About

Exciting news for fans going to Buddy’s sold out shows at Palais Theatre, Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram has been announced as the support act.

That means they’ll get to see the next generation of American blues artists opening for the last of the greats.

Ingram’s journey began in the 662 in the city of Clarksdale, in Coahoma County, Mississippi, just ten miles from the legendary crossroads of Highways 61 and 49. Born to a musical family, he fell in love with music as a small child, initially playing drums and then bass. At a young age, he got his first guitar and quickly soaked up music from Robert Johnson to Lightnin’ Hopkins, from B.B. King to Muddy Waters, from Jimi Hendrix to Prince, but all the while developing his own sound and style.

Since the release of Kingfish, his Grammy-nominated 2019 Alligator Records debut, guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Christone “Kingfish” Ingram has quickly become the defining blues voice of his generation.

662 is the next chapter in the still-unfolding story of Christone “Kingfish” Ingram. He describes 662 as his own personal journey, a story that sits upon the legacy of his influential blues elders. The songs—reflecting his life in and away from his home in the Delta—speak to universal truths, as well as to similar experiences shared by his large and growing multi-generational, multi-cultural fan base. From the blistering, hometown title track, 662, to the irresistible She Calls Me Kingfish to the slow, soulful and poignant Another Life Goes By to the funky truth-telling Too Young To Remember662 overflows with hard-hitting songs, jaw-dropping guitar work and deep, soul-possessed vocals. NPR Music says Ingram’s playing is “astounding…it’s almost like he’s singing through the guitar.”

The best guitarist I have EVER listened too!

by Suzy Q on 3/3/20XL Live - Harrisburg

This was our first time seeing Chris Kingfish and he blew us away with his talent!!. I can’t express how amazing he is playing the guitar and he singing. He is 21 and plays like someone who has been in the business for 30 year! He reminds me of Jimmy Hendricks. I know his career will soar and I’m glad I got to see him now. May God bless him and his band everyday. They are TRULY amazing. If you haven’t seen him, don’t delay. You will not be disappointed and will be writing a review like this!!! We LOVED the concert!!!

    LEGEND OF THE FUTURE

    by Beargirl69 on 3/2/20XL Live - Harrisburg

I was able to see Kingfish at Peach Music Festival, then at the BB King tribute show, in Port Chester NY a few weeks ago, and this week at Club XL Live in Harrisburg. The Tribute show, he was handed, Lucille, to play. BB would have been proud. The look on Christone's face, left us all tearing up. His show at Club XL, opened with the Peterson Brothers. These two, were fantastic, up and coming, young, future legend material. Kingfish, left the stage and went right into the audience, at Club XL. The tickets, cheaper and the venue allows for an up close and personal experience. As our legends are passing, look to Kingfish, and several future legends, for generations to come and enjoy. The influence of those old legends is so apparent. Marcus King, Billy Strings, Taz, are also a few to go check out, if you haven't. Some great music happening, that isn't on your top 40 radio stations. Thank you for a great show! Cannot wait to see where it goes. I was able to get a picture and signed merch. He was super kind and was well received.

by Justin on 3/2/20XL Live - Harrisburg

Kingfish played nothing short of 2 hours and provided many memorable moments in addition to his ridiculous talent. Go see him, you won't be disappointed.

    Incredible performance!!

by Old fogey blues on 3/2/20XL Live - Harrisburg

I prefer slow blues guitar but even with my limited knowledge, I could appreciate and marvel at this young man’s energetic performance!! He played for a solid two hours, only stopping long enough to do a quick tune of his guitars. At one point he spent 15 minutes walking thru the crowd, walking up stairs to a second level balcony area and never missed a note!!! He was gracious and told the audience several times how much he appreciated our attendances. How refreshing!!! He is definitely someone to watch and remember his name! Christone Kingfish Ingram!!

Christone Kingfish Ingram is on fire

by Letha on 3/2/20XL Live - Harrisburg

I’ve seen Kingfish at a blues festival in Clearwater last year and just saw him perform multiple times on the Joe Bonamassa KTBA at Sea Cruise This February and played with Buddy Guy, Joe and many other big names and he can hold his own with the greats. He’s already the cream of the crop and just 21. This kid has a bright future. If you like blues and have the opportunity to see Kingfish live and don’t seize the chance, seek help.

A new guitar god has arisen - all hail the KINGFISH!

by DaveInAustin on 11/17/19Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - Austin

Witnessing the emergence of a world-class musical talent is rare enough. When that talent is embodied in a larger-than-life 20 year old guitar prodigy from Mississippi, it is a moment to remember for years to come. Having been one of the earliest followers of local blues artist Gary Clark Jr I can speak from experience: Christone 'Kingfish' Ingram is the real deal. His talent is breathtaking to watch as he plays with the skill of someone decades older. Currently on a whirlwind US tour, catch him if and while you can - you will tell your children about this one.
