CHRIS BOTTI IN CONCERT:

Trumpet virtuoso Chris Botti has made a lasting impression on his audiences ever since his first touring gig with Frank Sinatra in the '80s. The trumpeter's style and grace can't be matched as he fills the room with the sounds of his 1939 Handcraft brass trumpet, spellbinding audiences with the instrument's rich tones. The Grammy Award winner has played with a number of legendary artists including Sting and Andrea Bocelli, captivating audiences with signature hits like "Regroovable" alongside classics like "Ave Maria." Chris Botti never fails to disappoint, and he's sure to take fans on a musical journey they won't soon forget with his string of 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Influenced by his mother's musical background, Chris Botti began playing the trumpet at age nine, but it wasn't until he heard the classic Miles Davis track "My Funny Valentine" several years later that he decided to pursue a career in music. During his senior year at Indiana University, Botti toured with Frank Sinatra, which led to a number of gigs with famous artists like Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin and Natalie Cole. Since then, he's released ten studio albums — seven have reached Top 10 spots on the Billboard Jazz chart — and sold three million records. He's also been the host of the radio show Chill With Chris Botti and performed with the Boston Pops Orchestra alongside John Mayer, Josh Groban, and Yo-Yo Ma. Back on the road in 2014, the trumpet virtuoso is set to captivate fans on his highly anticipated world tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Chris Botti and his group are the best of the best in the arena of ultra-talented musicians. Of course the handsome man with the horn never lets his audience down. Even though he performs 300 days a year, he gives the audience his all as though it's one show just for them."

"Not only does Chris Botti shine with his talents, he has top notch musicians and a singer to make it an overall outstanding, entertaining evening. ...will definitely try to see the next show!"

"Chris Botti was charming in relating to the audience, and put on a spectacular display of musicianship. He's one of, if not the best, at his craft."

  • GREAT from Start to Finish

by Freddie on 7/21/24Orpheum Theater - MadisonRating: 5 out of 5

It was our first time seeing Chris Botti and it was fantastic! The concert was not held in a huge spot but rather a renovated theater with GREAT acoustic. Our seats were about 8 rows back and in the center so our view was phenomenal. Worth every penny! Chris and his guests played for a full 2 hours. It was variety that couldn't be matched. The only thing missing was more vocals. Thanks for putting on such a wonderful show - lacking nothing. I'd totally recommend his shows.

  • Great show and guests!

Chris Botti assembled a fine array of musicians and guest artists. His style of play and the way that he interacts with the crowd is very appealing and low key.

  • Perfect Night

by SpeedyDeeDee on 7/21/24Orpheum Theater - MadisonRating: 5 out of 5

What an amazing concert! I took my 44 year old daughter and she said it was the best concert she ever saw. I was moved to tears with the violinist and Chris playing together. I would go again and again!! Personality and humor sprinkled throughout the evening with first class musicians. Couldn’t have been better!

  • Love his concerts !

    by D & R Navarro on 7/20/24Blue Note Summer Sessions - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

This is the second time we’ve seen Chris Botti and he never disappoints! He’s such a fantastic artist. Always, always sounds great! He seems very down to earth and it’s obvious he really cares about the sound system and pleasing his fans. We also appreciate the amazing artists that he includes in his concerts. A talented violinist, a singer/entertainer, and a saxophonist. All performers are amazingly talented!

  • Fabulous surroundings and even better entertainment!

Chris Botti and his guest artists were amazing. Outdoors at the Meritage was the perfect setting for a truly wonderful evening.

  • Very Enjoyable show

by JDavis on 7/10/24Blue Note Summer Sessions - NapaRating: 4 out of 5

Love Chris Botti. He is an amazing performer and he always surrounds himself with other wonderful performers. As always his show was enjoyable from start to finish. The venue left a bit to be desired however. The staff at the venue was great but the seating was less than adequate. The seats were too small and too close together. Very poorly done.

  • It was an igniting concert.

by Dragon lady on 7/10/24Blue Note Summer Sessions - NapaRating: 4 out of 5

The venue was exquisite for an open air concert. Chris Botti was amazingly igniting together with his jazz ensemble. My only suggestion was that there should be assigned seats rather than open seating under the so called reserved seating.

  • Fantastic

The night was perfect! He was superb and all the musicians he had with him were AMAZING! The venue was easy to access and it was easy to see the performers. It couldn’t have been better!.

  • Awesome!

