About

"Referring to his most recent record, 'Little Songs,' Colter said, "These songs were written over the last three years. I penned most of them from home and I think the songs reflect that. "With the album Little Songs, Colter's music continues to carry on the traditional sounds of his prairie homelands, while connecting a contemporary world to the values, hardships, and celebrations of rural life. He sings, "You might not see a soul for days on them high and lonesome plains. You got to fill the big empty with little songs."

  • Great show - sound issues

by EMGL on 2/21/23713 Music Hall - HoustonRating: 3 out of 5

Vincent Neil Emerson & Colter Wall were great - but the sound had issues multiple times through the both shows… unknown if venue, equipment or what caused the problem.

  • Great artist, venue dropped the ball big time

by JH on 2/21/23713 Music Hall - HoustonRating: 2 out of 5

I am a long-time Colter Wall fan and was very excited to see him since this was his first US tour since before the pandemic. Unfortunately the venue couldn't figure out their sound system, and most songs were interrupted by loud popping, screeching, or the sound cutting out altogether. It was a very disappointing experience, and I'm going to have a hard time going back. The venue has good potential, but spending money on a concert where the sound isn't there is not something I'm excited about doing. As much as I'd like to see Tyler Childers in a couple of months, there is no way I'm spending $200+ on GA for a repeat of last Saturday.

  • 713 music hall needs to get it together!

by SLOAN on 2/21/23713 Music Hall - HoustonRating: 1 out of 5

If you are going to enter the market as the new premier place for Music venues in Houston, then be prepared to be such! Colter and guest were amazing and true professionals as they dealt with constant loss of audio to multiple monitors the entire evening. I honestly think that maybe there was 2 songs consecutively the entire night that did not get audio dropped or have hissing and popping noises from the speakers interrupt both the artist and audience. I mean at one point it had gotten so bad, the audience just booed every time it happened. It truly was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a venue. Especially considering I paid well over $400 for this experience. (Tickets, bar tab, food) I will not be back anytime soon and If you value getting what you pay for, 713 is not ready to deliver that. Save your money!!

  • Fire the sound guy.

by Meg on 2/21/23713 Music Hall - HoustonRating: 3 out of 5

Colter Wall was amazing. The venue and staff however need some more training. The sound kept messing up/glitching. People purchased seats and the chairs weren't even put out. Staff had to run to the back to bring more chairs out. The staff didn't know where rows were. At the end the staff escorted people out, but with an attitude. This was my first time at this venue and left feeling a bit disappointed as they have SO MUCH potential.

  • Colter was great venue was BAD

by Jonny on 2/21/23713 Music Hall - HoustonRating: 3 out of 5

Colter did a great job. He really can sing but I thought the set was short and he played the new songs he wanted to. But boy did the venue screw it up. The audio kept cutting out for the opening act and colter. He may have cut it short bc of this. But he played through it and apologized. Regardless the crowd were good sports. I don’t recommend having the crowd sit for this type of band.

  • Sound was terrible

by OP on 2/21/23713 Music Hall - HoustonRating: 2 out of 5

The speakers would randomly cut out for a few seconds in the middle of songs. The music was also very quiet. Colter has a great voice but the tech glitches really messed that up. The whole band was great but 713 was terrible.

  • 713 Music Hall

by John on 2/21/23713 Music Hall - HoustonRating: 2 out of 5

Whoever was running sound screwed the pooch. There was constant volume loss, and you couldn’t hear the musicians. The opener experienced a loud popping noise, but the headliner experienced the worst of it. He had a bad attitude. Could have been a bad day for him, really, I don’t care. He didn’t make the crowd feel any better about the situation. The crowd would applaud to encourage Colter to continue, and he would continue playing. Not a great first impression for the 5 people I brought. Bad on the venue and shame on the group. A lot of people paid really good money to come and almost all left disappointed

  • 713 Music Hall needs better sound system

by JT MUGG on 2/21/23713 Music Hall - HoustonRating: 3 out of 5

VNE and Colter Wall were great. But the sound system broke down multiple times -- including CW's mic. Some fans wanted to stand and dance, blocking the views of others. Ushers came and escorted those fans out. But it was all very distracting. VNE commented on the low-energy crowd (seated audience vs. dance hall setup). There was a one-song encore. I sensed the artists were done with the venue and just wanted to get out of there. Overall a disappointing show, but not because of the artists. Just a bad venue.

