Christopher Cross made history when his debut self-titled album was released in 1980. The album featured the international hit songs Sailing, Run Like the Wind and Never Be The Same. It went on to win five Grammy Awards, including—for the first time ever—the four most prestigious awards: Record of the Year (for the single “Sailing”), Album of the Year, Song of the Year (also for “Sailing”), and Best New Artist. An extraordinary song writer, Cross wrote all these songs and another of the most famous songs of the time - “Arthurs Theme (The best that you can do)” which he co-wrote with Burt Bacharach & Peter Allen and featured in the film Arthur that starred Liza Minelli and Dudley Moore. Arthur’s Theme won the 1981 Academy Award for Best Original Song.
Christopher Cross has also worked with some music greats and shared the stage with some music icons – from Mike McDonald – who sang backing vocals on Ride Like The Wind through to singing backing vocals with Carl Wilson on David Lee Roth’s version of California Girls.
Early in his career Christopher Cross and his band were the opening band for Led Zeppelin and Jethro Tull whilst in 1970 he subbed in for Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple for a show in San Antonio.
Thirty years since his stellar debut into the music business, Cross continues recording and touring across the nation, stopping at venues such as the Depot (Salt Lake City). He has released multiple albums and continued to contribute to film and tv soundtracks – including shows such as 30 Rock (he wrote Lemon’s Theme for the soundtrack).
His most recent album, Secret Ladder was released in 2014. The 13 track album, influenced by the likes of Joni Mitchell and Randy Newman, was written mostly with Rob Meurer and again Cross has worked with the finest musicians including bassist Will Lee (of the Fab Faux and Late Night with David Letterman), drummer Keith Carlock (Steely Dan and Toto), guitarist Eric Johnson, saxophonist David Mann, and vocalists Michael McDonald and Jeff Foskett (Brian Wilson’s musical director.

Songs brought back good memories, ... but story-telling was tremendous...
My husband and I had a great time Christopher was great! He was funny and the theater was nice. We had good seats, it was a great night out. We really enjoyed ourselves.
It was wonderful to see Christopher Cross looking great and sounding as good as ever. His patter between songs was delightful and it was a very entertaining evening.
Center Stage is an older venue, and arguably, a bit run down. But with that said, this was one of the best concerts I’ve attended in a while, and by far, the best value for the price. Christopher Cross performed all of his great hits and performed for about 2 hours. Couldn’t have asked for better!
We thought Christopher Cross was great - we didn't know only about 1/2 dozen songs, but enjoyed the others as well, and loved the comedian that came out in him.
Christopher Cross has an amazing voice, strong, tight band and great backup singers. He was great in talking with the audience - he is wonderful to see in concert!! Loved the show!!
The music was unbelievable! Christopher cross was soo good in person and looking forward to seeing him again!!! The band-saxophone player and backup singers were great!
Christopher Cross is better than ever. He represents all that's great about music. A musician's musician!
Christopher Cross was amazing! We would definitely see him again! He was worth it! However, the venue and ticketmaster sold our seats to someone else and it was a headache to get it figured out. The line to get a drink was so long and they had one bartender, even for soda or water. The Ushers were frazzled. For a small venue, it should have run a lot more efficient.
Wonderful performance in a venue that is in my estimation; the best acoustics to see any musician! It's also small and intimate and parking is readily available for no cost. Easy in and out and home within minutes.
Overall, solid concert. Very, very disappointed that he didn't play Think of Laura.
Our seats were located (if you’re facing the stage) the farthest to the left 6 rows up. We could see Christopher Cross but could not see over half of the left side of the stage and totally NO view of the big screen that was showing photos/videos. I have always wanted to go to your venue and finally were able to go, but unfortunately was totally disappointed. You could have at least listed those seats as “partial view only”, especially because they were not at any discounted price. Very sad.
In 1979 I was a senior in high school then college. I literally wore out his first album. While playing the album the Sunday before this concert in Ponte Vedra, my 19 year old son Bennett noticed that he was scheduled to be there but I knew I was scheduled to fly back home from Orlando that same day. Bennett said, "You're going"! I did not fly back but rented a car to go to the concert. As a result at least one life changing thing is developing for myself and something else to help another. As I listen again to the lyrics of his songs it is amazing how close they replicate what I am going through right now. Christopher Cross is a Spirit filled man and I thank him for following His inspirations.
Great music, great night. Although the PVConcert Hall is flat, the stage is a good height for viewing the band. Chairs are comfortable and rows far enough apart to give walking and stretching room. Impressed by management, because other venues can sell more tickets by putting rows so close that legs are sometimes uncomfortable. I'm no computer whiz and in my 70's and unsure enough that I checked many times to make sure that my mobile ticket would work. We were told that was the ONLY way to get into the show, which wound up being not true as we were behind many people with paper tickets. As long as Ticketmaster lets us get in with tickets able to be sent to our phones as a text, guess I'll be okay. But I like having a piece of paper in my hand as a ticket even if I have to down load it. I save them as reminders/ souvenirs of who I've seen and when.
We like Christopher Cross music but did not realize how talented he is musically as well as his band. It was a very enjoyable evening.
Christopher Cross was amazing! The show started promptly, the theater is beautiful and performance amazing! Very well organized! VIP was great service please continue doing a great job. Congratulations to the whole team!
Think of Laura and many many of his great hits were left unplayed. Think of Laura has always had very emotional personal meaning to me since my son died suddenly of meningitis at 18, so that was very disappointing to me. My wife and I found ourselves enjoying the concert immensely when he played his hits and a bit bored otherwise, which seemed like 70% of the concert to us. So many awesome hits, why not play them?
I heard him on the Sail across the Sun cruise..(of course I knew him) It was superb, so I figured in a concert hall such as Performing Arts, he would be incredible! And, he was!! I enjoyed him as well as his incredible band. Horn player knocked me out!
Christopher Cross sounded great! I loved that he started and ended on time and played Sailing a couple of songs into the concert.
