About

Comedy Cellar (Las Vegas) Live

The longest-running comedy club in New York, Comedy Cellar is where audiences discovered such giants of stand-up as Ray Romano, Chris Rock, Jon Stewart, Amy Schumer and Dave Chappelle. Now fans in Las Vegas can discover more future stars — and catch established favorites, too — at the Comedy Cellar's thrilling new West Coast location.

Opened in 2018 as a 300-seat venue at Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, the Comedy Cellar offers the same intimacy and energy as the fabled club that inspired it. In creating the new outpost with Caesars Entertainment, Comedy Cellar owner Noam Dworman has replicated many of the original's most distinctive features as well as its special atmosphere.

Comedy fans can expect to see great sets by veterans of the Cellar's two New York clubs along with the best in new national and international talent. They may also be lucky enough to be there for spontaneous performances by comedy superstars playing elsewhere on the Strip.

Comedy Cellar (Las Vegas) Background

The Comedy Cellar's history began in 1982, when comic Bill Grundfest established a new club underneath a Greenwich Village restaurant. With a more intimate feel than many of New York's comedy hotspots, the Comedy Cellar soon became not just a space for the scene's best new talents to perform but a place where they wanted to hang out, too.

The roster of comedians who became regulars at the Cellar includes Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Jon Stewart and Aziz Ansari. It's where Jerry Seinfeld chose to shoot much of his 2002 documentary Comedian. It can also be seen in stage segments in Louis C.K.'s series Louie and Chris Rock's film Top Five.

In 2018, Noam Dworman — who inherited the Cellar from his father Manny — opened the club's first West Coast location in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. Closely replicating the original's look and atmosphere, it has become the place to see the country's funniest performers in the kind of warm, intimate room that comedians themselves love best.

  • Comedy cellar was the bomb!

by Ali on 3/16/25Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Comedians were hilarious- wish they could have performed longer but they were excellent for the short intervals. Servers were attentive and kept our drinks replenished. The price was affordable. Will do again next time we are in Las Vegas.

  • Laughs for your soul

by Dar on 3/16/25Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Very casual and fun! Great way to relax with friends and feed our soul with some good laughs! The comedians were all good in their own way. Fun to see if they go big! The venue is definitely holding onto the old cellar vibe. Could use a little uplift for fresh feel. This venue and another are very pushy to get you out after show. Don’t wait to use bathroom cause they either close them or rush you and only have 1 stall. Not sure why the hurry but not a good feeling of thank you for coming!

  • Nice venue & quality comedians.

by TANK from Fargo on 3/4/25Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

We usually enjoy comedy clubs, so we chose this one which was convenient for other plans we had at the Rio. The place was nice, laid out almost circle in the round/amphitheatre on a small scale), but really no bad seats that I could tell. The quality of the comedians were GREAT, which nothing personal, I didn't really expect at the price point that we paid. All in all, I'd highly recommend the experience & would go again if ever in the Las Vegas area.

  • We were rowdy and they handled it with class

by The Art Teacher on 2/25/25Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Tiny venue amazing comedians. We were celebrating my daughters 21st and a few of the crew may have been slightly intoxicated and the comedians handled it expertly! They found a way to shut up the ones that needed it and celebrate the ones that we were there to celebrate. Will definitely go again!

  • the comics were great. I loved the variety of people too.

by Marty on 2/17/25Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

The parking was a nightmare. We arrived on time. The valet took about 25 minutes to get to us. We ran all the way into the venue. We were seated in the middle range seating (we paid over 100 dollars for our seats) and it kind of sucked. We were at the end of a long table 1/2 in the walkway. The comedy was on point though, the comics were excellent. They were diverse and very witty.

  • Not too sharp

by Low Expectations on 2/12/25Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 3 out of 5

It definitely felt sophomoric compared to NY. Only the opening woman came close to intelligent banter. The rest just used wordplay and sex to get a laugh. Reality is probably just playing to the crowd.

  • Funniest show on our trip

by Vegas Virgin on 2/10/25Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Four comedians plus a very funny host. Great server We chose general seating near the back and it was still close to stage. There was a small step up to the table which was a little hazardous. Low lights at the floor level would have been safer

  • Exceeded Expectations!

by LisaPizza on 2/8/25Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

Great show, great venue! For the price we didn't expect room much but we had a great time!

  • So entertaining!

by Jami on 1/20/25Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

The Comedy Cellar show featured great comedy artists from across the US. They soon had us belly laughing. We paid more to be closer to the stage but I didn’t see a bad seat in the house. There were no intermissions so next time I would buy the two required drinks when first seated. The sales transactions at my table and around me during the show distracted from the performers. We talked about the jokes for days afterward, with renewed laughter. We were most definitely entertained.

  • Just OK.

by Sandy on 1/14/25Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 3 out of 5

Most of the comics were funny except the headliner. He MAY have been more effective but was doing impressions where it really would help if you were sitting close up but we were seated at the side and really couldn’t see his face. It really took a lot away from the show.

  • Terrible- save your money

by Not laughing on 1/5/25Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 1 out of 5

4 headliners- all horrible. Wasted an hour and the money for this show. 95 percent of the audience didn’t laugh at all. Jokes weren’t funny. Expected better and this show didn’t deliver.

  • nice surprise!

by nyvisitor on 12/26/24Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

The evening was great; really talented comedians, better than expected. At at Guy Fieri’s casual place in same Rio hotel before the show.

  • Great

by Mike on 12/17/24Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Comedians were hilarious. We had seats in GA and never had a server/cocktailer. Glad we grabbed drinks before we sat down.

  • We always enjoy Comedy Cellar

by Steve in Vegas on 12/3/24Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

We have gone to the Comedy Cellar many times and have never ben disappointed. Also, the upgrades they have recently done in the players area of the RIO are outstanding. If you are in the front row, expect to be part of the show. Never in a mean way. Go, go, go if you want affordable comedy. I find them funnier than most big name comics that are way more expenesive.

  • Awesome

  • Nice spot

by Mimi on 12/1/24Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

Host was great. First comic didn't really connect with the crowd. The last 3 comics were very good. Drinks were not good.

  • Nonstop Laughs

This turned out to be the best night out we had the comedians were so good I am so glad I went

  • Fun times, average comics

by Kamron K. on 11/15/24Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

Venue is nice and small so there isn't a bad seat in the house. Only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that the first few comics were just ok. They advertise this show by name dropping folks like Amy Schumer and Bob Sagat but the truth is you are getting second and third rate comics here. Dont get me wrong, they were funny, but don't expect to show up and see a special appearance from Dave Chapelle. Overall it was worth the money and I would do it again.

  • Hilarious all around

by Marco on 11/9/24Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Funny people top to bottom, great energy in the room, highly recommend to anyone looking for a big laugh in a small setting.
