Comedy Cellar (Las Vegas) Live
The longest-running comedy club in New York, Comedy Cellar is where audiences discovered such giants of stand-up as Ray Romano, Chris Rock, Jon Stewart, Amy Schumer and Dave Chappelle. Now fans in Las Vegas can discover more future stars — and catch established favorites, too — at the Comedy Cellar's thrilling new West Coast location.
Opened in 2018 as a 300-seat venue at Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, the Comedy Cellar offers the same intimacy and energy as the fabled club that inspired it. In creating the new outpost with Caesars Entertainment, Comedy Cellar owner Noam Dworman has replicated many of the original's most distinctive features as well as its special atmosphere.
Comedy fans can expect to see great sets by veterans of the Cellar's two New York clubs along with the best in new national and international talent. They may also be lucky enough to be there for spontaneous performances by comedy superstars playing elsewhere on the Strip.
Comedy Cellar (Las Vegas) Background
The Comedy Cellar's history began in 1982, when comic Bill Grundfest established a new club underneath a Greenwich Village restaurant. With a more intimate feel than many of New York's comedy hotspots, the Comedy Cellar soon became not just a space for the scene's best new talents to perform but a place where they wanted to hang out, too.
The roster of comedians who became regulars at the Cellar includes Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Jon Stewart and Aziz Ansari. It's where Jerry Seinfeld chose to shoot much of his 2002 documentary Comedian. It can also be seen in stage segments in Louis C.K.'s series Louie and Chris Rock's film Top Five.
In 2018, Noam Dworman — who inherited the Cellar from his father Manny — opened the club's first West Coast location in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. Closely replicating the original's look and atmosphere, it has become the place to see the country's funniest performers in the kind of warm, intimate room that comedians themselves love best.
The comedians were so talented. They had us in stiches all night. I loved how small the room was so we all had great seats.
Comedian line-up was decent. Seating was cramped and arriving early didn’t necessarily get you a better seat than those who wandered in much later. A little disappointing.
Clean, friendly, funny. Would 100% revisit as a local.
Great show! Comics were so entertaining and funny! They each handled a few difficult people in the crowd like pros. Will go again on next Vegas trip!
Intimate venue, comics did a lot of crowd work. All were very funny. Would definately go back.
Not worth the money, not funny, $140 for 2 people with no laughs
The Comedy Cellar had good comedians. The club /sesting was comfortable. Parking was easy at the Rio Casino. Happy hour/ gambling and people watching worked well with the 7 pm show.
This was our 2nd time. We returned because the first show was awesome. All the comedians had us laughing the entire time. Also parking was free and easy and easy to get to. We were very excited about going again. The second time , all the same great things except the comedians were not great. The entire audience could tell and really was just waiting for it to end. So best advice is to research the comedians, but the venue was good.
They were all hilarious and we had a great time laughed the whole show. All the people were really nice too. Will definitely go back for more fun !
We booked the VIP seating area and sat on the second row of tables. Perfect intimate venue, drink service was fab. Now the comedians/host...... AMAZING! We all had a fantastic evening with LOTS of 'laugh out loud' moments. Really really enjoyable and would certainly recommend.
It was a good show. Pay for the VIP. You get right up front.
We attended a Wednesday show. The room was a little more than half full, but the show was great. Hands down the best value in Vegas. Laugh out loud hilarious.
Loved the Comedy Cellar! Great lineup, hilarious host, superb service and Gary at the Bar treated us right!!! I'll be back.
Worth it. 3-D visual experience on approx 180x180 degree screen. Sound is excellent (Sat in 300 section). Seats vibrate in accordance with the visual and sound choreography. Comfortable seats, a bit steep for those sensitive to height, suggest purchase of a seat below 300 section. Employees are very friendly, welcoming. Rideshare outside very close to main entrance. Overall, very clean.
We go to the Comedy Cellar at the Rio Hotel pretty frequently, and we attended a show on March 21st 2025. All of the comedians were great, save for Marsha Warfield. Her set was pretty hateful and racist and unfortunately it ruined the whole experience. Racism of any kind is unacceptable. No clue how she gets herself booked. Nothing about her was funny or entertaining. Hopefully the Comedy Cellar rethinks bringing her back for any more shows and I will definately check the lineup before wasting my money if she is performing. I'd rather chew on a light bulb than endure her again.
Great club Excellent service Outstanding comics Will be back!!
All the comics were hilarious and out on a great show!
Comedians were hilarious- wish they could have performed longer but they were excellent for the short intervals. Servers were attentive and kept our drinks replenished. The price was affordable. Will do again next time we are in Las Vegas.
Very casual and fun! Great way to relax with friends and feed our soul with some good laughs! The comedians were all good in their own way. Fun to see if they go big! The venue is definitely holding onto the old cellar vibe. Could use a little uplift for fresh feel. This venue and another are very pushy to get you out after show. Don’t wait to use bathroom cause they either close them or rush you and only have 1 stall. Not sure why the hurry but not a good feeling of thank you for coming!
We usually enjoy comedy clubs, so we chose this one which was convenient for other plans we had at the Rio. The place was nice, laid out almost circle in the round/amphitheatre on a small scale), but really no bad seats that I could tell. The quality of the comedians were GREAT, which nothing personal, I didn't really expect at the price point that we paid. All in all, I'd highly recommend the experience & would go again if ever in the Las Vegas area.
