Clay and Ruben were amazing. They should have a TV special together.
These two guys were very entertaining. Their attempts at comedy were cute, and their voices are fabulous! They have good chemistry!
The show, which was reminiscent of the old TV comedy/variety show, was hilarious as well as musically excellent. Both Clay and Ruben can sing like nobody's business, so the comic timing and the excellence of the singing were a real treat. They make a great team. I'd love to see more material like this.
This really isn't a concert so much as a musical review. It plays upon several themes: the rivalry between Clay and Ruben (when it actually turns out that they seem to be the best of friends), Clay's lack of skills in dancing (which is played for laughs), and the music of different decades, from the 60's to the 90's. There are several medleys from each decade, but yet Clay and Ruben both get to show their outstanding vocal abilities with solos. The backing vocalists, Quiana Parler and Casey Thompson, also get solos as well. Everything is "scripted," and yet there is also a lot of improv involved. The show flows very smoothly, with no intermission. I found myself looking at my watch at the end of the show and finding that two hours flew by that quickly. I enjoyed myself immensely, and would love to see it again.
This was one of my favorite Clay Aiken concerts EVER. The rapport between Clay and Ruben was put on display in a manner that left no doubt they are great friends! Both men have outstanding voices and their song choices showed the range of their talent. Clay is hysterically funny - seemingly without effort - and his constant ad-libbing was even cracking Ruben up! This was good old-fashioned entertainment!
Clay and Ruben put on an incredible show. If you haven't had a chance to see these two fantastic singers perform together, hurry up and buy a ticket! You won't be disappointed!!!
Not since the OMG concert and before that, Spamalot, have I experienced a most joyous 2 hours of entetainment. Clay and Ruben were in fantastic voice and rapport and humor. I heard a new song (to me anyway) "More Than a Feeling" which was WOW! Cannot wait until I see them again in BIloxi/
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!! THERE'S NOTHING THAT COMPARES TO HEARING CLAY LIVE! iT WAS MY FIRST TIME i'D SEE RUBEN LIVE, AND HE WAS AWESOME. i LOVED THE COMBINATION OF THE TWO. THEY REALLY PLAY WELL OF OF EACH OTHER. CLAY WAS TOTALLY AWESOME! HIS VOICE IS OUT OF THIS WORLD, AND HE WAS ABSOLUTELY HYSTERICAL. LOVE THE GUY. I WANT MORE CLAY.....SOON!!!!!.
Clay Aiken and Ruben Stoddard were amazing and fabulous singers and fantastic entertainers. Have seen Clay Aiken numerous times the past seven years, and he leaves you wanting more. He has the most beautiful voice as far as I am concerned!
You can be a fan of Clay or Ruben or American Idol...or you can just be a fan of good music. It doesn't matter. This show is a total blast! Clay and Ruben have SO much fun playing off of each other -- two complete goofballs, whose friendship and affection for each other is genuine and obvious. You'd think they were brothers, the way they tease each other. I was waiting for one to give the other a wedgie and get a noogie in return. Ruben looks and sounds great! He's lost a great deal of weight, his breathing techniques are so much better, and he's hitting and sustaining notes with more power than I thought he had! And Clay? Lawd, Lawd, he's still the Clay we know and love, only better....much, much better. He hit notes that only dogs can hear! (OK, but they were really, really high.) Great tone, always pitch-perfect, incredible range, and he still loves to show off his breath control with 3-minute glory notes! Plus he is still the Snarkmeister Extraordinaire...just ask Alex from the front row. Talented backup singers Quiana Parler and Casey Thompson performed their solo numbers beautifully, and provided some cool harmony on these songs from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. The band is terrific! Nice to see Felix/drummer again! This show is full of great fun, awesome music, and loads of talent. DO NOT MISS IT!
This show exceeded our expectations! Clay and Ruben were in outstanding form and the show was delightfully entertaining. These two men have wonderful voices and their comedic timing is great. What a terrific idea to showcase their talents into the "sixties, seventies, eighties & nineties". We would definitely go and see them again.
Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this concert. I have a new appreciation for Ruben's voice and Clay was fantastic. The humor was great and it's obvious they are very good friends in addition to both being very talented performers. Glad to see Clay performing on the West Coast again and hope he keeps coming back for more. My only criticism is that the show was 2 hours long and I'm greedy.....I wanted 2 more hours.
I was dissappointed when my tickets arrived and Rueben Studdard was on the bill (this wasnt mentioned when I bought the tickets) I thought I could just skip Ruebens part but the whole show was intermixed with the two of them. The music was from the 50's to the 90's with excellant song choices by both. They were interacting the entire show and were very entertaining. The both sang very well some times together sometimes alone. Great music and singing and very funny interaction what more could you ask for. LOVE YOU CLAY
Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard were phenomenal together at the Silver Legacy in Reno. They beautifully sang individually and together, supported by two great female singers, and sang numerous songs from the 60's to the 90's. The concert went over 2 1/4 hours and was thoroughly enjoyable. I will definitely see them in concert again, what a pairing of voices and talent - praise God!
I have always been a silent fan of Clay's!!! My family however knows I think he is the best---my favorite singer. I'm a grama Claymate from the beginning! It was my first time to see him in person and I would love to see him at least once a year. The show with Clay and Ruben was FUNNY, sounded wonderful and was truly TIMELESS---the name of the show! Thanks Clay for sharing your beautiful voice with all of us, your FANS!
The show was fantastic! The audience erupted with tremendous applause, standing, and cheering when Clay entered the stage outshadowing Ruben. Ruben was great, don't get me wrong, but judging by the amount of appreciative noise for Clay, I would way that 80% of the people were there to see Clay. Both of them interacted quite well, kept the show moving, and paced each other very well. The show was two solid hours of great singing and clever sparring between the two. I hope these two come back again in the future.
Clay and reuben were phenominal, they sang what you wanted to hear. They were on stage for over two hours no break just great music, They sang together they each sang great songs separately. The comedy routines were fresh and funny, Although I am a Clay fan, Reuben singing his AI style was great . GO ENJOY you won't be dissappointed
I've never been entertained the way I've been entertained last Saturday, July 31 at the Silver Legacy in Reno during Clay Aiken's concert. I enjoyed every bit of it, and the travel from Stockton to Reno was well worth it. The selection of songs, which were for all ages, was fantastic. The chemistry, rapport and in-sync performance of Clay, Ruben, Quiana, Casey and the band are beyond my expectation. Now I'm back home and that performance will linger on my mind as I dream about it in my sleep. The venue was very convenient for me.
My husband and I were amazed and thrilled to see Clay and Ruben together. Their show was nonstop entertaining. The band and backup singers were exceptional which added to the professionalism of the show. We liked the way Clay and Ruben interacted with each other. Besides their obvious talent, the humor was a great surprise. We traveled all the way from Sonoma County just to hear them and we're still smiling.
I loved Clay Aiken. He was funny, entertaining and could sing better than anyone Ive ever listened to. OMG! He was wonderful.
