Churchill Downs Thurby Tickets

We are also planning to go back next year! We would spend a little more money to go into a suite though.

We had an absolutely amazing time at Thurby! It was our first experience going to Churchill Downs and participating in any Derby activities and this was a great opportunity. We had club level seats that I purchased the day they went on sale. We were lucky enough to be just under cover as it was HOT that day. We were very close to the finish line which added to the excitement!! Lines for food and drink (and the bathroom) peaked midday as many more people began to arrive, but they were well staffed, and did their best to keep everything running smoothly. Drinks were a bit pricey, but not unexpected For the event and venue I would highly recommend Thurby to anyone given the chance to attend

A life time experience ever. If you are in town & derby excites you start off with thurby & you won't regret 😉

It was a nice experience except for the food and lines. The food was not very good and the lines for drinks were incredibly long.

I didn't like the fact that we couldn't go into other areas that were still on the level we paid for. We had a lot of friends in other areas but we couldn't visit with them. Staying in our section all day made for a boring day.

We have been to Thurby Several times and always have a Great Time! We love the venue and the transportation to get to Churchill Downs was very easy by catching a free bus ride from Freedom Hall that takes us to and from Churchill Downs. What I was very disappointed with was they didn't allow us to bring food into the venue this year but they did last year. Also did not like the set up of the wrist bands. I understand the reasoning for it and I did appreciate that it kept people away from our area that didn't belong it wasn't handled well with the ticket machine in the middle that made it very difficult to get thru the crowd once you did get your wrist band. Also the bathrooms were not kept clean and were not supplied with toilet paper. I did think the lines for drinks and betting moved quickly and we did love our seats! Churchill Downs is Beautiful!

Great, but the weather was hot! The changes to the place was the best

Like how easy it was to purchase a ticket…don’t like how Ticketmaster has run up prices on everything it’s involved with…

Beautiful track. Ticket prices much higher than prior years. Tickets all inclusive for food and beverage. Couldn’t get near a free drink all day. Bathrooms (women) were horrendous. Multiple toilets not flushing. Supplies not stocked during the event. Cigar smoke not pleasant while in seats.

Needed to transfer tickets to a friend, went very smooth!

I have experienced Thurby prior even the Oaks and Derby. I was disappointed in the access at the track as it was more limited then what I had experienced before and then the access points were a nightmare to utilize the digital screening and to obtain the appropriate wrist band or other credentials, it was a nightmare and not enjoyable at all. Could not access the infield the activity to contain entertainment in the parking lot is not a Churchill Downs experience. Seems like Churchill is becoming all about how many people can we cram in to obtain as much revenue as we can. As a local I am disappointed.

Speaker was so loud we couldn’t talk. They didn’t announce the races on the screen. People don’t sit in seats block the aisles. But other than that it was nice. This was my 3rd year going to Thurby my seats were better in the past. Not as loud

WE attended Thurby this year and the lines for drinks and betting were much better than the past. You should never wait in a long line to bet or pay for over priced drinks. The new paddock was very nice also. The biggest issue I had was the lack or organization to board the busses at the fair grounds. You had lines merging together and people cutting. I waited in line 50 minutes to catch the bus and saw people walk right up and cut in line and lines merging. The bus set up is great, just need more organization on the lines to get to them.

Our tickets were on the second floor of the first turn club house. Lines for food were few & long, I waited over an hour & finally got out of line, never ate because of the long wait times. Getting an adult beverage or a soft drink was the same, wait wait wait. I did not expected to wait hours for food or drink. Non alcoholic drinks should also be included for $150.00, I’ll be getting tickets on first floor next year, accommodations were much better on first floor for $25 more for tickets. We made the best of it, still had fun, always do at Churchill Downs!🌹

Food and drinks included in Turn 1 seats sounds great. The reality is that the lines are incredibly long. You will miss multiple races. While you wait in line there are no TV's in sight either. I feel like I payed for food and drinks in the ticket but couldn't access what was payed for. They do have self serve soda/water refrigerators but the items were warm, quickly ran out and were not restocked. This venue has so much potential but really disappointed.

First Turn is a great place to watch the races. With video boards and comfortable shaded seating was a great day. Churchill can improve on one thing: access to Food and Beverages. 45 minutes to wait for a drink or a slice of pizza is simply too long. And, the restrooms are too small for the crowd (glad I was not a woman in this location). I realize that part of the F&B paring has to be limited, but we missed two races (at least put a TV above the lines). And, add more queuing. Again great day, just hope Oaks and Derby were better for the guests.

Food and drink was still too expensive. We are a captive audience, no need to over charge us for food and drink. I ordered several drinks for my party on multiple occasions, sometimes I got the fancy glass but sometimes I didn't and I don't know why.... very inconsistent service

The weather was great at Churchill Downs! The people we great at Churchill Doens! The Staff was great at Churchill Downs! The horses and Jockeys were great at Churchill Downs!! The City of Louisville, Ky Rocks!!!
