About

From an early age, Clay Aiken was recognized for his wonderful voice and natural ability as a live performer. After singing in the choir and in several musicals, Aiken attained national fame on the popular TV show American Idol. Though Aiken finished second in the competition to Ruben Studdard, Aiken soon had a recording contract and released his first single, the #1 hit "This Is the Night," within weeks of the show's end. This success was followed by the 2003 release of his double-platinum debut album, The Measure of a Man, which featured the hits "I Will Carry You" and "Invisible." Later that same year, Aiken won the Fan's Choice Award at the American Music Awards, proving millions of fans held the singer close to their hearts. 2004 saw the release of another smash hit for Aiken, the holiday album Merry Christmas with Love.

Unchained Melody a performance that has never and will never be matched by anyone, anywhere at any time in the past or the future. In concert...PBS special...don't miss it, you will not regret it for second.

  • Clay Aiken was in best voice ever last Friday!

by claylily on 3/16/10Progress Energy Center - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

I was at the taping for the PBS show with Clay Aiken on Friday night. I have been following Clay since he first appeared on Idol in 2003 and have always known that his voice is fantastic. However, Friday night was the best voice I have ever heard come from that man. He looked handsome and very happy. I am so very glad that I had the opportunity to be a part of this very special night for Clay. Lillian

This was a night I will never forget. Clay's voice was better than ever and the ending of Unchained Melody was 'OUT OF THIS WORLD"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Clay Aiken was astounding

by Montanaluvsclay on 3/16/10Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was the most professional event I have ever attended. The orchestra, the lighting, and the amazing singing from Clay Aiken was breathtaking. I can hardly wait until it airs on PBS. Clay has an amazing voice and his snarky humor makes him the ultimate entertainer.

  • Clay Aiken was spectacular

by royalle on 3/16/10Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

The Clay Aiken show was a jolt. His voice is spectacular, seemingly better than the last time I saw him in concert. Aiken was relaxed, funny, personal, interacted with his guests and the audience, but the highlight to me was his magnificent voice. Concert was too short and I can hardly wait til June when his Tried and True cd will be released.

  • CLAY WAS MORE THAN AMAZING!

by Jenarra on 3/15/10Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

This was the first Clay Aiken event I have ever attended. He definitely did not disappoint, and I will go to any concert that comes anywhere close to my hometown (drove 14 hours for this one!) any time in the future. Cannot WAIT to see him perform again!!!

  • Unbelievable Performace

by emilyjane on 3/15/10Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

This was by far the best concert I have ever seen. Clay's power and strength in his vocals were astonishing. The new arrangement of Unchained Melodies.. was by far the show stopper. He raised the bar to the highest level. Congratulating Clay Aiken. Perfectly done!

  • Nobody can sing like that!

by CArte on 3/15/10Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

This was a fabulous show! Who knew Clay Aiken could sing like that? I didn't think anybody could sing as well as he did that night. His voice and personality were amazing! I hear he has a CD coming out soon with the same music. I can't wait to own it.

  • He's BACK, and in a BIG way!

by Mad4Clay on 3/15/10Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

THIS was the NIGHT! He was INCREDIBLE! I had been worried about his voice for some time now. He seemed to be having problems in certain appearances. It made me wonder what was wrong. That worry dissappeared as began belting out "Mack The Knife" on his opening song. This song and many that he sang that night will appear on his upcoming album "Tried and True". This concert was also being recorded for a PBS special. So that was also exciting. To think about the fact we will be able to see it again, is AWESOME! We will be able to relive this incredible evening with Clay. I can't wait. This was a one night only concert.

I saw Clay in person two times during his Idol days...wow...he is so much more improved!! Loved his surprises...seeing Ruben and him coming out into the audience and moving the lady from Nebraska. Great night all in all.

Very well done, professional show. Clay has one of the best voices in the business.

Excellent concert! Dramatic lighting and the mix of jazz and big band arrangments for the eclectic selection of songs made for a fabulous show - Of course, that voice was the star!

  • Clay Aiken - Breathtaking

by SoozeRuse on 3/15/10Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

I don't think that are words that can fully describe the Tried and True concert performed on March 12th. What an amazing event - from the set design, to the lighting, to the orchestration, to the special guests. But foremost, the vocal talent and personality of Clay Aiken. This is the Clay that millions fell in love with in 2003, only better. He has grown as a performer and as a singer and his vocal abilities rival the greats. He is a musician in the truest sense of the word. This particular performance was taped to be shown on PBS. I highly recommend that anyone who was unable to attend this concert be sure that they tune in - it is a not to be missed performance.

  • Clay Aiken-What a voice!!

by SRIFAN on 3/15/10Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

What a night!! I was blown away by that voice. I have enjoyed Clay Aiken's music ever since I saw him on American Idol, but this concert surpassed all of the others I have been to. I am so glad it will be made into a PBS special so that I will be able to see it again. It's also great that those who were not in attendance will be able to see this very talented man perform. I hope that Clay will be back on the touring circuit soon--he has been missed--there is no one out there like him.

  • There is nothing like Clay Aiken LIVE!!!!

by kwhite1022 on 3/15/10Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

Clay is soon to be hitting the touring curcuit again, and I was lucky enough to go to his one night only preview of his new upcoming album. If you fell in love with his voice on Idol, but missed him singing to his full potential, then get thee to his next stop in your area! This is the way he was always meant to be heard, backed by a 20 piece "big band" with blaring horns and subtle strings. I have seen him perform many times, and I dont think his voice has ever been better....and thats saying alot. Without ruining some of the surprises, Ill just say that he maintains his power, but has more control with his notes then ever. He also, remains extremely funny and quick with his wit and humor.

Clay's voice is still fantastic. He covered music from my parents' time and brought tears to my eyes. Not only can he sing; he is also great on stage interacting with the audience.

  • by MeriLena on 3/15/10Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

I can't say enough what an AMAZING talent Clay Aiken is!!! This was, by far, my favorite concert of his!! I'm hoping that the next one is just as great, cuz I'll be there!! What a force to be reckoned with!!! His voice is powerful and beautiful! He is funny, endearing, sexysexysexy! Such stage presence and wit!! The songs were classics re-done and sounded better than the originals. I'm just so happy I was lucky enough to be there!

  • Clay Aiken was fantastic!

by Booksmart on 3/15/10Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

I think this was one of the best concerts I have ever attended. Guests Linda Edder and Ruben Studdard were great additions to the show. Aiken's voice was better than ever and he is amazing live.
