Corinne Bailey Rae is a true performer, and did not disappoint. Her beautiful vocals sound better live in person! Her charming personality made for an unforgettable evening.
90 minutes of two opening acts was a little much for my taste; and the show was scripted to the second; the encore performance of Que Serra rocked the house; my date and I would have loved to have seen even more of that. however, if you love CBR as she is recorded, you will love her show. She is talented, warm, and energetic.
I have not seen a better preformance since Steve Wonder. She was captiving. By far, the best ticket of the year...hands down. A music teacher standing next to me said, She reminds me of Marvin Gaye and I totally agree. I took my teenage daughter and she said, "Mom, that was the best concert I've ever gone too, because she was so real. " We are fans for life...!
Overall, the performance was terrific. The band was great, Corine Baily voice was a delightful twist to the normal singers you hear today. I prefer this type of venue to be played at a Yoshi environment due to the high number of slow ballets she performed. Howevere, overall we had a great time.......
Her voice was beautiful! Sounds just as good live as recorded. Thoroughly enjoyed the show. My only complaint would be it got a little too bluesy at times. I think she could use a few more upbeat songs. But what she did perform she did very well.
Her music is amazing, and so is her voice. But to go to a concert and just listen to that, is kind of awful... she didn't connect with the audience, didn't even speak except to say the name of the song that she was gonna sing next... it would've been better to listen to her cd at home.... i love her music but there is nothing special about seeing her live
Corrine is an amazing performer. Groovy, wonderful singer, great songs, and beautiful. However, the audience should have been informed that there were two opening acts. We were standing in the front row for 4.5 hours. Too long. She was great and the other acts were good. But it would have been good to know ahead of time.
CBR was great. She sounds even better in person. Great band and the guitarist / back up singer has an awesome voice too. She said she will be back in the fall and I'll be at that show too.
The venue was great and Corinne was fantastic. Her sweet humble demeanor is so cute and her voice just absolutely blows you away. i was mesmerized by her voice and the show last night!

Probably one of the sweetest and ear pleasing voices I have ever heard.The presence of her voice is astounding.
Fabulous concert from start to finish. Loved the Overtones, my new favorite singer, Daniel Merriweather and of course the main act, Corinne Bailey Rae. I just love the Commodore, I only wish there was more seating and especially seats with clear views of the stage, those darn pillars keep getting in the way.
I have been a fan of Ms. Rae's since I first heard her in 2006. She continues to amaze, impress and enchant. The Commodore was a wonderful setting for her warm, ethereal voice and very talented band, being close and cozy enough to feel included without needing to sit (or stand) on top of anyone. Truly, she is a talented young woman.
CBR puts on a good show! Her voice is incredible. The only complaint that I would have is that her band drowns her out. The bass was WAY too loud.
The show was great. At the beginning there were some problems with the sound - especially bases - but once that was rectified - it was great. She started really really late (almost 11pm) but it was worth the wait.....The second guy was kind of boring....and kids from South Africa were also great.....
Probably the best concert all year for us, tiny venue, plenty of room, bar with glasses not plastic, perfect!
I took a chance on her CD when I saw it for sell in a Starbucks coffee house in Salt Lake City, UTAH (Im from Maryland) while my sister and I were there skiing. I was not disappointed.
