I can’t believe that there is actually real talent still left in the music scene. These people are phenomenal performers that have so much energy that it is hard to believe. They sounded absolutely amazing and their talent and stage presence are forces to be reckoned with. I hope they come back to Los Angeles soon as I will be the first in line to hear them and see them.
Garcias is a great venue . Great sound and sight lines and everyone gets a table . Their food was outstanding too with great service.
Southern Avenue is a high energy band with great vocals and great musicians! I waited 3 years to see them. I guarantee that it will not be that long again.
So impressed with the talent of this group, and they clearly have a strong following as the audience was generally very enthusiastic throughout. This was our first concert seeing Southern Avenue. The energy level of the band members, along with their exceptional talent was tremendous. For the first 2-3 numbers, all that was fine. But, then everything after all sounded the same. We kept waiting (hoping) that there would be variety in the sound, but no. We wouldn't choose to go to another of their concerts. In the end, we just felt bored and left after during the break (which, amazingly was 90 minutes into the performance).
My husband and I went to see Southern Avenue last year at Jimmy's Jazz Club and loved the concert and setting so much that when I saw they were returning I purchased tickets to treat my sister for her birthday. She loved the concert as much as us and Jimmy's Jazz Club is such a beautiful place to see them. I will go see them again next year and bring a girlfriend if they return to keep turning people on to this talented band and amazing space. The lead singer has so much energy and my sister said she reminded her of a young Tina Turner. All the band members are so talented and just a fantastic show. Although they serve dinner at Jimmy's, we enjoyed a fantastic dinner across the street at Jumpin Jay's Fish Cafe which I also highly recommend.

Second time we have seen Southern Avenue at Jimmy’s in Portsmouth. High energy show. Loved every minute. There cover of “That’s all” puts Genesis to shame.

We fell in love with Southern Avenue when we discovered them at Firefly and have seen them when them are close to home (this trip was 3 hour drive and a hotel stay)- Loved the venue as well!
