Corrine was absolutely divine... The venue Vic Theatre was not very comfortable in enjoying her but the sound system was on point. She did come back for an standing ovation which I thought was cool. Would love to have send her at the Chicago Theater... Saw her a couple of years ago with John Legend there... I am in the older group set but just love, love, love her. Sweets
A beautiful woman with a soft sexy voice. I didn't like standing throughout the show, but it was well worth it.
Corinne Bailey Rae played a great show! She was adorable, polite, and shy. The band was almost as good as she was. They had great solos and looked like they enjoyed themselves. Her set list were all nice choices. They left and came back for an encore but she was honestly surprised that we were cheering for her to come back out. She sang two older, classic songs that had their own spin. Getting into the venue early was great because I could be six feet from her. Overall, I loved every minute and can't wait to have her come back!
What a cool personal venue....Parking is right across the street and other lots close too , hardly a bad line at all, got through it quick, will call was a cinch- no issues...You are right there in front of the performer- not a bad spot in the house...We actually talked back & fourth with her at times and in between songs she responded- she was soooo very very cool. Put on a long show- the woman did not even take one drink of water...I would pay any amount of money to see a concert here. It was such a personal and intimate experience with the performer...I'm just blown away!! Only bad thing is GA is standing room only- if you get a great long show which is what we got....it's really hard on someone older, hell- it's hard on a lot of people to stand in one spot that long....Really think certain venues should offer chairs but if you get your tickets early there is a balcony section with chairs. Also Daniel merriweather open up for her- both he and the guitar player were also amazing!! Really impressed big time....anxious to go back there for another show :) Oh and we were able to take pics and record video the whole show- my mom and sis thought it rocked too......what a great mix of people, very friendly patrons and staff
The show was amazing. Didn't love having to stand for 4 hours, but Corinne was worth it.
I would expect every venue she performs at there will be people that will be blown away about how down to earth she is. And at St Andrews I got more than just that
I love Corrine so much. She was so polite and she's an amazing singer. She's adorable. She seemed so relatable. I want to see all of her concerts! I'm a Corrine Bailey Rae fan forever!!!! =)
worth every dime the music, the ambiance, the energy. CBR is a great artist. I love her, and will continue to support her endeavors.
Corinne bailey Rae was wonderful..The Vic Theater ws just great...We had the choice to sit in the balcony or stand..we chose to stand...it was so good because we were so close to Corinne..Her voice is like an angel...the show was wonderful, that is all I can say..I would definitely go back to the Vic......The people working there were very nice...but Corinne's show was outstanding...I hope she comes back to Chicago soon..last time I saw her was at the Chicago Theater with John Legend...but this was just more intimate...she looked and sound ed so good..her last song, Doris Days' old song Whaterever Will Be Will Be..QueSeraSera was so nice...and soulful..never thought it would sound like that...WONDERFUL SHOW AND VENUE...
Simply put, Corinne Bailey Rae and her band put on an amazing show at this venue. It had the intimacy of an "MTV Unplugged" taping which I really appreciated because as a performer, she displayed a lot of nuance and mannerisms that add a nice touch and would otherwise be missed if she were performing in a bigger venue. What struck me the most was Corinne's humility. She sang her heart out and after each round of thunderous applause, she told the audience, "thank you." Such a simple gesture but the depth and magnitude was profound. I am obviously a fan (as if you couldn't already tell!) Go see Corinne Bailey Rae, you will not be disappointed.
I am a huge fan of Corrine's music and was truly excited to see her live, too bad she was not as excited. She did not really interact with the crowd at all, you could feel the crowd's vibe they we were all already to jam with her. I found myself at some point in the concert nodding off. One postive note she did sound like herself vocally she sounded good, but I could have stayed at home and listened at least I would have heard the songs I wanted to hear. Corrine need's to loosen up get some passion for her own music!!! Chicago is wonderful this city made the trip worth it!
Loved the venue, loved the crowd. I was able to walk in with my friend 15 minutes after the doors opened and be in the second row, center from the stage. The bathrooms were atrocious, though!
I wondered if her wonderful tone would translate to a live stage, expecting her soft voice to lose a bit in a concert hall . . . nothing would be further from the reality! CBR was incredible! Her voice was as pure as anyone could ask. Simply stunning, in fact better than the recordings. I can't wait for her to come around again. Simply satisfying on every level!
Flawless vocals and the tightest instrumentals is what we heard at the Vic last night! The house was packed and you could smell love in the air, that crowd was so glad to have CBR back in Chicago!!!!!!
The vic was small and intimate and the vibe was just perfect to see such an amazing performer! Excellent concert!
The first time I saw Corinne perform was at Lincoln Park West...it was great. Almost everyone was able to have a seat and table. She was great and the audience appreciated and listened to her. Standing for almost 3 hours among a talkative, obnoxious audience caused me to leave the concert early....I simply could not clearly hear the performance, and I could barely see her...I was tired of stretching my nectk and standing on tip toes. I will never attend another event at the Vic.
She sound better in person than her CD. Her band was great as well! She has great stage presence and movement.
It was one of the Best shows I've ever been to! The show was great from begging to end.
Corinne Bailey Rae is an amazing artist. She has a great band of musicians behind her, and has terrific artistry and beautiful voice! What a great show! Thank you Corinne Bailey Rae!!!
