About

Comedy Cellar (Las Vegas) Live

The longest-running comedy club in New York, Comedy Cellar is where audiences discovered such giants of stand-up as Ray Romano, Chris Rock, Jon Stewart, Amy Schumer and Dave Chappelle. Now fans in Las Vegas can discover more future stars — and catch established favorites, too — at the Comedy Cellar's thrilling new West Coast location.

Opened in 2018 as a 300-seat venue at Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, the Comedy Cellar offers the same intimacy and energy as the fabled club that inspired it. In creating the new outpost with Caesars Entertainment, Comedy Cellar owner Noam Dworman has replicated many of the original's most distinctive features as well as its special atmosphere.

Comedy fans can expect to see great sets by veterans of the Cellar's two New York clubs along with the best in new national and international talent. They may also be lucky enough to be there for spontaneous performances by comedy superstars playing elsewhere on the Strip.

Comedy Cellar (Las Vegas) Background

The Comedy Cellar's history began in 1982, when comic Bill Grundfest established a new club underneath a Greenwich Village restaurant. With a more intimate feel than many of New York's comedy hotspots, the Comedy Cellar soon became not just a space for the scene's best new talents to perform but a place where they wanted to hang out, too.

The roster of comedians who became regulars at the Cellar includes Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Jon Stewart and Aziz Ansari. It's where Jerry Seinfeld chose to shoot much of his 2002 documentary Comedian. It can also be seen in stage segments in Louis C.K.'s series Louie and Chris Rock's film Top Five.

In 2018, Noam Dworman — who inherited the Cellar from his father Manny — opened the club's first West Coast location in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. Closely replicating the original's look and atmosphere, it has become the place to see the country's funniest performers in the kind of warm, intimate room that comedians themselves love best.

  • Awesome

The experience was exceptional, from the door men, waiters, the M.C. and of the course the Comedians. The place (Comedy Cellar) was great from the sound, the decor and overall vibe. I recommend to go and attend several times on different dates. The line up changes and the comedians let the audience get involved which bring surprises to the shows. Two thumbs

  • Ok for the price

The jokes were repetitive. Each comic made reference to the young couple in the front. It was the same joke over and over again. Similarly, there were jokes about being old that repeated. It could have been better.

  • Very fun evening with some hilarious people

by Bhaynie57 on 2/20/23Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

Our seats were in the premium seating (in between VIP and General), so we had a good view of the stage. We did have to stand in line at the bar for our drinks as it appears that only VIP section gets drink service at the table. The ambiance was definitely “cellar like” and the staff were quite nice. We laughed for the entire time and even enjoyed taking pictures with one of the comedians afterwards.

  • Relaxing and fun.

Loved all of the different comedians, small venue and great service.

  • Funny and engaging comedians, venue lacking

by Alex on 2/15/23Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

The comedians were funny, enjoyed the show and at a great price too (25 dollers). However the venue felt a bit run down like the rest of the hotel it was in (Rio). Drinks too expensive! 2 bud light for 30 dollers like wth.

  • Hilarious

Laughed A TON at this comedy show. 5 comedians + an MC. There was a table talking really loudly during the show but security kicked them out and everyone else was able to get back to listening to the comedians.

  • Disappointed

Accidentally bought tickets for the following night, which would have been a big deal except we were heading home the following afternoon. Was told by event staff that the box office could swap the tickets due to empty seats still being available. Box office said nobody was working who could do that and that if we wanted in that nights show we would have to purchase new tickets because of that. I know its my fault for selecting the wrong date, just disappointed that we were told we could swap and the entire hotel only has 1 person who could do that. Doesn't make sense to not have 1 person per shift with the availability to do that. Oh well maybe next time I'll pay attention better.

  • Ok-ish

2nd time seeing the show in a 6 month period. Amazing how a different lineup can affect the vibe. Limited/no crowd interaction and the last guy was so stoned he couldn’t stand still or keep a train of thought to get a joke out. His only sentence that made sense was when he was trying to promote his record for sale. Host was great. Been 2 times. Not sure I’d go a 3rd or recommend it if they can’t at least keep the talent in line to do a show.

  • Funny

4 comedians, 2 were good, 1 was really good! Host was okay. I would recommend it, worth the money!

  • Comedian

Jackie Fabulous was fabulously hilarious!! The others that performed were mediocre. Jackie was worth the wait since she performed last.

  • Comedy Cellar at Rio - Lots of Laughs!

by Cassie on 1/29/23Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I was surprised at how many comics were included in the show. The MC was funny, and experienced in introducing the other comics. One of the comics totally bombed, and he knew it which made the scenario funny. The others were hilarious that my cheeks hurt from laughing after the show was over. Most of the comics had great audience interaction, which made the night personal. The room is intimate, and every seat is a good one.

  • Comedy is slowly becoming inclusive 👍

by Val on 1/28/23Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

Really enjoyed two female comedians demonstrating what girl humor and wit can sound like 👍. The MC is old world version- lots of profanity and white male “humor”

  • So fun!

They do need to get some more waitress service in more sitting areas, and/or another bartending station

  • Great experience

by PedroJ on 1/14/23Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

Saw 6 or so comics and they were all really funny. Even the MC got quite a few laughs. I would definitely recommend the Comedy Cellar (Rio is only so-so, but the Comedy Cellar was definitely a great night out).

  • Great show

by D. B. on 1/5/23Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

Comedians, host, all the talent were A+ really enjoyed all their acts. But unfortunately sitting behind me and my significant other were 3 of the loudest, annoying, rude people who were talking the entire show. The security in my opinion did not do their job properly by not kicking them out. We even noticed another couple complaining to the security during the show. Great show, but people need to held accountable.