  • Sound Was HORRIFIC

by Lady on 2/21/23713 Music Hall - HoustonRating: 1 out of 5

I have been to several shows at 713 and the sound and lighting at this show was horrendous! Not sure what happened there. Colter has a gorgeous voice but everything else was really bad.

  • Colter good. Venue bad.

by Bex on 2/21/23Minglewood Hall - MemphisRating: 4 out of 5

I didn’t realize this was a standing all night event. I’m very short & could not see the show very well at all. 😩. I know you go to shows to HEAR someone play. But, when you have an opportunity to be that close to someone, you’d like to be able to see them as well.

  • Short and to the point

    by G on 2/20/23Minglewood Hall - MemphisRating: 3 out of 5

Music was decent but he did no crowd work. After finishing the last song, he walked off stage without saying goodbye. The crowd cheered for an encore and yelled his name, but he sent the stage crew out to break down the set. Bit of a let down to his fans there.

  • Very disappointed

by Kj on 2/19/23Minglewood Hall - MemphisRating: 2 out of 5

He barely played an hour, no enthusiasm, never even thanked the crowd before walking off stage and not did not come back on for encore

  • Bad audio/no encore

by BD on 2/18/23Minglewood Hall - MemphisRating: 3 out of 5

Audio was bad, crowd was talkative and Colter seemed upset by those things. You could tell it was set up for an encore but they didn’t come back out.

  • short

by chris on 2/16/23The Factory - ChesterfieldRating: 3 out of 5

    Show was too short,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • Great venue, and Cowboy music

    by Wesley B on 2/14/23The Factory - ChesterfieldRating: 5 out of 5

Colter and Vincent put on a great show, I would recommend getting a table and sitting back watching with your beer! They are by no means superstar show man but if you’re a true fan you would know that. You should show up expecting 2 things fantastic, true to recording songs and cold beer.

  • Great Artist, Great Band, Simple Concert

by Tucker Juliette on 2/14/23The Factory - ChesterfieldRating: 4 out of 5

If you go and see Colter Wall, what else do you expect rather than him standing up on stage picking a guitar, and singing his songs? He puts on a good show, the crowd was really interested. If you love Colter Wall you will love his concert. The only thing I can point out was the fact that he played a bunch of new music in comparison to his older hits. He still engaged with the crowd between every couple of songs but for the most part, kept to his band. If you're going to see a cowboy show that is exactly what you're going to get! I enjoyed the heck out of it. Great experience.

  • Colter Wall DID NOT disappoint!

by Mndlthrdg on 2/14/23The Factory - ChesterfieldRating: 5 out of 5

Colter Wall….PERFECT!!!!! Everyone else getting up and down every 5 seconds and having to move or stand up so the people in the middle could come out……definitely NOT PRICELESS.It got annoying really quick. I even ordered my tickets at the very top thinking no one would move as much and it was worse up there. I didn’t pay to watch people’s heads and butts move constantly in front of me. But COLTER WALL.. PERFECT. 5 stars. People…-100 stars.

  • Amazing performance

by Kenny on 2/14/23The Factory - ChesterfieldRating: 5 out of 5

Show was great. Colter sounds and looks amazing. The only negative is the venue was a little chaotic and they weren’t telling people where to go and where to wait to get into the arena.

  • Sucked I was in st Louis last weekend

    by D. K. on 2/14/23Rating: 1 out of 5

  • Great Venue!

    by Country Fan32 on 2/14/23The Factory - ChesterfieldRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first experience at The Factory. I was impressed at how clean the venue was kept and the easy accessibility to the bars and restrooms. I’m also a fan of the size of the building, it has an intimate feel compared to the larger venues in the area. I’ll definitely be seeing more shows there!!
