About

From an early age, Clay Aiken was recognized for his wonderful voice and natural ability as a live performer. After singing in the choir and in several musicals, Aiken attained national fame on the popular TV show American Idol. Though Aiken finished second in the competition to Ruben Studdard, Aiken soon had a recording contract and released his first single, the #1 hit "This Is the Night," within weeks of the show's end. This success was followed by the 2003 release of his double-platinum debut album, The Measure of a Man, which featured the hits "I Will Carry You" and "Invisible." Later that same year, Aiken won the Fan's Choice Award at the American Music Awards, proving millions of fans held the singer close to their hearts. 2004 saw the release of another smash hit for Aiken, the holiday album Merry Christmas with Love.

  • Show was great...venue not so much!

by LegEd on 8/12/10Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

It's a good thing the show ended up being terrific, because I have never been to a more poorly managed event! I will NEVER attend another event at the Manhattan Center! That aside, once the show started it was great. There is a great rapport between Clay and Ruben, and it was just fun. It was not "I'm going to sing a few of my songs, then he's going to sing a few of his."

  • Clay and Ruben belong together

by acjunkie on 8/12/10Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Clay and Ruben were like Martin and Lewis. Show was great. Venue was not. Assigned seats were not assigned, had to find whatever you could. Audio was not the best. But Clay and Ruben made up for it all

  • So so good to see these guys together again!

by zumbaqueen on 8/11/10Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton BeachRating: 5 out of 5

I was one of the original Claymates and bordered on the fanatic (and there were thousands of those too!) I have always liked Clay in concert because he has such a natural and funny personality, but during his early years post-Idol, he had to sing songs that others wanted him to sing, not what was most suited to him. FINALLY - now that he's free from Idol, he's recorded a great album and is on a terrific tour that suits him to a tee, and with his bujddy Ruben, has produced a gem of a show. I'm actually surprised (and delighted) by how funny and personable Ruben is - much more evolved from his earlier years. The two of them have a wonderful chemistry. And the songs were suited to them - yes, they sang their Idol selected first singles (UGH! to the songs, not the singers), but then they sang great songs from various decades with their contrasting styles and song choices. The female singers were great - I did not know the blonde woman (and she was very good), but Quiana has always toured with Clay and IMHO her voice is better than any of the divas out there - she is better than Whitney was at her peak (years ago). So - great show - except for the following: the volume was too high which obscured the sound quality; it was hot (the venue's fault) and as usual at Clay's concerts there were some annoying audience members who stood up and swayed blocking people's views, and shouted out at quiet moments (and they're not just the young women!). But back to the show -- if you get a chance to see it, whether or not you have followed Clay's and Ruben's careers, I would encourage you to attend because it is a wonderful night of laughs and great singing!

  • Terrific show

by bernerhs on 8/11/10Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Clay and Rubin both have amazing voices and charisma on stage. They did medleys of well known songs grouped by the decade, along with individual performances that fit each performer"s style well. Wonderful show!

  • Clay and Ruben

by PNKN on 8/11/10Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton BeachRating: 4 out of 5

Great singing but a little too much comedic routine. Wish they actually sang thier hits in full and not broken into a medly.

  • Clay and Ruben have it together!

by claiken on 8/11/10Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton BeachRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen Clay several times in concert so I knew pretty much what to expect from him, but I didn't expect last night. Both Clay and Ruben were in top form, they sounded amazing and the banter was priceless! They genuinely like and respect each other and the camaraderie was very nice to see. They are great entertainers (especially Clay) and I hope they come back to Hampton soon!

  • Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard

by Maneatsburrito on 8/11/10Silver Legacy Casino - RenoRating: 5 out of 5

All I have to say is OH MY GOD! Sinatra and Martin have been channeled! I can't think of another show with sooooooo much talent and so much chemistry between the performers! LOVE IT!

  • clay and ruben were awesome !

great show ! they sang medleys of songs from each decade broken up with skits and light banter.

  • Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard are awesome

by marilyon on 8/11/10The MGM Grand at Foxwoods - MashantucketRating: 5 out of 5

This show is awesome. Clay AIken is supremely gifted as a singer, and Ruben Studdard is great, too. The two of them have the most hysterical sense of humor, and the show was put together extremely well. Scanning the decades from the 60's to the 90's, there are medleys from each, along with full songs sung by both of the stars. There is also a sketch about a revival -dont miss it. My sides hurt from laughing all night, and my smile was affixed to my face- this show is so much fun. It should be in Vegas or on Television. EVERYONE should see this- I can guarantee a good time.

