CHRIS BOTTI IN CONCERT:

Trumpet virtuoso Chris Botti has made a lasting impression on his audiences ever since his first touring gig with Frank Sinatra in the '80s. The trumpeter's style and grace can't be matched as he fills the room with the sounds of his 1939 Handcraft brass trumpet, spellbinding audiences with the instrument's rich tones. The Grammy Award winner has played with a number of legendary artists including Sting and Andrea Bocelli, captivating audiences with signature hits like "Regroovable" alongside classics like "Ave Maria." Chris Botti never fails to disappoint, and he's sure to take fans on a musical journey they won't soon forget with his string of 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Influenced by his mother's musical background, Chris Botti began playing the trumpet at age nine, but it wasn't until he heard the classic Miles Davis track "My Funny Valentine" several years later that he decided to pursue a career in music. During his senior year at Indiana University, Botti toured with Frank Sinatra, which led to a number of gigs with famous artists like Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin and Natalie Cole. Since then, he's released ten studio albums — seven have reached Top 10 spots on the Billboard Jazz chart — and sold three million records. He's also been the host of the radio show Chill With Chris Botti and performed with the Boston Pops Orchestra alongside John Mayer, Josh Groban, and Yo-Yo Ma. Back on the road in 2014, the trumpet virtuoso is set to captivate fans on his highly anticipated world tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Chris Botti and his group are the best of the best in the arena of ultra-talented musicians. Of course the handsome man with the horn never lets his audience down. Even though he performs 300 days a year, he gives the audience his all as though it's one show just for them."

"Not only does Chris Botti shine with his talents, he has top notch musicians and a singer to make it an overall outstanding, entertaining evening. ...will definitely try to see the next show!"

"Chris Botti was charming in relating to the audience, and put on a spectacular display of musicianship. He's one of, if not the best, at his craft."

  • Great show

by Jk on 12/5/23The Wilbur - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

The show was amazing. Chris Botti is an excellent entertainer and always brings out great musicians to perform. My only complaint is that the show was shorter than I expected.

  • Great performance! Not the best seating.

by Michellino on 12/5/23The Wilbur - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Just saw Chris Boti at The Wilber Theater on Tremont Street in Boston. Chris never disappoints, and this was no exception! Fantastic performance with great special guests! Only complaint was that the seating at The Wilbur was very tight and cramped, making it difficult and uncomfortable. Floor seats were just wooden back chairs and were so close together against each other against the bar rail the far right wall that we had to hop over them from behind just to be able to get into them!! Great concert, but I would think twice about booking the Wilbur again.

  • Something was different???

by Tamster on 12/5/23The Wilbur - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Concert was stellar but only 1.5 hours and one encore and no curtain calls for violinist or vocalist. I have seen his show many times, something was different/cut short? Of what was seen, perfection as always.

  • Beyond words

by Jules on 12/5/23The Wilbur - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

From the first opening note to the singing to the drum solo (always a hit)..... as my 15th time seeing Chris this was beyond words. I can't wait until the next show!

  • great performance, lousy venue

by Miles on 12/4/23The Wilbur - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

The performance by Chris Botti, his crew and his guests were great, wish it's a bit longer and a couple more sets by Chris himself. However, I'm not sure if Wilbur theater should be allowed to host any more concerts/shows before they get newer and better seats. Everyone has to contort themselves to fit into the seats. I have to roll up my jacket to cushion my lower back for support.

  • Always amazing!

by JES on 12/4/23The Wilbur - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

When Chris Botti plays my heart soars! He is so incredibly talented, yet humble! Always gives room to all the other imusicians and singers he has on stage with him! Such an amazing evening!