I love Chris Botti and the wonderful musicians he brings with him. I’ve seen him about 7 times and am never disappointed. His trumpet playing touches my heart.

  • Jazz in Napa Valley

by Catalina guy on 7/10/24Blue Note Summer Sessions - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

I didn’t know what to expect from Chris Botti as it has been a few years since I had seen him perform. He started out with some classic jazz and progressed into more freeform jazz then unexpectedly brought out an amazing violinist and later two excellent vocalists. Altogether a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

  • Harrahs Cherokee

by Tori on 6/11/24Harrah's Cherokee Resort Event Center - CherokeeRating: 4 out of 5

Christ Botti is my favorite and i was very pleased to see him playing so close to where i live - the way the musicians played off of each other and the jam session like concert was truly amazing. He stood within 6' of me when he walked off the stage. he is an amazing performer and trumpeter!! thank you for bringing him to Cherokee NC I was very pleased with my seats @ Harrah's, section 103 row I seats 17/18 we had a wonderful time!! the floor of the stage is eye level with the piercing lights on the back wall and several times it felt like the lights would not stop blaring into my eyes, so absolutely absurd!! I get there is a light show and it was somewhat wonderful but not the serious halogen spot lights right in the faces of everyone in section 103!! Who wants to attend a concert where they need to hold their hands in front of their eyes? Not me!! thank you, Tori

  • Real Musicianship

by pompanojoe on 6/11/24Harrah's Cherokee Resort Event Center - CherokeeRating: 5 out of 5

We knew when we relocated to western N.C. from So. Fla. we could expect at least two things......better weather and limited cultural events. I actually waited all week for Ticketmaster to cancel the show due to poor ticket sales. Poor meaning 500 paid, maybe? And a few hundred comps according to a manager we spoke with. How embarrassing that so few people in this area choose not to see musicianship at it's finest, and that is exactly what Botti gives you. His playing was spot on, the band was stellar, and the guest musicians were tremendous. He even stepped off stage for a few minutes while the band and guest violinist did an instrumental rendition of Khasmir. We got a full 2 hours of light jazz, jazz fusion, a little rock (Khasmir), just a really nice blend of styles from a group of superbly talented musicians. We seriously thought about driving a couple of hours South the following night to see him again in Georgia. But, unlike Cherokee, the show was close to sold out with only a few single seats left. One positive for us.......we usually sit all the way up top in the last row. Cheaper seats, of course, and more importantly much less disturbance from unruly drunks. Due to the low sales the Casino decided to close the upper balcony and gave us center stage 11 rows back. Thanks Harrahs!

  • great night of jazz

by all that jazz on 6/10/24Harrah's Cherokee Resort Event Center - CherokeeRating: 5 out of 5

We've seen Chris Botti 3 times now and we have never been disappointed. The theater was great. Anywhere you would sit would be a good view. We found Harrah's to be less than user friendly. It is a large resort and casino. Having never been there we were completely lost as far as navigating the property. There were no direction signs. In my opinion they should had out maps just like theme parks do.

  • Not my cup of tea

by Buddy on 6/10/24Harrah's Cherokee Resort Event Center - CherokeeRating: 3 out of 5

I didn’t realize what jazz was really like, so we decided to go. Chris was an excellent musician; along with all the others. I thought the violinist was outstanding. I’m just not into jazz.

  • Masterful!

by JOS on 6/10/24Harrah's Cherokee Resort Event Center - CherokeeRating: 5 out of 5

This was our second Chris Botti concert we attended. He does not disappoint. His back up musicians are superb, and his selection of tunes was nicely curated. The venue was large, but still worked for his concert. The lighting could’ve been better, particularly when he walked into the audience and continued to play his music. The cost for the concert was, reasonable compared to prices in larger cities. I hope the Cherokee Casino continues to bring a mix of talent and different musical genres to their stage.

  • Not great

by Grumpy old woman on 6/10/24Harrah's Cherokee Resort Event Center - CherokeeRating: 3 out of 5

Band was dissatisfied with sound system Could not get it the way they wanted it. Seats were miserable awkward bleacher type things. Would not choose that again

  • Exciting Night

    by Harvey G on 6/7/24The Paramount - HuntingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Chris Botti both played and hosted a fantastic ensemble of highly talented musicians and singers. The music was non-stop for 2 hours and I never lost interest in the wide-ranging performances. A great night of Jazz!
