CHRIS BOTTI IN CONCERT:

Trumpet virtuoso Chris Botti has made a lasting impression on his audiences ever since his first touring gig with Frank Sinatra in the '80s. The trumpeter's style and grace can't be matched as he fills the room with the sounds of his 1939 Handcraft brass trumpet, spellbinding audiences with the instrument's rich tones. The Grammy Award winner has played with a number of legendary artists including Sting and Andrea Bocelli, captivating audiences with signature hits like "Regroovable" alongside classics like "Ave Maria." Chris Botti never fails to disappoint, and he's sure to take fans on a musical journey they won't soon forget with his string of 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Influenced by his mother's musical background, Chris Botti began playing the trumpet at age nine, but it wasn't until he heard the classic Miles Davis track "My Funny Valentine" several years later that he decided to pursue a career in music. During his senior year at Indiana University, Botti toured with Frank Sinatra, which led to a number of gigs with famous artists like Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin and Natalie Cole. Since then, he's released ten studio albums — seven have reached Top 10 spots on the Billboard Jazz chart — and sold three million records. He's also been the host of the radio show Chill With Chris Botti and performed with the Boston Pops Orchestra alongside John Mayer, Josh Groban, and Yo-Yo Ma. Back on the road in 2014, the trumpet virtuoso is set to captivate fans on his highly anticipated world tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Chris Botti and his group are the best of the best in the arena of ultra-talented musicians. Of course the handsome man with the horn never lets his audience down. Even though he performs 300 days a year, he gives the audience his all as though it's one show just for them."

"Not only does Chris Botti shine with his talents, he has top notch musicians and a singer to make it an overall outstanding, entertaining evening. ...will definitely try to see the next show!"

"Chris Botti was charming in relating to the audience, and put on a spectacular display of musicianship. He's one of, if not the best, at his craft."

Chris Botti all time great Trumpet player . His band members on piano, drums, guitars and bass are all fabulous in their own right. Such entertainment and pure joy !

  • Fabulous night!

by Maryk on 6/5/24The Paramount - HuntingtonRating: 5 out of 5

This was one of Chris Botti‘s best shows ever! Every musician who joined him was at top of their game! The violinist, the base player (with the band for only 48 hours! What an addition!), The drummer/percussionist was both enjoyable to watch and one of the best drummers around! Thoroughly enjoyed the guest appearance by Sy Smith! Saw her before with Chris Botti at the blue note… She never disappoints! What are unique talent she brought such levity, enthusiasm and musical excellence to the show! And of course Chris Botti was a delight as usual

by Vincent on 6/5/24The Paramount - HuntingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Everything was EXCELLENT. The venue was comfortable, clean and well suited to the event. The staff was courteous and professional. Chris Botti and his musicians brought an energy that was only out done by his great music. My wife and I cannot wait to see him again at this venue.

  • Forever Amazing!

by Linberg on 6/5/24The Paramount - HuntingtonRating: 5 out of 5

My husband & I have been Chris Botto fans for ages! One of our absolute favorite holiday things to do was go into NYC to sit among the crowded tables of the Blue Note & listen to that beautiful trumpet. Amazing. Only Mr. Botti can play like that. The sound is unmistakable. And the performance at the Paramount on 6/2/2024 was phenomenal. It was the Blue Note experience without the crowded tables & we hope to be able to attend again next year. Grazie!

by Jam on 1/14/24Rating: 5 out of 5

Not only is Botti amazing as an artist but he teaches us to observe what is like to give the light to so many great artists on his show. Wonderfully uplifting and a show I could see over and over and love every minute of it. Thank you for such a great experience

  • Great musicians, Not the best choice of songs

by WH on 12/13/23Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 4 out of 5

Chris brought very talented musicians with him to the Birchmere. I understand the desire to bring in new music to keep it fresh and interesting, but we really wanted to hear some of his old classics. We didn’t recognize any tunes and left disappointed -even though all songs were played very well with solid music craftsmanship. We are not fond of wailing saxophones and that’s what we got from one guest musician. And the choice of tunes for the female vocalist was not too good.

  • Don't Miss Botti - He's Got Your Joy

by Jackye on 12/12/23Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Chris Botti led a marvelous gig with 6 extraordinary musicians each of whom he gave the stage to at The Birchmere as soloists to fully display their musical, Improvisational and collaborative talents. The audience was thrilled by this quality and the 7 musicians' joy performing together. Don't miss this rare gift of jazz.

Outstanding performance by the entire group. Good ok but came for the entertainment and it did not disappoint.

  • Great show.... Too short

by Brian on 12/11/23Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 4 out of 5

Not having seen Chris before, I was not sure what to expect. All I knew was, He is a trumpet player. Could have just stood on stage playing a bunch of trumpet favorites for all I knew... But the show was incredible... the talent on stage were all first chair musicians. Chris would often casually observe and with a wave of his hand jump right in. The solos were tasteful and kept to a minimum. Chris introduced Sy Smith, (a DC Native) a true entertainer. Her vocals were only eclipsed by her showmanship! She had the crowd moving with her DJ beatbox rendition of an old classic. Chris also brought out an incredibly talented male vocalist guitar virtuoso named John Splithoff. His Michael Franks-like buttery tone caught everyone's attention when he sang his new song Raye that he had recently recorded with Chris Botti on Volume 1. I am sure that His name gets Googled extensively after each show... he is that good. Chris did an incredible job leading his band and his playing was other worldly. The show would have been a 5 out of 5 had he played just a little longer. The wait staff seemed surprised as well as they hustled to collect all the checks during the last song. Would pay to see him again.

  • FABULOUS!

by Nelly on 12/11/23Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

World class performance and performers. Could not believe the caliber of entertainment in such a comfortable smaller venue. Chris Botti and his co performers are amazing. We had the best time ever!

  • Botti and Guests are Exceptional

Chris Botti delivered a truly exceptional performance, captivating the audience with his unique tone and expressive technique. From the opening notes of "Danny Boy"to the grand finale on "Are You Lonesome Tonight,"Botti and his talented special guests, including the standout saxophonist Andy Snitzer, showcased their musical brilliance. The entire performance was an absolutely stellar and unforgettable musical experience that left the audience in awe.

  • Amazing

  • A good performance but not his/their best

by tc on 12/6/23The Wilbur - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

We have seen Chris over 20 times - this is the first time we were a bit let down. He seemed tired ; not his usual chatting or boyancy. His energy seems to inspire other members,

  • Incredible
