About

From an early age, Clay Aiken was recognized for his wonderful voice and natural ability as a live performer. After singing in the choir and in several musicals, Aiken attained national fame on the popular TV show American Idol. Though Aiken finished second in the competition to Ruben Studdard, Aiken soon had a recording contract and released his first single, the #1 hit "This Is the Night," within weeks of the show's end. This success was followed by the 2003 release of his double-platinum debut album, The Measure of a Man, which featured the hits "I Will Carry You" and "Invisible." Later that same year, Aiken won the Fan's Choice Award at the American Music Awards, proving millions of fans held the singer close to their hearts. 2004 saw the release of another smash hit for Aiken, the holiday album Merry Christmas with Love.

  • Clay Aiken is Marvelous

by BreeTN on 3/14/11The Warfield - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Clay Aiken delivered with his latest tour. He sang songs off his latest album "Tried and True" which consisted of classic covers. His set was mainly big band jazz but he managed to tie in 4 of his old pop hits from his first album. He sang them as one medley and did a jazz version of each one.

  • Clay Aiken's always charming, funny, and memorable

by myshadowinvain on 3/14/11The Warfield - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen Clay in concert several times. Each time I see him perform live, I'm reminded of the reason why I never want to miss an opportunity to catch him on tour---he has such a powerful singing voice, plus he's charming and funny. I love his stage banter. He doesn't just sing to the audience, he also engages the audience in chitchat between songs.

I've been a fan of Clay's since AI. He was on stage 2 hours, had a great rapport with the audience. His voice sounded wonderful and I loved the songs.

  • Disappointed

by Clayfanny on 3/14/11The Warfield - San FranciscoRating: 2 out of 5

I was really disappointed. Clay was very laid back and too casual. He didn't do enough singing, and too much talking to the audience about nothing. This was his last date and it felt like he couldn't wait to get it over with. Girls s-c-r-e-a-m-i-n-g while he sang was irritating. I saw his performance on PBS and it was wonderful!!! I thought this was going to be the same calibur show and it was definitely not. I have waited to see him since he was on American Idol and can't believe how disappointed I am. What a shame.

Clay Aiken needs no fancy sets or special effects because he has a golden voice. His voice is simply pure. Every song he sang at this concert captured my heart and many who attended this concert agreed with me. I had a wonderful time and wish it didn't end. Hope Clay tours again soon! I'll miss his sense of humor too...

Clay was so personable with the audience. I felt that he loves to perform and was happy that he was there. He is a great singer and I did vote for him when he was on American Idol.

  • Clay Aiken was terrific

by FunMartyK on 3/14/11The Warfield - San FranciscoRating: 4 out of 5

He did a great job. I especially liked his interaction with the audience after a few songs and his jokes. I've seen him a couple of times and only wish he would sing Solitaire which he is absolutely FABULOUS at doing. I don't know why he doesn't sing it as it was a great sold out single which I missed but he sang it on one of his cd's. Incredible!

We really really enjoyed the show. Clay has a beautiful singing voice no matter what he sings. Also enjoyed the variety of songs he chose for his concert. Also his orchestra and gust singer were great. Next time less joking around and more songs.

  • Clay is an amazing vocalist

by Luluasst on 3/14/11The Warfield - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the show. Never been to the Warfield. Cool theatre inside and an open bar all night! Clay is an amazing singer. His voice filled the theatre. Also love that he takes time to talk to the audience. A lot of people don't do that. He is funny, snarky, appreciative of his fans and above all, an consummate entertainer!

  • Clay as usual was AMAZING!!!!

by Elzera on 3/14/11The Warfield - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

The Clay concert "Tried and True"was really amazing. He said this album was made for his Mother who had him singing all these old standards around the house all the years he was growing up. He wanted to give back to her for her love and support. He also did some stuff with digital manipulation showing the audince and explaining the difference between Analog sound and digital. It was so interesting. He said there's a growing interest of people who are going back to Analog because of it's richness and he also said a lot of performers out there now don't have to know how to sing it's done for them electronically. Then he did a demo. Talked the frist line of who's sorry now and they playe it back with the keyboard and it was so funny. he mimicked a Miley Sirus song and almost sounded just like her recording. So he gave a lot of good information to the audience too. He was so relaxed it was like he was in our living room. He was natural, his songs were wonderful,he has an amazing range, and he was VERY funny. He talked to the audience a lot, made fun of the 25 guys in the front 2 rows about being forced to attend with their wives, girlfriends, and the rest of the gay crowd. It was so funny. He has great comedic timing. Everyone was roaring in laughter. He singled out a little 4 yeard old and thanked him for sitting so still and being such a gentleman through all his slow boring songs. Then after while Clay stopped and went back to the little boy and appologized for waking him up. Conrad LOVED it too.All the way home he thanked me and talked about how great it was and his incredible singing. I took some video sound and a few pictures. Camera's were allowed. He thanked everyone for paying for a ticket to come see him live concidering they could all watch it on you tube in just 30mins.after this lady arrives home. He pionted to a lady in the audience and said to her I recognize your lens you have been to every show for the intire tour and then he she will post it soon.then everyone laughed. He was teasing with the audience about the postings.

  • Loved how he has matured

by Wondie on 3/12/11Verizon Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand PrairieRating: 5 out of 5

I absolutely loved this show. He sounded great (especially loved his selection of songs he sang - I grew up in that era) and he looked good (he complained about the weight he had gained, but truthfully, I think he looks so much better with the few pounds he has put on). I loved the way he intermingled with the audience and he was actually quit funny. Absolutely loved, loved, the show... Good job Clay - glad he is touring again and congratuations to him on becoming a new Dad... He will make a good one..

I had my ticket of course six months ago , it was my birthday present . Thrurday I went to hospitals, Friday morning had stints put in my heart. My only concerne how to brt out to see clay. With the help of a wonderful nurse Adora, I left the hospital just in time to get there. His voice is an angel in my ear, I close my eyes and the pure tone in his voice , my whole body is in heaven. The only other mail voice that sent me to heaven was Elvis And oh my god when he sang suspicious minds I lost it. I woud go to every show if I could, he connects to his audience so well. Venue was great, staff Was great, music out of this world Love you clay
