Thoroughly enjoyed the show! The plot, cast and performances were delightful. Highly recommend
I love this musical but really didn’t enjoy this production. I was actually waiting for it to end. The set design was clever for 15 minutes and became outright claustrophobic after that. The cast didn’t have much chemistry with the main character, who was obviously a talented singer but too operatic for Sondheim and just not believable as a complex person. The three suitors (female dates in the original) were the best part of the show. But did we really need the flight attendant disappearing under Bobby’s waistline for a whole scene? Just bad directing for the audience.
Great show! Britney Coleman was terrific as Bobbie, and Judy Mclane made the role of Joanne her own. Changing Bobbie from male to female made the show even more resonant.
We went into the show knowing that it may be pretty outdated and blah. We were in town and needed something to do on a Saturday night and this show was the only event around. We walked away with, "It was just okay"kind of comments. The actors were marvelous. It was the storyline that was boring. The ending was anticlimactic, and some of the songs were just plain dull. Even if there was nothing else to do on a Saturday night, you couldn't pay me to sit through it again.
We left at intermission. Not interesting and music not great either.
Not loud enough. Was not able to hear everything clearly from the mezzanine.
I had the privilege of seeing this production in New York with it's original Broadway cast and I was thrilled to see it again on tour. The production translated fabulously and this tour cast is NOT TO BE MISSED. Marianne Elliott and team's staging and design have truly elevated Sondheim's wonderful yet dated work.
Strong cast, wonderful pieces of stage business. But missing that crisp diction and slightly sharp tonality that characterizes Sondheim’s style. Too melodic.
Fun upbeat music with interesting choreography. But a good number of the numbers fell short. Does not make my top 10 of shows, but was still worth an evening out.
What a hilarious, heartfelt, stunning production! Watching the set movement is always one of my favorite aspects of stage shows and this one definitely did not disappoint. Every number was beautifully choreographed and gorgeously executed. And the voices! Oh man, what a fantastic performance by every person.
I've seen Company before and love the music, it's not for everyone. But this was a bad production. The sets were too small for the action taking place inside them. The sound quality at this theatre was (and usually is) bad. Actors were ok. Gender change didn't really make sense in the dated script. We left at intermission.
I thought the singing was excellent and there were lots of funny moments in the musical. I was thoroughly entertained by the cast. The ending was a bit underwhelming but all in all I was glad I attended.
Left at intermission. Talent was fine. Production and presentation failed badly.
Way to long and couldn't hear everything well. Just to much talking that you couldn't understand!
I hated this show, despite some of Sondheim’s more iconic songs. I’ve never been so bored. The show just does not age well, even with the desperate attempts to make it seem more relevant with some oh-so-cliche gender swapping. It felt dated and irrelevant, and I simply could not muster one iota of interest for any of the neurotic, plastic characters. Over acting, over singing. Could not get out of there fast enough, and I wasn’t alone. I saw scores of people leaving at intermission. And like me, many of the folks I spoke with said they’d never left a show early before. It is a lot of money to throw away.
I think that there were parts of this that didn't resonate with most of the audience. I am not sure what the ending meant.
Terrible. Boring. Almost left at intermission but decided to see if second half would get better. It didn't. Left after about 10 mins into the 2nd half.
First Broadway show I’ve been too that I wasn’t impressed. Disappointing Valentines Day gift.
Music forgettable. No plot. No resolution. Just not that great.
Music good….book was basic and boring. Seemed to be a story we all already knew and have seen done in much more interesting ways. This revival didn’t do much to make the story fresh and relevant for today’s more sophisticated audience. Possibly ground breaking in the 70s but not so much now.
