About

Comedy Cellar (Las Vegas) Live

The longest-running comedy club in New York, Comedy Cellar is where audiences discovered such giants of stand-up as Ray Romano, Chris Rock, Jon Stewart, Amy Schumer and Dave Chappelle. Now fans in Las Vegas can discover more future stars — and catch established favorites, too — at the Comedy Cellar's thrilling new West Coast location.

Opened in 2018 as a 300-seat venue at Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, the Comedy Cellar offers the same intimacy and energy as the fabled club that inspired it. In creating the new outpost with Caesars Entertainment, Comedy Cellar owner Noam Dworman has replicated many of the original's most distinctive features as well as its special atmosphere.

Comedy fans can expect to see great sets by veterans of the Cellar's two New York clubs along with the best in new national and international talent. They may also be lucky enough to be there for spontaneous performances by comedy superstars playing elsewhere on the Strip.

Comedy Cellar (Las Vegas) Background

The Comedy Cellar's history began in 1982, when comic Bill Grundfest established a new club underneath a Greenwich Village restaurant. With a more intimate feel than many of New York's comedy hotspots, the Comedy Cellar soon became not just a space for the scene's best new talents to perform but a place where they wanted to hang out, too.

The roster of comedians who became regulars at the Cellar includes Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Jon Stewart and Aziz Ansari. It's where Jerry Seinfeld chose to shoot much of his 2002 documentary Comedian. It can also be seen in stage segments in Louis C.K.'s series Louie and Chris Rock's film Top Five.

In 2018, Noam Dworman — who inherited the Cellar from his father Manny — opened the club's first West Coast location in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. Closely replicating the original's look and atmosphere, it has become the place to see the country's funniest performers in the kind of warm, intimate room that comedians themselves love best.

Great show in a great Venue! Dave killed and his opening act was Nichole( gotta find her last name) was darkly brilliant and funny! Loved it! I wish they didn’t serve food during the shows though, it’s very rude.

    Overall the fantastic show

by A. B. on 12/29/18Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las Vegas

We had a great time seeing the lineup of comedians at comedy cellar. We particularly enjoy the diversity of the comedians - I don't find comedy shows of all white males particularly funny (even though I am one myself)! The show included a woman in the lineup which was a nice change and she was good. Keith Robinson was my favorite, and Leo Flowers, as well as a 5th bonus comedian were also very funny. The only negative was the video they show before the show starts which felt like a throwback to the 70s or 80s. Some of it consisted of animal gags and bloopers there were amusing but there was also a lot of dubious breast flashing and baby vomiting and stuff like that that we could have done without. Not so much a politically correct issue as just not very funny material. That aside, this is definitely my favorite comedy club in Vegas :-)

    Must see Comedy Show!!

by MrGabe on 10/22/18Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Comedy Cellar at the Rio in Las Vegas is a must see! From the entrance doors to your seat, the Las Vegas atmosphere transforms into a comedy club in New York. The low capacity venue provides the audience with an intimate vibe that allows the performances to be more subjective. Ultimately, great showmanship, pleasant ambience and hilarious acts.

    Good Show

by MrRobot1234 on 9/4/18Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las Vegas

I’ve been to The Comedy Cellar in Manhattan. The Comedy Cellar in Vegas fun. You can meet some of the comedians because they stay at the Rio. I saw Mr. Vos and Bobby, after the show, but I didn’t have time to say hi. Running time is 90 mins, but if you order food/drinks- they do not pass out the checks until after the comics are done. So if your on a tight schedule.... All of in all- it was a great show with several comedians. I would have liked to see at least one female comic, but that’s my personal thought.

    Comedy Cellar Vegas

by Soulagent on 9/3/18Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las Vegas

The Cellar is an awesome venue to see comedians. It's really intimate, even the seats toward the back of the club feel up close. Makes me wish I could go to the original in New York.

    Fair Show

by CDG63 on 9/1/18Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Was in town and was looking for a comedy show 18+ to take family to as we all enjoy comedy. Decided on the Comedy Cellas at the Rio because Brad Garret’s show was 21+. Show was mediocre at best. I’ve seen hundreds of shows and unfortunately this was one that I should have passed on. One Comedian was probably a 6 out of 10 and he wasn’t the headliner. I literally saw the headliner rush from the stage to position himself outside of the door before the crowd was allowed to leave so he could try to sell his $10 CD. Old jokes, older comedians, not that funny. Look for another spot besides this one and the Laugh Factory.

    Comedy Cellar Rio - Rocks

by spooks702 on 8/23/18Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las Vegas

It's refreshing to see the comedy scene in Las Vegas grow. And with the Comedy Cellar in the Rio Hotel & Casino, the venue is great. It's an intimate atmosphere which creates a magical vibe among its audience. They have a great line-up every Wednesday, where comics can experiment with tier bits. It's fun, cheap, and hilarious.

Good club, great audio, drinks good but pricey

by JOHNZIMBO on 8/20/18Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Had a blast at the Comedy Cellar, all four comedians were good. Only drawback is that we had paid a little extra for supposedly guaranteed second row seats but they sat us further back which was fine so i didn't complain. I think almost nobody pays for these seats so they don;t get in the habit of checking your tickets when seating you.

    Enjoyable show—good laughs

by 1chatty1 on 8/12/18Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las Vegas

We didn’t know what to expect and really had a great time. It was fast paced, kept our attention and just about the right length. By Vegas standards affordable too.

by StandupFan23 on 6/6/18Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las Vegas

I've been to every comedy club in Vegas. The Cellar is like 10 times as good as any other. Two extra comedians dropped in (Jay Oakerson!). For people who know stand up comedy, this the Mecca

    Great great great comedy club

by StandupFan23 on 5/25/18Comedy Cellar - Las Vegas

This turned out to be the most fun night of our trip, as well as the best value. We had once been unable to get into the Comedy Cellar in New York, so we gave it a try in Vegas. We had so much fun. Every act was fantastic. Greer Barnes was our favorite, but they were really all terrific.

    Dissapointed

by Bball33 on 5/14/18Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Every year in Vegas, we always hit up a comedy show. Tried the Comedy Cellar show at the Rio this time, and it was a bust, for the most part. I'm use to some good ole' comedy, laughing until I cry. During this show, I was lucky enough to chuckle here and there. Mark Cohen as the MC, was great. Brian Moses, awful. Unfortunately, he thought it was funny to talk about Black Lives Matter, and black guys wearing hoodies, and cops shooting them, NOT FUNNY. I saw one couple get up and walk out. Don't need to see this show again. Save your money.
