About

Comedy Cellar (Las Vegas) Live

The longest-running comedy club in New York, Comedy Cellar is where audiences discovered such giants of stand-up as Ray Romano, Chris Rock, Jon Stewart, Amy Schumer and Dave Chappelle. Now fans in Las Vegas can discover more future stars — and catch established favorites, too — at the Comedy Cellar's thrilling new West Coast location.

Opened in 2018 as a 300-seat venue at Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, the Comedy Cellar offers the same intimacy and energy as the fabled club that inspired it. In creating the new outpost with Caesars Entertainment, Comedy Cellar owner Noam Dworman has replicated many of the original's most distinctive features as well as its special atmosphere.

Comedy fans can expect to see great sets by veterans of the Cellar's two New York clubs along with the best in new national and international talent. They may also be lucky enough to be there for spontaneous performances by comedy superstars playing elsewhere on the Strip.

Comedy Cellar (Las Vegas) Background

The Comedy Cellar's history began in 1982, when comic Bill Grundfest established a new club underneath a Greenwich Village restaurant. With a more intimate feel than many of New York's comedy hotspots, the Comedy Cellar soon became not just a space for the scene's best new talents to perform but a place where they wanted to hang out, too.

The roster of comedians who became regulars at the Cellar includes Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Jon Stewart and Aziz Ansari. It's where Jerry Seinfeld chose to shoot much of his 2002 documentary Comedian. It can also be seen in stage segments in Louis C.K.'s series Louie and Chris Rock's film Top Five.

In 2018, Noam Dworman — who inherited the Cellar from his father Manny — opened the club's first West Coast location in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. Closely replicating the original's look and atmosphere, it has become the place to see the country's funniest performers in the kind of warm, intimate room that comedians themselves love best.

Real Disappointment…attended show at this venue about six months ago. Really surprise to see that two of four Comedians were repeat acts…particularly concerning was that both Comedians has not updated their show, it was the same old jokes…really don’t like paying twice to see the same performance. Comedy Cellar certainly needs to recruit new Comedians or make sure locals acts update their material

  • Great show

The Comedy Cellar has the look and feel of a legit comedy club. Very intimate and performers are close. Louie the host did a great job and was very funny as well. He should do a longer bit! The stand ups were all very good and there was not a klunker in the bunch. I would recommend anyone visiting searching for a good show for a great value to go.

  • Five stars for sure!

Tons of fun highly recommended! Get there early and get front row center. It’s not that much more expensive but it really gives you the full effect. The Canadians were stellar and we will definitely go back

  • Absolutely worth it! Hilarious!

The comics are ALL fantastic and its a nice surprise as you will recognize some of them, over the top funny! They deserve a better venue than the RIO!

  • show was wonderful.

Make sure you don't use ticketmaster. They do not answer the phone when you can't fix problems on line and they booked me for shows and did not tell me. BUT hte comedy show was fantastic! I especially loved Jocelyn Chia

  • Hilariously good time

by Nutmeg on 3/15/22Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

We got to see about 5 comedians. They were all different and they were all a lot of fun. They interacted with the audience and not worried about being politically correct - refreshing!! I will reserve a table every time I go to Vegas from now on. Security was hard core too, but really helpful. We had so much fun. It was a great way to start a night out on the town.

  • BEST COMEDY SHOW IN AWHILE

by Amanda on 3/8/22Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

We were there on 3/5/2022! The line up was fantastic! I haven't laughed that much in a long time! Rio is a little sketch which is unfortunate, and not much else to do there prior to the show, but I would indeed recommended the Comedy Cellar to everyone!

My husband and I went to the show at the Rio and had a great time. Five comedians in total, including the host - they all gave us belly laughs. I highly recommend if you’re looking for a break from the tables and slot machines.

  • All four comics, and the headliner, absolutely killed it.

by Scott Dodds on 3/4/22Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I’m upset we waited until the last night to go the Comedy Cellar. I would’ve gone all four nights while I was in Vegas if I knew the shows were going to be that great. For how expensive concerts and magicians charge for tickets, this is definitely the best bang for your buck entertainment wise.

  • Loved it!!

by D. B. on 2/25/22Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Great comedians! Thoroughly enjoyed 4 out of the 5 comedians. Four had me laughing constantly, one was simply “interesting”. The British guy was amazing and talented!! Well worth it!! This is a must do every time you go to Vegas.

  • Great Experience

During crazy times that we live in, this show caused me to laugh so hard my chest hurt the next day. Awesome performances!!!

  • Show was great - however needs a new location

by M. C. on 2/23/22Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Rio is on the other side of the Interstate for a reason. Just getting out of the uber you are treated to a front lobby that is full of litter and no up keep at all. Arrived early to try and catch dinner, but there were only two restaurants open - one of these served water in solo cups and offered soy sauce in packets for dine in. Then there was the process of going to the line - where preferred tickets do not mean VIP and the people guiding you will give you all different answers. Once you overcome all of these aesthetics, you finally get to watch one of the best comedy shows I have seen in a long time. The MC was top notch, all 5 comedians were fantastic, and the atmosphere was excellent. Would make the trip to that side of town maybe one more time, but would really like to see this venue open in a much nicer place

  • Had a great time! Really funny show with great comedians!

by Flnts on 2/22/22Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

All 4 comedians were really great. The venue makes it feel like they are there just for you!

  • Great comedians uncomfortable seating

by ABmomof3teens on 2/22/22Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

The rectangle tables with 6 chairs are cramped where you cannot move the chair to face the stage. Also, o didn’t intend to sit THAT close to someone I don’t know. Round tables with 2-4 chairs and easier to move them would be best. Seems you are trying to hard to get too many close to the stage. I’d rather be further back and comfortable.
