Etcheverry in 1998, Christian Gomez in 2006, Luciano Emilio in 2007 and Dwayne De Rosario in 2011. Emilio and Rosario became the first two of three D.C. Golden Boot recipients in 2007 and 2011, respectively, followed by Christian Benteke in 2024.

D.C. United spent its first 22 seasons in Washington, D.C.’s Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium. In 2018, United moved into a sleek, soccer-specific stadium called Audi Field, which, at the time, was the most expensive build in MLS history. United's long-standing supporters' groups include the Screaming Eagles, La Barra Brava and the District Ultras. Audi Field holds a maximum capacity of 20,000 fans.

Slow game that turned into a win. We got their before 7 but they wouldn't give us the "winter hats" that were supposed to be part of the ticket 4-pack. I'm a fan, so this won't affect my fandom and I will still attend games.
Great view of the stadium and the game. Also stadium stands should be more cleaner.
The stadium is crumbling the food is low grade and the event staff leave something to be desired. Having said that, my son and I had a great time. The crowd was involved and United won, couldn't be better. While this is the only product this area has I will continue to support it.

Being a season ticket holder it was a joy to be able to see my club make the post-season not once but twice. Although we were eliminated that night the ambiance and the fans made it seem like we were playing the Cup Final. The staff and crew of RFK were helpful and courteous. Concession lines moved quicker than I expected given the vast attendance (season high!). Overall one of the best nights in DC soccer I have had the pleasure of being part of. Here's to many more!
I liked a lot the game, the beer was cool coold...but I paid 7 bucks for the worst steak chicken sandwich ever...lol...
Love going to the old girl (RFK Stadium) to see a match.
I paid close to $40 for tickets that weren't too bad and my friends paid $60 for seats up front and personal. For the first half I sat in my designated seat and than after break I sat with them, because people were disappointed with the score! So it was a win, win situation for me and the team tied against Houston! Oh well!
Game and fans are GREAT. Stadium itself is old and run down and concessions are mediocre.
Best fans in mls, just wish they would sit down once in a while.
I've been going to DC United games since the first season, and I would always recommend their games. Playoff games are especially fun.

RFK is likely the worst stadium to watch a soccer match (or anything else). Sound system is blaring - way too loud and distorted. Concessions are EXPENSIVE! DC United had an awesome season! Too bad they did not make it past Houston, but a great season!
I was so excited to attend this great event and watch DC United for the first time in my life! Unfortunately we couldn't win the game but still we fought till the end.. Yeah we could do better but maybe our players aren't experienced enough. I just hope they will learn from their mistakes and get stronger next season! I was so disappointed to find the upper level of the RFK empty of supporters...I don't know why?!!
The first half of the local team was of a poor quality. They did improve in the second half but failed to score on several clear opportunities.
Even though the result wasn't what I would have liked, it was the best soccer game I have seen. I just started getting into soccer last year and I'm excited to live in a soccer town now!!!
It was sad that DC United did not make it to the final, but hopefully next season will be the case!

This game had it all, excitement, drama, packed stands,passionate fans and some very good play on the field. I would very much love to be a part of something like this again. Playoffs are special. Vamos United!!
