Picture this: The year is 1962 and C.S. Lewis, the famous British author, is in the twilight years of his life. He is hosting a group of American writers at his home just outside of Oxford. They have come to hear him speak about the significant events and the people that shaped his life — this is Christmas With C.S. Lewis. This intimate portrayal allows audiences to spend an enthralling evening with the late author whose books have become a staple in millions of lives. There’s no better way to feel the holiday cheer than spending a warm evening with the author of the iconic Narnia Chronicles and other legendary written works.
To connect with Christmas With C.S. Lewis:
Enjoyed every minute! It was engaging and well done. Glad we made the effort in the middle of the holiday season!
This was a beautiful portrayal of the life of CS Lewis. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
The show was wonderful and I enjoyed it very much. Quite a bargain for an entertaining couple of hours in a beautiful historic theater.
For those who love C.S. Lewis, this is a delightful and entertaining one-man show. Through recollections and stories, you’ll get an insight into the life of Lewis. Well written and performed!
This was so well done! The performance was incredible. A wonderful way to start our Christmas.
Show started late. Sound system didn't work for the first 10 minutes. The show itself was dry, humorless and drawn out. This was the first show that we walked out on in the past 3 years of going to the Walker Theater. Several others in our section left either before us or at the intermission.
This was a good performance and an enlightening insight into the life of C.S. Lewis.
This show sheds light on not only C.S. Lewis, but faith and the history of Christmas. It's a must see for fans of this beloved author! It's also a delightfully comedic experience!!
I first have to start with the venue, The Lyric Theatre, Bham, AL, since the events I attend are only at about 5 locations. The Lyric is amazing! From the ambience of a revived grand theater to the volunteers who are always smiling and helpful to the refreshment area and finally to the comfortable seating where you can actually see over the person in front of you, (I am short), the Lyric is highly recommended. The performance of C.S. Lewis was a delight! I have read books and watched performances about this great man and I think this actor did a very good job of representing him to this audience.
I love all things C. S. Lewis, so when I saw the play was coming to town, I immediately bought tickets. I must confess I had no idea what the play would actually be about. However, my husband and I were quite surprised and very pleased. It was a history lesson and the personal life of C. S. Lewis woven into one wonderful mesmerizing story. We loved every minute of it.
