About

CHRIS BOTTI IN CONCERT:

Trumpet virtuoso Chris Botti has made a lasting impression on his audiences ever since his first touring gig with Frank Sinatra in the '80s. The trumpeter's style and grace can't be matched as he fills the room with the sounds of his 1939 Handcraft brass trumpet, spellbinding audiences with the instrument's rich tones. The Grammy Award winner has played with a number of legendary artists including Sting and Andrea Bocelli, captivating audiences with signature hits like "Regroovable" alongside classics like "Ave Maria." Chris Botti never fails to disappoint, and he's sure to take fans on a musical journey they won't soon forget with his string of 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Influenced by his mother's musical background, Chris Botti began playing the trumpet at age nine, but it wasn't until he heard the classic Miles Davis track "My Funny Valentine" several years later that he decided to pursue a career in music. During his senior year at Indiana University, Botti toured with Frank Sinatra, which led to a number of gigs with famous artists like Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin and Natalie Cole. Since then, he's released ten studio albums — seven have reached Top 10 spots on the Billboard Jazz chart — and sold three million records. He's also been the host of the radio show Chill With Chris Botti and performed with the Boston Pops Orchestra alongside John Mayer, Josh Groban, and Yo-Yo Ma. Back on the road in 2014, the trumpet virtuoso is set to captivate fans on his highly anticipated world tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Chris Botti and his group are the best of the best in the arena of ultra-talented musicians. Of course the handsome man with the horn never lets his audience down. Even though he performs 300 days a year, he gives the audience his all as though it's one show just for them."

"Not only does Chris Botti shine with his talents, he has top notch musicians and a singer to make it an overall outstanding, entertaining evening. ...will definitely try to see the next show!"

"Chris Botti was charming in relating to the audience, and put on a spectacular display of musicianship. He's one of, if not the best, at his craft."

Chris Botti is exceptional on his own but he brings an amazing talent with him . I have seen him twice within two years and got a different performance on both I could not be happier . The banter between them was humorous and shows how well the gel together . I will see him again and again . Thanks for a amazing time

Chris Botti never disappoints. He is an amazing musician who is personable and extremely talented. He surrounds himself with equally talented musicians and his shows are alway entertaining.

  • Better than Advertised!

by Jeff A on 9/28/23The Charleston Music Hall - CharlestonRating: 5 out of 5

It was our first time to see Chris Botti! The music and his show are absolutely fabulous! His love and passion for jazz was on display for everyone to see. I think he was as excited for the other musicians who joined him as the audience was. We can't wait for the next time he's in town to see him again!

Great venue! Chris was fabulous and his new guitar/composer was great. Female vocalist wild!!!!

  • Great Performers. Technical Issues

    by Music08 on 9/26/23Atlanta Symphony Hall - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

We were excited to see the performance at the ASO. Throughout the entire show there was distinct feedback (like a microphone or cord wasn’t properly or fully connected) from stage. It impacted the listening experience. We thought at intermission they’d fix it but it still persisted. With a venue as esteemed as the ASO, I was shocked to see their lack of attentiveness to such a glaring issue.

  • Lots of jazz

by BillnGA on 9/26/23Atlanta Symphony Hall - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Botti and his entourage delivered a magnificent performance. We loved the jazz as well as his exceptional guests. We missed his older trumpet only solos which were quite few that night.

  • Best night ever! This should have been recorded.

by ChelleJT on 9/26/23Atlanta Symphony Hall - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

This night I play over and over again. Chris Botti changed things around and he was just wonderful! I liked getting to hear some of his history with music. The music was PHENOMENAL!!! 20*****stars from us!! The guests were beyond exhilarating and heart stroking. A great evening for the soul.

  • Great show!

Chris was a true entertainer. The ASO was fantastic and the musicians who partnered with Chris were all too notch. We had a great time.

  • Talent beyond measure

by Drogers on 9/26/23Atlanta Symphony Hall - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Chris Botti never disappoints. His show with the ASO was outstanding. This is the second time I’ve seen him and I’m really touched by the way he finds hidden talent and gives them a place on the stage with him or on an album. He gives up and comings the opportunity of a lifetime. His talent and that of his band and guests is amazing. Can’t wait until next time.

