About

Exciting news for fans going to Buddy’s sold out shows at Palais Theatre, Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram has been announced as the support act.

That means they’ll get to see the next generation of American blues artists opening for the last of the greats.

Ingram’s journey began in the 662 in the city of Clarksdale, in Coahoma County, Mississippi, just ten miles from the legendary crossroads of Highways 61 and 49. Born to a musical family, he fell in love with music as a small child, initially playing drums and then bass. At a young age, he got his first guitar and quickly soaked up music from Robert Johnson to Lightnin’ Hopkins, from B.B. King to Muddy Waters, from Jimi Hendrix to Prince, but all the while developing his own sound and style.

Since the release of Kingfish, his Grammy-nominated 2019 Alligator Records debut, guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Christone “Kingfish” Ingram has quickly become the defining blues voice of his generation.

662 is the next chapter in the still-unfolding story of Christone “Kingfish” Ingram. He describes 662 as his own personal journey, a story that sits upon the legacy of his influential blues elders. The songs—reflecting his life in and away from his home in the Delta—speak to universal truths, as well as to similar experiences shared by his large and growing multi-generational, multi-cultural fan base. From the blistering, hometown title track, 662, to the irresistible She Calls Me Kingfish to the slow, soulful and poignant Another Life Goes By to the funky truth-telling Too Young To Remember662 overflows with hard-hitting songs, jaw-dropping guitar work and deep, soul-possessed vocals. NPR Music says Ingram’s playing is “astounding…it’s almost like he’s singing through the guitar.”

Christone "Kingfish" Ingram ....ROCKED the HOUSE !!!

by Rocket on 8/17/21Berks Jazz Fest - Reading

Never had listened to Christone "Kingfish" Ingram, but on the Instagram recommendation of SLASH: bought tickets to attend the Berks Jazzfest. Little did I realize that I would be listening to a "future legend" with the 22 year old prodigy playing sweet rhythms of Jimi Hendrix, Chuck Berry, AND Jimi Hendrix!! Chris even took time to play the guitar with his TEETH at one moment of the show!! After the EPIC SHOW was over, Chris signed autographs and spoke with all the fans who took time to stop by and share their wonderful feelings with this "Bright New Star" on his way to stardom!! When I spoke to Chris I mentioned that I purchased a guitar one month ago & would use his play as inspiration to learn! Chris replied, "When YOU get famous, maybe we can jam together" !! Humble young man !!

    Kingfish amazes Ludlow Garage

by Mojo on 8/14/21Ludlow Garage Cincinnati - Cincinnati

Not one person in the near sellout, mixed race crowd was disappointed. Kingfish played songs from his new CD 662 and some others from previous discs. His guitar tones ranged thru the spectrum of traditional blues, jazz, soul, and blues rock. His guitar talent has never been questioned but I was most impressed by his smooth and powerful vocals. The capper was his command of the stage and how he led his band through the evenings repertoire

    As Advertised

by Andrew J on 8/13/21Ludlow Garage Cincinnati - Cincinnati

I first heard of Kingfish a couple years ago. He was scheduled to play a small club in town but COVID derailed the show. When I saw he was coming to Ludlow Garage I jumped on it. He was an amazing guitarist; full of passion and energy. For such a young man he played with the flair and confidence of a veteran blues guitarist. His band mates were exceptional in their own right. A very enjoyable show. I left totally mesmerized and satisfied.

Christone Kingfish Ingram at Brighton music hall

by Keith on 3/9/20Brighton Music Hall presented by Citizens Bank - Boston

The staff at the venue were very good. Checking everyone entering efficiently and without attitude. Actually welcoming people. As to Kingfish, he was fantastic. He just played! And is a great player keeping the blues alive. Nothing over the top. He doesn’t need to He did a walk thru the crowd, ala Buddy Guy, and just kept playing. His backing band are very tight My overall experience is very positive. A good small venue to see a show And I was fortunate to see Kingfish play!
