About

CHRIS BOTTI IN CONCERT:

Trumpet virtuoso Chris Botti has made a lasting impression on his audiences ever since his first touring gig with Frank Sinatra in the '80s. The trumpeter's style and grace can't be matched as he fills the room with the sounds of his 1939 Handcraft brass trumpet, spellbinding audiences with the instrument's rich tones. The Grammy Award winner has played with a number of legendary artists including Sting and Andrea Bocelli, captivating audiences with signature hits like "Regroovable" alongside classics like "Ave Maria." Chris Botti never fails to disappoint, and he's sure to take fans on a musical journey they won't soon forget with his string of 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Influenced by his mother's musical background, Chris Botti began playing the trumpet at age nine, but it wasn't until he heard the classic Miles Davis track "My Funny Valentine" several years later that he decided to pursue a career in music. During his senior year at Indiana University, Botti toured with Frank Sinatra, which led to a number of gigs with famous artists like Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin and Natalie Cole. Since then, he's released ten studio albums — seven have reached Top 10 spots on the Billboard Jazz chart — and sold three million records. He's also been the host of the radio show Chill With Chris Botti and performed with the Boston Pops Orchestra alongside John Mayer, Josh Groban, and Yo-Yo Ma. Back on the road in 2014, the trumpet virtuoso is set to captivate fans on his highly anticipated world tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Chris Botti and his group are the best of the best in the arena of ultra-talented musicians. Of course the handsome man with the horn never lets his audience down. Even though he performs 300 days a year, he gives the audience his all as though it's one show just for them."

"Not only does Chris Botti shine with his talents, he has top notch musicians and a singer to make it an overall outstanding, entertaining evening. ...will definitely try to see the next show!"

"Chris Botti was charming in relating to the audience, and put on a spectacular display of musicianship. He's one of, if not the best, at his craft."

  • An amazing evening

by Twinzdad on 9/22/24Center Theatre at North Shore Center for the Performing Arts - SkokieRating: 5 out of 5

Chris Botti is one of the best in the business and therefore garners respect from his fellow musicians as well. His entire ensemble of talented musicians made for an unforgettable evening. The pianist, the drummer, the bass as well as the extremely talented Caroline Campbell on violin were just cherries on the top of an exquisite sundae of beautiful music. Don't ever pass up the opportunity to see this gentlemen play.

  • Chis Botti - Always Exceptional

by The Best Jazz Trumpeter on the Planet on 9/22/24Center Theatre at North Shore Center for the Performing Arts - SkokieRating: 5 out of 5

This is our second concert with Chris Botti. Last time in Michigan. We have been listening to him with our family since the early 2000's. Our kids in their thirties and we have all of his albums on Spotify and he is almost a member of the family. If you can see him live, it's the best. His guest artists are always the best and his ensemble is jazz perfection.

  • Chris Botti Concert

by pcfair on 9/22/24Center Theatre at North Shore Center for the Performing Arts - SkokieRating: 5 out of 5

We arrived at the North Shore Center for Performing Arts a half-hour before showtime. So we had much leisure time to walk through the crowd in the lobby as well as the people next to us after we got into our seats. Once the show began, I got reminded how "audience-friendly"Chris Botti is (from the several Chris Botti DVDs I have). Too bad his voice was not loud enough in the first few minutes of the show. The comradery between Chris and his bandmates and musical guests was very evident. We saw a lot of Caroline Campbell and her violin. But vocalist Alicia Olatuja was only on for one number, near the end of the show. All in all, a Top Tier concert!

Wow, Botti is fantastic and his guest violinist Caroline Campbell stole the show! Loved every guest! He really knows how to pick them.

  • Scintillating and Refreshing

    by Kitty-Lou on 9/18/24Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

When you've tired of listening to the same old rehashed common rubbish, repackaged and served up as new and exciting, tune in to the extraordinary assemblage of musicians who truly understand and appreciate the roots of sophistication. Chris Botti values his associations with those who plumb the depths of musical theory and finds its most primal resonance in the performance.

  • Wonderful Experience!

by TJ on 7/25/24Music Hall Center - DetroitRating: 4 out of 5

Concert and venue both great! Guest artists were top notch as well. Only downside was parking...prepaid with ticket master but parking detail page would not load on app and was told lot was full. Had to find another lot and pay a second time for parking.

  • Incredible

by NancyG on 7/23/24Orpheum Theater - MadisonRating: 5 out of 5

Loved, loved, loved Chris Botti and the beautiful venue - The Orpheum! Chris’s performance and “friends “ was simply incredible! We loved the mix of music genre that they all performed - from smooth jazz to rockin jazz, it couldn’t have been any better! The acoustics in the Orpheum was very good, which was surprising to us because of the Theatre’s age. I would highly recommend both Chris Botti and The Orpheum!

  • An incredibly entertaining evening.

by Mazzeriatti on 7/22/24Music Hall Center - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

To start, I'd never been to the Music Hall in Detroit before. Beautiful venue to see this type of show. The sound was outstanding and not a bad seat in the house. Chris Botti was amazing. His band as well as his special guests made this a fully entertaining show. He was very humble and allowed the other musicians to shine as well. I definitely recommend seeing him on this tour.
