CROWDER IN CONCERT:

When it comes to fun and worshipful concert experiences, few acts come close to the inspiring live shows of alternative Christian rock favorite Crowder. David Crowder has been treating audiences to his spiritual blend of indie, bluegrass, folk, and electronica for nearly two decades, and his ability to move audiences through music and prayer reflects his abundance of experience as a performer. Whether he's playing favorites from his days with the David Crowder Band or lifting spirits high with cuts from his chart-topping 2014 album Neon Steeple, Crowder always leaves audiences in awe on his unforgettable tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Texas-born David Crowder got his start as a musician with the church, undertaking music ministry duties while attending university in the '90s. Crowder formed a worship band and began performing in an effort to attract more college students to services, and before long the David Crowder Band had landed a deal with SixStep Records. Their 2002 debut album Can You Hear Us? peaked at No. 17 on the US Christian Albums chart, establishing them as a vibrant new force within the Christian rock community. Crowder went on to release five more albums with the band, topping the Christian charts three times and achieving crossover success with albums like 2012's Give Us Rest -- a No. 2 hit on the Billboard 200. After the group disbanded in 2012 Crowder ventured on as a solo act, topping the charts once again in 2014 with his solo debut Neon Steeple. A humble and inspiring performer, Crowder continues to move concertgoers on his critically acclaimed tours. Over the course of his career, Crowder has played venues such as the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, the Arizona Federal Theatre in Phoenix, and Madison Square Garden in NYC.

  • Even better than hoped for!

    by ksfoodfan1 on 4/28/15The Electric Factory - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

We love the music but the show and the interactions between the band members was the best part of the evening. Note - standing for 3+ hours at the Electric Factory - a bit wearisome.

The event was amazing! Not only the songs that was performed but also how Crowder slowly exited the stage when he lead the people to sing "Because He Lives". It is Jesus whom we adore and worship not the singers or performers. Thank you Crowder for a heavenly worship!

Awesome. So appreciate the whole band. Amazing. Nothing like the simple love of Christ.

My family and I love the music but was very disappointed with this event. A one hour of music and then it wasn't advertised as a youth event. For the Ticket price , it wasn't worth it!! Plus we traveled over 2 hours, not good

  • Crowder was great, length of show was poor

by Anonymous on 11/25/13Reardon Auditorium - AndersonRating: 5 out of 5

Having paid for three tickets we assumed we were going to a concert and would be treated to a two hour show as usual. However, the show ended within an hour and while David Crowder was exceptional, it was not worth the price to pay for half a concert. Very disappointed. It should not have been advertised as a concert with a youth event going on.

  • Cozy, fun event

by Aimhead on 3/17/13Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

This is a beautiful and cozy venue and the concert was great. I am a big proponent of seating so I would have preferred assigned seating but we enjoyed out time up against the stage. Thanks for a nice night!

  • David Crowder's new folk/hillbilly band is awful

by Anonymous on 3/17/13Calvary Church - LancasterRating: 1 out of 5

David Crowder Band was one of my favorite artists. I own all his music dating back to 2003's Illuminate. His incredibly unique and creative music was the best in the business. However, sadly the band broke up in 2012. This was my first David Crowder concert since the breakup and it will be my last. The new band is a folk/bluegrass/hillybilly band. No electric guitars, no keyboards, no huge drum set. What you get instead is an acoustic guitar, accordion, cello, violin, slide guitar, and bass. Now if you like this sort of music, then maybe you'll like the new band. But Crowder trying to fit all his old songs into this new genre just doesn't work. The crowd wasn't into it. Sure, there was polite applause but that's about it. You could almost sense they were expecting/wanting the old David Crowder Band. Its very hard to whoop the crowd into a frenzy with an accordion.

  • Crowder was GREAT!!

David Crowder put on a great show! Not only is he a very talented musician, who surrounds himself with very talented musicians, he is hilarious! We had a great evening and were very blessed to be there. It was worth the drive from Baltimore.

  • Crowder & company up close!

    by Rebeccam1 on 3/15/13Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Great night, excellent music, worshipful and downright fun! David Crowder with a talented group of musicians in a smaller venue but giving a big concert sound. It was all good, from the new songs to the older, including Hank Williams' 'I Saw the Light'. Crowder called it like a night in his living room, or on the front porch. Would see them again anytime, it was fantastic.

  • Dave Crowder does it again!

Crowder and his opening act were awesome! Didn't enjoy standing the entire time, but the music and meeting Crowder was worth it.