  • Nice music, but the sound...

by Ms. Beagle on 10/23/23Atlanta Symphony Hall - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5

I've never been to an ASO concert that had such horrible sound, until this concert. Usually there's not a bad seat in the house because the acoustics are so good at ASO, but the mix was soooo bad. The singers were drowned out, Chris was barely heard, the piano was nonexistent at times and the orchestra was completely drowned out by the guitars. There was mic feedback through the whole show, also Chris's mic had a bad connection either at the clip or where the wire was connected at the belt unit, so every time he moved it crackled like a record player. I could not believe they didn't switch Chris's mic out. The volume was cranked so loud in the second half of the show that I had to cover my ears to try and hear the music. It's jazz. It's not supposed to be a garbled mess of loud noise all in competition for the loudest part. Completely unnecessary at a venue like ASO where there are controlled acoustics. I've been to stadium concerts that were mixed better than this. It was a nightmare of an evening, it was embarrassing because we brought friends, and it was a huge disappointment after we looked forward to it all year and bought these tickets as a big anniversary gift. We have serious doubts of ever returning to see a show at ASO again.

  • Just AWESOME

by LTCwright on 10/17/23Baton Rouge River Center Theater - Baton RougeRating: 5 out of 5

The venue was super, up close and personal, great seating. Chis and his guest were fantastic. They walked thru the aisles, playing super music. The array of hits and selects were beyond belief. If Chris is within driving distance.....you definitely must see his show, you will not be disappointed. I'm already planning to see him again this year!!

  • Botti never disappoints

by Sugar on 10/15/23Baton Rouge River Center Theater - Baton RougeRating: 5 out of 5

His talent and those he surrounds himself with on stage always puts me in ‘awe’!!! It saddens me that the theatre was not packed for them

  • Outstanding!

by Mimi on 10/15/23Baton Rouge River Center Theater - Baton RougeRating: 5 out of 5

Chris Botti is an exceptional performer! Nothing disappointing except that the crowd was small. Wish more people had heard his fabulous music. Excellent evening!

  • Best concert

  • Great Show, Small Audience

by JimtheElder on 10/15/23Baton Rouge River Center Theater - Baton RougeRating: 5 out of 5

As always, Mr. Botti and crew put on a fantastic show, playing both old standards and new songs that are likely to become standards. His band members are consummate professionals as well, and they form a tightknit group, the kind that is formed by hours and hours of practice and dedication. The only complaint about this show was the abject lack of advertising and promotion, which resulted in an embarrassingly small audience. In previous visits to Baton Rouge Mr. Botti had sold out this venue and I had expected this concert to be no exception, but unfortunately only 300 people or so were in attendance. But, what we lacked in numbers we hopefully made up for in enthusiasm. Looking forward to seeing Mr. Botti again.

  • Fantastic

by Lynn on 10/15/23Baton Rouge River Center Theater - Baton RougeRating: 5 out of 5

Chris Botti was great as usual, but had such a great group of talent with him. The drummer, the bass and pianist was exceptional. Then he brought in the violinist and saxophone player, which was spectacular and of course, the singer was amazing. Enjoyed the show very much.

  • Worth every penny

by MichaelP on 10/15/23Baton Rouge River Center Theater - Baton RougeRating: 5 out of 5

The caliber of talent, the interaction with the audience, the general good time ambience. The opportunity to experience talented artists who were unfamiliar to me and become a new fan. I’d love to see Chris Botti again and again

  • awesome!!!

by Mark/Barbara on 10/7/23Sandler Center For The Performing Arts - VIRGINIA BEACHRating: 5 out of 5

This had to be the best concert we have attended. Chris was awesome! He shared the stage and spotlighted some awesome new talent. His musicians were super! We loved when he came down into the audience and played right next to us!!

  • Phenomenal!

by Jazzman on 9/30/23Atlanta Symphony Hall - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The show was outstanding. Chris Botti and each and every member of his band performed with such a high level of skill and musicianship. The concert was arguably one of the best I’ve attended, and seamlessly blended together many different musical genres. Chris Botti is not only a talented and accomplished musician, but also a fantastic entertainer and band leader. And the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra provided the perfect foundation and accompaniment to Chris and his band. I’ve been to many performances at ATL Symphony Hall and it is a wonderful venue. Highly recommended, and looking forward to seeing Chris Botti perform again.

  • Moderately Disappointed

by CB on 9/29/23Atlanta Symphony Hall - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

The event should been titled “Chris Botti promotes friends.” While they ALL were very talented, they were not who I purchased tickets to hear/see for a majority of the show. Great music/vocals just very little of the headliner.
