ABOUT CHRIS ROCK

Lauded by peers and critics alike, Chris Rock is one of our generation's strongest comedic voices. With a career spanning more than three decades, Rock has enjoyed ongoing success in both film and television as a comedian, actor, writer, producer and director.

Rock recently wrapped production on the upcoming Higher Ground produced biopic, "Rustin ". He can currently be seen in David O'Russell's Amsterdam and Sally Potter's short film, Look At Me. He is set to direct an Untitled Chris Rock project in 2023.

In 2021 Rock starred as Loy Cannon in season 4 of FX's Emmy-winning drama series "Fargo."  He also teamed up with Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures in the reimagining of the newest Saw franchise movie, "Spiral," in which he produced and starred in. His most recent standup special, "Total Blackout: The Tamborine Extended Cut," is currently streaming on Netflix.

In 2014 he led the ensemble cast of "Top Five," a critically acclaimed comedy feature that he also wrote and directed. In 2009 Rock ventured into the documentary world as a writer and producer of "Good Hair," and in 2014 he executive produced "Eat Drink Laugh: The Story of the Comic Strip," a documentary recounting the history of one of New York's most famous comedy venues.  His feature acting credits include The Week Of, the Grown Ups and Madagascar franchises, 2 Days in New York, Death at a Funeral, Nurse Betty, Dogma, the hip-hop comedy CB4, and New Jack City.

His television work includes serving as a cast member on "Saturday Night Live" from 1989 - 1993 and as executive producer, writer and narrator for the series "Everybody Hates Chris." The series ran from 2005 - 2009 and is still one of the highest rated syndicated shows in the world.

In 2011, Rock made his Broadway debut starring in Stephen Adly Guirgis's The Motherf**ker With The Hat.

Rock has won four Emmy Awards, three Grammy Awards, and is a New York Times Best-Selling Author. Bust a gut

by Mac on 1/30/23North Charleston Coliseum - North Charleston

My sides still hurt from laughing! I laughed so hard I cried tears through the entire show, even the opening acts were funny as heck. Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle Comedy experience totally hit the mark! Both comedians were on point, on time and so very funny. The 'no-phones' experience was awesome, perhaps this trend will catch on at other performances. Personally, I had the best time watching people learn how to communicate face to face again, and enjoy a show without looking through their camera phones. I truly appreciate both Chris and Dave coming to the Carolinas to show some love and laughs. Bless their Hearts.

    The Whole Experience

by Jc on 1/30/23North Charleston Coliseum - North Charleston

The only reason I gave it 3 stars was because Dave n Chris were amazing. Beyond that the traffic to get there sucked. Getting into the arena was terrible. Getting food and beverages was terrible and leaving out the parking deck was terrible. This venue along wit the staff was not prepared for this event and the chaos proved that. Get more staff get more people to direct traffic if you want to have two of the biggest comedians possibly ever come to your city!!!! Poor execution all around. Great show when we FINALLY got to our seat.

    INCREDIBLE

by J. R. on 1/30/23North Charleston Coliseum - North Charleston

We loved every single moment! Chris Rock KILLED IT! Dave Chappelle had us dying and kept it 100000% real!! The entire event was done well; very grown and sexy. Even the no cell phone policy didn't bother us too much! Only suggestion is to have more than one place where we can get wine because that line was CRAZY!

    WORTH THE MONEY!!!

by Coach E on 1/30/23North Charleston Coliseum - North Charleston

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!! I have been a huge fan of Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle for pretty much all my life. I have grown up on their comedy since I was a young kid and it was a dream come true to see that they were coming to Charleston. I jumped on the opportunity to buy tickets, did not care about the price, and it was well worth it. I was satisfied.

    Funny AH!

Great show! Both Rock and Chappelle killed. We didn’t get to see the acts before them due to a seating issue unfortunately.

    Great Show, Terrible concession lines

by Bartenderboi on 1/30/23North Charleston Coliseum - North Charleston

Great show, easy entry and exit even with cell phone bags, but terrible wait for concessions. 30+ minute wait for beverages is unacceptable.

    Great Show

by Anomalies on 1/30/23North Charleston Coliseum - North Charleston

Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock was a whole experience. An opportunity to see 2 comedy greats in one show. The venue was in a great location for us to drive. The ticket price was reasonable and the view from our seats was worth it. The open acts and headliners did not disappoint. The comedy was funny and thought provoking which was expected from these comedians.

    Let down in Birmingham

by KB on 1/30/23Legacy Arena at The BJCC - Birmingham

I've dreamed of seeing Chris Rock live for over 20 years. He was the one person I would pay $300 to see. Every special he's ever done, every album, I've loved and laughed until I was in tears. Therefore I say with great sadness - he's not funny anymore. The only thing "fresh" was the Will Smith stuff. Everything else was dated and boring. As I realized I wasn't laughing I began to feel depressed. He had jokes about OJ Simpson, the Kardashians, and how all people care about is getting "likes." What decade is this? Now I fully understand the expression, "be careful what you wish for..." Dave Chappelle was the closer and thank god. He was amazing and ended the evening on a good note. Everything he said was new material and it was all hilarious.

Just OK .. could have been funnier

by Couple's Night out on 1/30/23North Charleston Coliseum - North Charleston

There were four comics including Rock and Chappelle. There were enjoyable and entertaining spots for each comic. I actually thought the first comic, Rick Ingraham was pretty good. Donnell Rawlings was just ok. Rock and Dave were interesting and a little funny with some okay wittiness. They lacked the gut-wrenching, belly laughing material and delivery I expected. As comparison I enjoyed Chappelle's last few Netflix specials more than rocks last Netflix special. I thought Rock's Netflix special was just okay. I enjoyed Rock's standup show as much as I enjoyed Rock's last Netflix special. I enjoyed Chappelle standup show less than Chappelle's previous Netflix specials. Overall I was disappointed since Dave what's the main draw for us. Comparing the show to others we seen recently... We saw two other comedy shows within the last 5 months from less well known artists who had my wife and I laughing way more. We also saw a big named late night show comic come through Charleston a few years ago who did really who had us rolling. It was still a good night out and we enjoyed some stadium food and some light entertainment. Glad that we went ,but we'll pass on seeing either of these artists the next time they come through.

    Dave Chappell & Chris Rock

by 843Kingz on 1/30/23North Charleston Coliseum - North Charleston

Everything was awesome really great show. The only recommendation is to maybe incorporate a shuttle from Tanger to the coliseum.
