Great night....great music....love the venue...perfect!
What a great show! I love that they played lots of their older material!
Amazing show. Didn’t want it to end. Danced the night away
The BB King venue was fantastic, intimate and with a solid, well designed sound system. Was my first, but hopefully not last, time seeing an act there. Even at the back of the room, standing at the bar, you're no more than 50 feet from the band on stage. CVB kicked it off with their always interesting mix of blistering rock riffs, inspired fiddle, and world music. Cracker took the stage an hour and a half later, with Johnny Hickman's laser guitar riffs blowing the crowd away. This band is on point - very tight. Must be tough to make up a set list when a band has such a well of material, but the set (wish I could remember it all) included a pleasing blend of their best known material (Low, Euro Trash Girl, Teenage Angst), coupled with a sampling of their catalog across time (including newer stand-out songs from their Berkeley to Bakersfield double-CD release, like Almond Grove). Loved this show from beginning to end, and wish there was a second encore!
Performance was so good that I saw someone leave the show with a brown streak coming from the bottom of their pants leg onto the floor. Yes it was that good and want to see them again
This was the 3rd time I have had the privilege of seeing Cracker play. Each time I enjoy it more. The variety of their music, and tightens of their band is like no other. Hope they come back to St. Louis later this year! Keep rocking David and Johnny!
Cracker at the Duck Room was an unforgettable experience. I think the band enjoyed it as much as the crowd. Truly a memorable rock performance. Cracker outperformed their show in Chicago when I saw them in the 90's.
This place was great. Cracker played and played. Tunes kept coming with classics you hoped for.
Great venue awesome band. Cracker and Camper ALWAYS bring it. BB Kings was a great venue for them. The food was excellent!
Two great bands put on two great shows. The crowd was into it and knew all of the songs including the new releases. Nice room with very good sound. Food was good, beer selection was somewhat limited.
This was a great show. They played a lot of classics along with some good new stuff. They followed history and started with CVB then went on to Cracker. I have seen their acoustic show too, which I liked slightly better than this. But still a great show. From my perspective, the only songs they left out were: Eurotrash Girl, Borderline and Eye of Fatima. But to play Sweet Thistle Pie!!!??? I mean how great is that!
Jamming all night long both bands exceptional rock blues country reggae Ska musicians
Dave and Johnny do it again. They know their crowd And their crowd loves them. Simply put, they play great Rock and Roll. Can't wait till They come to New York again
Dave Lowery and Johnny Hickman are superb story tellers--true Americana artists. They are backed on this tour by tight, spot on bandmates, including a young woman on keyboards who was as good as anyone I have heard. They played a few of their classics as always, but the real pleasure from the evening was the introduction of their new Berkeley to Bakersfield songs. Those songs and the two-in-one album are extraordinary. Played lived, they come alive in the heart, the mind, and the soul, touching to the core of things from many, many different perspectives. If you get the chance, go to hear them! It is well worth it!
The "last rock band on the planet" performed two 1 hour sets of new and classic tracks. The backing band for Mr Lowery and Hickman were all from Athens, GA. They were more than up to the task, enhancing the tried and true, creating a muscial ambiance that was perfectly matched to both alt-country tunes and the rocking tracks.
Cracker is touring in support of their new 2 CD set "Berkeley to Bakersfield". One disc of Berkeley punk, one disc of Bakersfield California country. Trust me, it works. Cracker played two sets at the sold out Duck Room, opening each set as the duo of David Lowery and Johnny Hickman, then bringing keys, pedal steel, bass and drums on stage. A packed room was just as appreciative of the new songs as they were of old favorites. Good times- catch them on tour this year! Crackersouldotcom...
What can you say? Small venue, ten feet from some of your favorite musicians, rockin' crowd, sing-alongs, new tunes and Number 7 just keeps sounding better and better!
Fantastic Show! What an incredible venue to see this band! Can't wait to see them Again.
Incredible musicianship, guitar virtuosity, personality/audience rapport, such fun and/or thought provoking lyrics that would have been lost on those unfamiliar w/their music had the band not been unplugged. And Johnny Hickman's solos - sooooo beyond sweet sound out of that Les Paul. Riveting and I'm out of superlatives and time and I'd go again tomorrow.
