CHRIS BOTTI IN CONCERT:
Trumpet virtuoso Chris Botti has made a lasting impression on his audiences ever since his first touring gig with Frank Sinatra in the '80s. The trumpeter's style and grace can't be matched as he fills the room with the sounds of his 1939 Handcraft brass trumpet, spellbinding audiences with the instrument's rich tones. The Grammy Award winner has played with a number of legendary artists including Sting and Andrea Bocelli, captivating audiences with signature hits like "Regroovable" alongside classics like "Ave Maria." Chris Botti never fails to disappoint, and he's sure to take fans on a musical journey they won't soon forget with his string of 2014 tour dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Influenced by his mother's musical background, Chris Botti began playing the trumpet at age nine, but it wasn't until he heard the classic Miles Davis track "My Funny Valentine" several years later that he decided to pursue a career in music. During his senior year at Indiana University, Botti toured with Frank Sinatra, which led to a number of gigs with famous artists like Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin and Natalie Cole. Since then, he's released ten studio albums — seven have reached Top 10 spots on the Billboard Jazz chart — and sold three million records. He's also been the host of the radio show Chill With Chris Botti and performed with the Boston Pops Orchestra alongside John Mayer, Josh Groban, and Yo-Yo Ma. Back on the road in 2014, the trumpet virtuoso is set to captivate fans on his highly anticipated world tour.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"Chris Botti and his group are the best of the best in the arena of ultra-talented musicians. Of course the handsome man with the horn never lets his audience down. Even though he performs 300 days a year, he gives the audience his all as though it's one show just for them."
"Not only does Chris Botti shine with his talents, he has top notch musicians and a singer to make it an overall outstanding, entertaining evening. ...will definitely try to see the next show!"
"Chris Botti was charming in relating to the audience, and put on a spectacular display of musicianship. He's one of, if not the best, at his craft."

Fabulous concert. Special guest performances also wonderful. Chris Botti is so personable... great conversational stories.
Once again Botti took my breath away with his amazing ability to play music from a variety of genres. Although his style is eclectic, he brings you from one place to another without the slightest feeling of change. He is smooth, light, can be bold at times and is always able to connect directly with each member of his audience.
Chris was wonderful as was the entire band. There seemed to be a very long delay in getting the show started, no explanation for this. The warm up act was tedious and then a 20 minute intermission. The only dissapointment was that the regular Guitar player, Mark Whitfield was not there. The other musicians were top notch, the pianist was a total standout and actually stoled the show from Chris. I have seen Chris in another venue earlier this year and he repeated almost the whole show down to the last little story. I would like to see him perform some new material for his next tour. The vocalist was wonderful and very exciting to hear as well as the guest artist who played violin. I would recommend Chris Botti to everyone and the venue was charming.
This was our fist experience seeing Chris perform live and what an amazing group of musicians. The drummer was by far the best of best, Chris is blessed to have the talent associated with his music. Can't wait to see him again.
Amazing show with great guests: would reccomend to any one who loves really good music that just happens to be Jazz!
From the moment he stepped on stage, Chris Botti and his band mesmerized us with their outstanding talent! Special guest stars added to the fabulous music and the evening's entertainment! It is no surprise that these folks have been on a world tour for over five years! Mr. Botti's music is unique and his use of other's talents is a rare genius! Five stars is not enough for this performance!
Not one dull moment! He is a great player and story teller too! It was a great way to spend a night out with my mom!
Botti played last night with some old, and some new band members. Billy Childs and Billy Kilson were there, but no Hurst, Genus, or Whitfield. Apparently violinist Lucia Micarelli cut her left hand and is out of commission. Her replacement Caroline Campbell was very good, but copied her and Yo Yo parts of Emmanuel andCinema Paradiso verbatim. Not very creative, yet still memorable. This was my fourth Botti concert ( I was at symphony hall in Boston last Sept.) and found Chris more talkative than necessary. His stories are interesting, yet too long. We could have heard another song or two in the time his story telling took up. The replacement musicians were good. Both Billy Childs and Billy Kilson were on fire last night and kept an otherwise average performance going. Sy Smith needs to stop pretending that she is singing and hearing "The Look of Love" for the first time. She is not a great singer or dancer. Drop her and bring in guests. How about more Paula Cole?
I've seen Chris Botti on WGBH, but this was even better than I expected!
Music poured out of Chris Botti and right into our bodies and souls. He has the power to transport, no doubt, and he certainly did that for his Melody Tent listeners last night. His notes were crystal clear, his intonation purposeful and hugely varied. He was charming and personable, taking the time to talk to and thoroughly engage his audience. Music. similarly poured out of his band members, from his award winning pianist to the drummer whose entire body moves to the music, it is an experience to savor. And now that it's Sunday, I thank God for music and for such excellent musicians who can effect such osmosis for us on a beautiful Cape Cod summer night. Looking forward to next year!
Botti surprised the crowd, who would of thought he was funny and seemed a natural preformer.
Chris Botti, his band, and guests put on a fantastic show at the Melody tent. Chris Botti was amazing, funny, and so gracious to stay after the show to sign autographs and take photos with many fans. He is an outstanding entertainer, LOVED the show!!!
Excellent - Excellent - Excellent --- and it wasn't just Chris Botti's music - it was his entire teams music - and how he showcased them individually - and how they made a team --- I look forward to be able to see him again --
It was the consumate summer evening experience. Chris was masterful and shared his stage gracefully with fellow band members. It was an unforgettable eveing.
Absolutely fantastic. Now only is Chris Botti an unbelievable musician, the fellows in the band are fantastic. I'm now looking for a CD of Billy Childs his pianist. Everything was perfect last night, even the weather on Cape Cod.
Opening act sucked. Should have been more "active" to get the crowd into it. As it was, everyone was talking and not paying atentiopn to the music. Botti concert was excellent.
We have been listening to Chris Botti was a number of years. Last night was fabulous! The crowd was alive, the musicians were beyond words, just spectacular!! Chris Botti, the pianist, the drummer, the bassist, the guitarist, the keyboardist and all the special guests were flying last night. We wish it could have been taped. We'd love a live show to be taped. Thanks to all the preformers. We couldn't clap enough.
What a fabulous show by Chris Botti and his entire ensemble cast! There were guests such as an awesome violinist as well as a great vocalist, and a guitar player who played with U2! Don't forget the regular band; outstanding musicians all! Many songs from the Boston Live CD as well as hits from earlier times. Great stories and insight into life for someone so young! We went last year and we'll go again if he comes back.
What could be better. A beautiful, not humid, Cape Cod night listening to Chris Botti and his fabulous band.
Chris Botti is one of the world's greatest musicians and I really enjoyed his show. He was interactive with the audience, he has a great personality and his band is awesome. I would definately recommend anyone to go see him when he's in town!