  • FABULOUS AS ALWAYS!!!

by JJ on 9/26/23Atlanta Symphony Hall - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The arrival process for the Woodruff Arts Center Premium Parking and Staffing and Symphony Hall was excellent. Friendly and competent staff. This was my 5th or 6th time (losing count) at a Chris Botti concert. As always, Chris Botti, his band, and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra were FABULOUS!!! The program and sequence of songs had a wonderful flow. The affect when he and other musicians come down and play while in the audience is a special humanistic touch. It is truly amazing how Chris Botti attracts incredible musicians and vocalists to tour year after year. That speaks volumes for the person and professional he is. He is so professional and his talent is consistently above all others. I hosted 3 friends who had never heard of Chris Botti, and they were blown away. They are now fans and followers. The only negative in the entire evening was a crackling noise in the sound system. It was subtle, but clearly there. At one point Chris Botti went over to the grand piano and removed a microphone, so apparently he was aware of it. It wasn't consistent, but enough to be somewhat distracting. Chris Botti always delivers a FABULOUS experience!!! Looking forward to his return to ATL Symphony Hall!!!

  • Great Performance; Annoying Audience members

by MFM on 9/26/23Atlanta Symphony Hall - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Chris Botti and his assembled musicians were great, along with the ASO of course. I hope they will return year after year. Marvelous musicians. A privilege to hear them perform. The downside was the narcissistic behavior of several persons seated near us. For example, a woman seated three seats down gave the appearance of being intoxicated, manic, or both. She was loud and gesturing throughout the performance. Another woman, while seemingly in her right mind, was constantly talking to the performers and gesturing. I have observed a consistent decline in decorum at public events over the years. I admit I am older. Perhaps the days of proper behavior and consideration for others have passed. If so, I mourn its passing for my grandchildren who may never know the difference and assume it is normal to act (and in many cases dress) like one is at a hillbilly goat roping (and the star goat roper) while attending a symphony, a graduation, a wedding, or indeed a funeral.

  • Amazing! Loved every minute!

    by Pockets316 on 9/26/23Atlanta Symphony Hall - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Chris Botti and the ASO was a night full of beautiful music and entertainment. Every musician that took the stage was as good, if not better, than the previous one. I hope he comes back soon. My son and I would love to see him again!!!

  • Not happy with Chris

by Happy on 9/26/23Atlanta Symphony Hall - AtlantaRating: 1 out of 5

We thought he would be just playing with the ASO - not the loud jazz group that appeared to be improvising on stage - trying to be Miles Davis. Did not work. We left at intermission - way too loud - Chris did not play well and the singer was not very good. This was a complete disappointment .

  • Spectacular Performances

by Wendy on 9/26/23Atlanta Symphony Hall - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The entire experience was amazing! From the valet, drink/snack services, all the way to the performers, this event was a mega success! The entire show was spectacular! Chris Botti, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and all guest performers (including the audience) put on an amazing show! It is a must see!

  • Botti awesome venue not so

by Uffbear on 9/26/23Atlanta Symphony Hall - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

Saw Chris Botti Saturday night at the Atlanta Symphony Hall. I had seen Chris years ago with the Alabama symphony in B'ham at the BJCC concert hall. Botti, band, guest musicians, and the symphony were great, but this venue is not. The seating for this hall is about 40 seats across each row with no break. Poor design to me. I had read a review that it had acoustic problems. There was a cracking speaker stage right that seemed to be a part of the sound system not Botti's! Wish he had been at one of the other great venues in Atlanta I will not return to this hall again!

  • Not the best.

by BottiFan on 9/26/23Atlanta Symphony Hall - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

This is our third time seeing Chris Botti, and the second time in this venue. Overall we enjoyed the concert but there were three things we noticed: one was he seemed a bit off this night. His clarity was off and it sounded like he missed more notes that he usually does. Second was the sound system had issues. Crackling during several portions. Perhaps this influenced the first comment? Third, and call me old-fashioned, but a t-shirt for this genre of music seems a bit Fetterman-ish. Will this stop us from seeing him again? Not at all.

  • A night to remember

by Patti on 9/26/23Atlanta Symphony Hall - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I took my sister to the concert for her birthday. Chris put on an amazing show and the special guests that performed were a special treat.