  • fun

by jlmur on 8/11/10Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton BeachRating: 5 out of 5

It was cheesy, as expected, but that made it a really fun concert. Both Ruben and Clay have amazing voices and their vocals were spot on. The only criticism is that it was hard to hear Ruben most of the time because of his deep voice. The sound in the venue also wasn't great. Some of the banter could have been cut down. Clay is a great comedian, but Ruben just isn't as funny.

  • Clay and Ruben were magic together!

by beglad on 8/11/10Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton BeachRating: 5 out of 5

This show totally exceeded my expectations! It wasn't just music, it was entertainment, comedy, dancing (even Clay!) and just a great evening. I'd love to see it again and I didn't want it to end. The girls were great too, as was the band. They played non-stop for 2 1/2 hours and did a real trip down memory lane with music from the 70's, 80's, 90's and today. Simply LOVED it! Hope to see more of them in the future.

  • Clay Aiken Ruben Studdard Concert - Amazing

by Anonymous on 8/11/10Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton BeachRating: 5 out of 5

My husband was not looking forward to attending this concert, but even he had to admit the show was so entertaining. Lots of comic relief, could not get enough of the perfomances of all members. Their talents as singers in unquestioned, but above that they are entertainers in every sense of the word. I had not attended the Hampton Beach Casino before, but I will definately go back.

  • Very Entertaining!

by greeneyes33 on 8/11/10Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton BeachRating: 4 out of 5

My girlfriend and I went to see Clay and Ruben last night. It was the first time we went to the Hampton Beach Casino and was very disappointed in the seating. It was very packed in at very small tables - but then the show started! Clay and Rubin were awesome - the band and the two female singers were very good as well. The banter between Rubin and Clay was very entertaining and refreshing. We didn't enjoy the medley of songs as much as when they sang an entire song, however, it was very good. Thanks Clay and Rubin for putting a smile on our faces, your wonderful voices, and for a very entertaining evening. GreenEyes

  • Disappointment again for Clay fans!

by terrirs on 8/10/10The MGM Grand at Foxwoods - MashantucketRating: 3 out of 5

Clay looked great (as did Reuben) both lost weight. Clay looked like the idol we all fell in love with. I really enjoyed the comedy and song selections. The disappointement was that Reuben definitely outsang Clay. I am a big Clay fan and have been waiting for something like what we saw in "Idol" and "Measure of a Man", As Simon would have said Clay was "pitchy" a lot of the time.

  • They make a great team.

by Marsie on 8/10/10The MGM Grand at Foxwoods - MashantucketRating: 5 out of 5

This was by far the best performance I have seen in a long time. They really complemented each other. The music was up lifting and sounded like the original recordings. The combination of musical program and humor made for an enjoyable evening. We are very glad that we attended.

  • Clay & Reuben were awewome together

by clayfan4ever on 8/9/10The MGM Grand at Foxwoods - MashantucketRating: 5 out of 5

Saw the concert at MGM Grand and really enjoyed it. I've always been a Clay Aiken fan but Reuben really surprised me. His weight loss has helped his vocals a lot and he can even dance around the stage without getting winded as he used to. These two seem to really be good friends and play very well off of each other. This concert had everything, great music, humor, high energy, great back-up singers and two very talented guys.

  • The BEST EVER!!

by Anonymous on 8/9/10The MGM Grand at Foxwoods - MashantucketRating: 5 out of 5

This was one of the best concerts I have seen. Clay and Ruben were amazing. They played off of each other and it was a delight. The upbeat concert with songs from the 60s through the 90s was so fast paced the time flew by too quickly. I have always been a hugh Clay fan and now I can add Ruben to that list.

  • Totally Awesome

by LollyH on 8/9/10The MGM Grand at Foxwoods - MashantucketRating: 5 out of 5

The show was wonderful and entertaining from start to finish. As always, Clay's voice is wonderful to behold and we were pleased to hear Reuben do so well, and think that he has improved since American Idol. We hope that Clay will have a concert of his own again soon, as we can never hear enough from him.

  • What a show!

by Claymate08 on 8/9/10The MGM Grand at Foxwoods - MashantucketRating: 5 out of 5

I was blown away! This show was not what I was expecting, and I was pleasently surprised by the outline of the show. Clay and Ruben were amazing in that they kept the audience laughing practically the entire time and were mesmerizing with their voices. I waited three years to see Clay Aiken again and it was worth the wait, and more than I could have ever wanted.
