About

Coast City Country is a Canadian country music festival in Vancouver, British Columbia that launched in 2024. The inaugural lineup featured headliners Luke Bryan, Nickelback and Dierks Bentley as well as rising country music stars such as Bailey Zimmerman, Brett Young, Walker Hayes and Elle King. The two-day main event was held on April 19 and 20 at Vancouver’s downtown multi-purpose stadium BC Place on the north side of False Creek. Along with an on-site craft beer and whiskey festival, outdoor BBQ smokehouse and parties and installations throughout Vancouver over the weekend, Coast City Country was complemented by late-night programming at the historic Commodore Ballroom between April 18 and 20 with performances by Kameron Marlowe, Travis Denning, The War and Treaty and more.

    unorganized

    by JB on 4/23/24

The concerts themselves were very fun. We all had a great time. However, we found the actual festival to be fairly unorganized and it didn't seem like a lot of employees knew what was going on or where to find anything. Defiantly room for improvement there! It was frustrating that once inside the venue you had to join a very long line in order to leave and go to the outdoor stage. (wrist bands for in and out should have been given to everyone as they entered BC Place). Also the fact that ticket prices dropped in half before the festival and nothing was offered in terms of free upgrades for those who purchased tickets in advance at a much higher rate was not really fair, especially because there was room in the surfside VIP, GA and the Bonvoy floor (those upgrades were all offered at the event for an additional cost, and should have been offered for free to those who spend $500+ on tickets that were now being sold for $250ish). With better communication, better pricing, and more organization I believe this event could be so much more successful in the future. I would defiantly attend again.

    Great music festival weekend

by Kathy j on 4/23/24BC Place - Vancouver

A great music festival especially for a first time. Artists were first class & put on great shows. Set up & venue good. Food & drink selection good. Lines were decent. Probably something to look at next year was just more merchandise for the festival. Ran out early on first day. Otherwise looking forward to next year!

    Good times for sure!

    by Amlr23 on 4/23/24BC Place - Vancouver

The concert over all was pretty great…BUT I didn’t enjoy Nickelback at all!!! I paid for a country music festival, not a rock concert! I have no idea why they were there( and apparently they didn’t either). Direks and Luke, each should have been the closers Friday and Saturday night!

    Awesome!

by SMC on 4/23/24BC Place - Vancouver

Had a great time this weekend loved seeing all the musicians at one venue. Down side they should have had Cooper Alan inside and maybe one of the more well known musicians on Saturday.I loved the food trucks outside however the sound wasn’t so great. You couldn’t hear the words and it wasn’t clear unless you were quite close and with the beer tent and audio tent it was quite limited. And more merchandise sales spots. I look forward to next year!

    Coast City Country

    by Scouter_Dad on 4/23/24BC Place - Vancouver

I went with my daughter, country is new to me. I thought the production was done very well. The only issue I have and this just comes from my security background, but the amount of underage drinking we saw in our section was crazy, I noticed that one or two would be of age and they would go get drinks and bring them back to the group, why are the folks who are of age not given wristbands? And the amount of alcohol smuggled in was crazy, how are we getting 26ers through the door in the day and age?? Would I recommend this festival to others? Yes I would. My daughter had a blast and is looking forward to next year to do it all over again!

    Coast City Country -Vancouver-April 2024

by Tucker on 4/23/24BC Place - Vancouver

BC Place staff were professional and supportive. Musicians were excellent. Disappointed with Live Nation/Ticketmaster for not providing seating promoted, purchased and paid for.

    Good but needs improvement

by Jp on 4/23/24BC Place - Vancouver

Great artist picks, they put on a good show. the venue wasn't the best for a "festival"if you wanted to go outside to watch a show it wasn't easy to get to if your on top floor. It take you longer then 10mins. Trying to get outside to get your wristband wasn't fast, sometimes you miss more then half the show waiting. The outside festival part should of been blocked off completely for smoother in and outs instead of getting checked everytime. FAQ needed to be up prior to purchasing tickets as they never mentioned alot and then closer to changed there rules in a good way . Lots of improvement needs to happen to keep it going. But over all the show was good.

    Great!

by Marlene on 4/23/24BC Place - Vancouver

The concert was great! Nicole back was phenomenal, one of the best concerts I've attended. Luke Bryant as well. I was excited to see a lot of my favorite artists in one place and the up and coming ones as well. Only a few drawbacks. Little disorganized with the tickets and directions on where to be. The stadium food was awful. Truly the worst I've ever had in my life. And there was a lot of down time between artists. But other than those minor things it was great. Definitely worth the trip to Canada.

    Amazing Weekend!

by Katie on 4/23/24BC Place - Vancouver

We had the best time, would 100% go again if it’s put on next year! Only thing we’d love is if there were some speakers further back from the robson stage, we couldn’t really hear very well and we didn’t feel comfortable going into the big crowd. Was easy to get drinks, bathrooms easily accessible and great vendors!
