About

From an early age, Clay Aiken was recognized for his wonderful voice and natural ability as a live performer. After singing in the choir and in several musicals, Aiken attained national fame on the popular TV show American Idol. Though Aiken finished second in the competition to Ruben Studdard, Aiken soon had a recording contract and released his first single, the #1 hit "This Is the Night," within weeks of the show's end. This success was followed by the 2003 release of his double-platinum debut album, The Measure of a Man, which featured the hits "I Will Carry You" and "Invisible." Later that same year, Aiken won the Fan's Choice Award at the American Music Awards, proving millions of fans held the singer close to their hearts. 2004 saw the release of another smash hit for Aiken, the holiday album Merry Christmas with Love.

  • Clay Aiken at the Taj

Clay Aiken is the ULTIMATE PERFORMER!!! He puts the audience at ease; shows that he's a regular guy; and has a voice like an angel. I'd go to every concert in every city if I could!

  • Great Voice

I bought tickets to this concert not realizing it was a Xmas music concert. We all were very disaqppointed after Clay came out and we realized it was going to all be Xmas music. Clay has an excellent voice. I hope he puts on a regular concert soon in the Philly area.

I have attended previous Clay Aiken Christmas concerts and expected this to be of the same quality. It was far below my expectations. Clay missed several notes on many of the songs.. Clay left the stage numerous times to change and while this happened there were recorded stories playing. Very boring. There were no back up singers and the song choice was poor. Not lively and upbeat at all. The most disappointing part was the venue. It was a dump. Unclean, no ambience at all and not a holiday decoration in sight. I had hoped for so much more.

a fantastic singer that rivals Bing Crosby. I dont think theres any male than comes close to him as a singer.

  • Clay brings joy to the holidays!

I love Christmas. I love Christmas music. And I love Clay Aiken. So what better way to start the holidays than by combining all 3 of them. I started off the evening watching Clay do the countdown for the Christmas illuminations show at Boardwalk Hall. Then it was on to the Taj Mahal for Clay's Christmas show. He began the show with All Is Well, a beautiful song with a very difficult vocal range. I had heard that he was recovering from the flu, so I crossed my fingers and held my breath...but he hit every note. Did I notice a couple of off notes to his usually perfect voice during the evening? Yes... but I doubt that anyone else noticed. I have just heard him sing so often that I know when he hits a different note. But the bottom line is Clay on a bad day is better than most singers on their best day and there is no other singer that I would rather hear especially at Christmas than Clay Aiken.

Clay's shows are always beautiful and very entertaining. His near perfect vocals, quick wit and sense of humor combine for a great show. Clay sings with such emotion and control making every song his own. This show was no different.

As Raleigh-ites, we are extremely proud of our Clay. I watched him as he rose through the ranks of Idol and brought interest to our area. This is the first time since the show I have seen a full-length Clay concert. He had made various appearances in the area after his runner up final. I was very excited to see him!!! By the 3rd song, I was falling asleep. My daughter, 17, literally had her head on my shoulder and her eyes were closed. Clay’s voice is glorious and beautiful and strong. The songs…all Christmas songs…were very slow and mellow. The regular Christmas songs were sung slowly. The slow Christmas songs, well, they just inched along for days it seemed. They also had a campy, Vegas-y feel. I am sure he just wanted to showcase his awesome voice, but just went a little bit too far in his attempts. He has a very small but intense group of followers who have seen him numerous times. They seem to love this show. I enjoyed it, but eh, it didn’t fill me with joy and enthusiasm as a concert usually does. Also, even though this was a Christmas show, I have never seen an artist sing not. one. single. hit. He is adorably awkward on stage. His timing is sometimes just a nano-second off. You know, when you think you’re supposed to clap, and he starts talking, and throws you off, so that by the time he stops, the time to clap has passed. And speaking of talking, boy does he talk a lot. His show was a full two hours long. I suppose half was singing and half was talking. He also brought a “surprise” for the audience. Some girl named Keona who has be touring with him and I guess also appeared on Idol, though I don’t remember her. She certainly didn’t seem happy to be there. She missed her cue and we had to wait for her to make her way onto the stage, from the very back, in very high heels, and she acted like she seemed to be doing him a favor or something. Clay. Lose the girl. He also had a small orchestra with him who were phenomenal. Really outstanding. If you like Clay and you like Christmas songs, Go. Enjoy. This was my first and last Clay concert. I really am glad I got to see him at all. Checking that off my list.

  • Surprise! Clay Aiken is really funny!

by Bunnygirl13 on 12/3/12Trump Taj Mahal - Mark G. Etess Arena - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

Everyone knows the man can sing, but he is simply hilarious. The man behind us was laughing so hard that people were laughing at him - in a good way. After the show he said "That guy should be on television." I wasn't sure how I would like it, but I'd go again without hesitation. Fabulous.

The beautiful sounds of holiday music sung by Clay, accompanied by an orchestra; what more could you ask for? His voice ushered in the Christmas season. This concert was a perfect blend of holiday music and artist interaction as we were invited into this hometown hero's inner circle for a few hours. Pure bliss!

Clay Aiken has been a favorite of mine ever since he first appeared on American Idol and this show certainly did not disappoint. As a singer and as an entertainer, he has been blessed with the whole package. My friend and I were positively awestruck by his powerful renditions of a wide variety of Christmas songs selected from the traditional to contemporary. The orchestra was excellent as well and complemented Clay's beautiful voice so nicely. The four Christmas stories told (one by Clay's mother), with piano accompaniment were also very touching, sounding as if they came straight out of one of the "Chicken Soup for the Christmas Soul" books! The entire show was simply wonderful and all in attendance certainly got their money's worth and then some. Great performance, Clay--you continue to make North Carolina proud!

Clay Aiken's voice gets better every year. He's found his niche - "oldie goldies" with some new material included each concert. His Christmas show was fantastic and will leave great memories. Hope he does a Christmas show every year.

Clay Aiken has such an amazing range in his voice! And he can hold a not longer than anyone else I have heard. He has humor and is a gracious performer!! He is much loved by his Claymate followers as well as anyone who attends a concert. Christmas is his favorite time of year and he does quite well with both familiar and newr Christmas songs.

Clay Aiken presented a wonderful, warm concert of Haliday and Christmas favorites. Along with his conductor of the orhestra and the very good musicians, it was a fine evening of music and a few good stories thrown in for good measure.
