About

Counting Crows are a Grammy and Academy Award-nominated rock band that have sold over 20 million albums worldwide. Behind popular singles “Mr. Jones” and “Round Here,” Counting Crows’ debut album August and Everything After (1993) sold 7 million copies and peaked at No. 4 on Billboard 200. The sorrowful, roots-driven vocals of singer Adam Duritz transcended the alt-rock charts with 1996’s Recovering the Satellites. Fueled by the success of “A Long December,” Recovering the Satellites reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200, cementing the Counting Crows as one of thegreatest adult alternative artists of all time.

    Counting Crows were extremely disappointing

by Jim23 on 7/9/09Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills

This was an Augustana concert and the CC's supplemented it somewhat!! Very disappointed that they played so much with the opening act and it deteriorated from the total performance. Bottom line is I never would have gone had I known they would play so little. The Crow's didn't even do many of there biiger hits. Maybe that's why the place was 2/3 full at best!

Always having to count the crows

by Lawn on 7/9/09Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills

The "traveling circus" of The Counting Crows and Augustana is a joke. While likely fun for the musicians who have to fight the redundancy of the road and set-list by creating variety -- the tactic of mixing the ensembles during ~70% of the songs negatively effects the audience vibe. I understand the band not playing "Mr. Jones," "Round Here" and "Yellow Taxi" (I am sure they feel those songs have long-lost any degree of energy and freshness) - I believe they must face the reality their audience wants to relive 1998 and not have to pretend the Counting Crows have transcended the source of their success. They have not. Far from it.

    I miss Mr Jones

by cinnamongirl on 7/9/09Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills

Counting Crows put on a great show, lots of energy from everyone. Adam got his public service info out there which is great. The show ended with everyone singing "This Land is Your Land". which was kind of cool. Augustana did a fine job too. It seems like they were on the stage with CC for most of the night. I was a little disappointed that CC's didn't play , Mr. Jones, Accidentely in Love or Round Here. I also would have loved to have heard "Los Angeles" "and it's a really good place to find yourself a taco!" Love that song too. Adam kind of sounds like Mick Jagger on that track. The CC's just have so many great songs, you wish they could play them all!

    C Crow Meadowbrook

by CCrowFan on 7/9/09Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills

Overall the show was ok. I thought the C Crows could have performed more of the tradional hits. Also Augustana played way too long and should only be allowed to play with the Crows on one, maybe two tunes max

    Counting Crows never fail!

by ambermae on 7/9/09Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills

Adam was wonderful...as always. The two bands were in awesome sync with classics and newer songs. The venue was beautiful, but the vendors were disapointing. The lighting and atmosphere played well with the band.

    AWESOME

by Bella6 on 7/9/09Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills

I have been to 3 or 4 of their last local concerts - but this was by far the most amazing performance I have seen by them. They were having a great time and so was everybody in the audience. I wish I could follow this tour - I would love to see a repeat performance.

    Decent Counting Crows Show

    by reviewer1 on 7/8/09PNC PAVILION - Cincinnati

The show was okay, but not amazing. I really like Augustana, but I wouldn't really call them the opening act. Counting Crows kept bringing Augustana crew back on stage and made them sing back up until the end of the show. Some moments, Augustana didn't look like they knew they were supposed to perform all those songs. It's almost as if Adam didn't want to try too hard, so he had Augustana do all the work. If I was an avid Counting Crows fan, I would have been disappointed. As it is, I am more of an Augustana fan, so it made it a decent show.

    Crows Were Flying High

by dahiggs on 7/8/09PNC PAVILION - Cincinnati

From the opening cover of Van Morrison's Caravan the Crows rocked the PNC Pavilion. It was a wild roller coaster ride. The opening act, Augustana joined the onstage antics for many of the evening's gems. I WILL look for another opportunity to catch the Crows. You should too!

    Best Counting Crows/Augustana we've seen!!!!

by mremsing on 7/8/09PNC PAVILION - Cincinnati

Concert was fantastic. Great setlist, many more songs than in the last several years we've seen them. Played a couple new songs, but mostly older favorites. Big Counting Crows fans and have listened to Augustana since they played together several years ago. Bands seemed to be really having fun together too. Can't wait till they come back!

by smokymtnmama on 7/7/09PNC PAVILION - Cincinnati

The Counting Crows were great as always! They played lots of old tunes, plus a handful of new songs from Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings. Augustana joined them on stage for many of the songs - Awesome!

    best crows show yet

by nittanylion on 7/7/09PNC PAVILION - Cincinnati

Excellent show. Best Crows show yet. The energy that Augustana gave Adam was incredible. He was jumping, spinning, spraying all over. Really getting into it. The rest of the band fed off it as well.

    Counting Crows are great!

by pringle on 7/7/09PNC PAVILION - Cincinnati

Having seen Counting Crows previously, I had high expectations of this show. I was not disappointed! They played a wide variety of thier music, not sticking to just one album, and really mixed up the musical tempos! They appeared to be having just a great time performing on the stage for the fans and that great time spread to the audience. Adam Duritz encouraged the fans to sing along and join in! They also had the members of Augustana, the warm-up band, come onto the stage several times during the show, and it did nothing but add to the fun! they even threw in some non Counting Crows songs and they also sounded great!
