CHRIS BOTTI IN CONCERT:

Trumpet virtuoso Chris Botti has made a lasting impression on his audiences ever since his first touring gig with Frank Sinatra in the '80s. The trumpeter's style and grace can't be matched as he fills the room with the sounds of his 1939 Handcraft brass trumpet, spellbinding audiences with the instrument's rich tones. The Grammy Award winner has played with a number of legendary artists including Sting and Andrea Bocelli, captivating audiences with signature hits like "Regroovable" alongside classics like "Ave Maria." Chris Botti never fails to disappoint, and he's sure to take fans on a musical journey they won't soon forget with his string of 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Influenced by his mother's musical background, Chris Botti began playing the trumpet at age nine, but it wasn't until he heard the classic Miles Davis track "My Funny Valentine" several years later that he decided to pursue a career in music. During his senior year at Indiana University, Botti toured with Frank Sinatra, which led to a number of gigs with famous artists like Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin and Natalie Cole. Since then, he's released ten studio albums — seven have reached Top 10 spots on the Billboard Jazz chart — and sold three million records. He's also been the host of the radio show Chill With Chris Botti and performed with the Boston Pops Orchestra alongside John Mayer, Josh Groban, and Yo-Yo Ma. Back on the road in 2014, the trumpet virtuoso is set to captivate fans on his highly anticipated world tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Chris Botti and his group are the best of the best in the arena of ultra-talented musicians. Of course the handsome man with the horn never lets his audience down. Even though he performs 300 days a year, he gives the audience his all as though it's one show just for them."

"Not only does Chris Botti shine with his talents, he has top notch musicians and a singer to make it an overall outstanding, entertaining evening. ...will definitely try to see the next show!"

"Chris Botti was charming in relating to the audience, and put on a spectacular display of musicianship. He's one of, if not the best, at his craft."

  • Chris Botti at Genesee Thatre

by DTVB on 1/21/10Genesee Theatre - WaukeganRating: 5 out of 5

The venue was very nice, and he, of course, was wonderful. Seemed like a jam session that we were all privy to. He autographed CDs and other items and although the line was really really long, it moved pretty fast.

  • Botti gives off such a sweet sound!

by KAPH on 12/19/09Scottish Rite Auditorium - CollingswoodRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the show, saw a side of Christ Botti I never knew about..his humor. His band was terrific and the guests were spot on in their performances. We even had the opportunity to meet, get an autograph and a picture with CB himself! My only complaint was that he did no holiday music and being so close to Christmas, that would have been swell.

  • Chris Botti show was great !

chris botti puts on quite a show- two hours flew by- would definitely go see him again in a heartbeat- and of course he is adorable!

  • Chris Botti is Excellent!!

    by redzzz918 on 12/14/09Scottish Rite Auditorium - CollingswoodRating: 5 out of 5

I saw Chris Botti at the Scottish Rite in Collingswood on 12/12. This was a very nice intimate setting to see a concert. This was the third time I've seen Chris Botti in a little over a year and every time he and his band put on an excellent show. I'd see him again in a heartbeat!

  • Chris Botti was fantastic!

by lunchbunny on 12/14/09Scottish Rite Auditorium - CollingswoodRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent performance by not only Chris Botti, but his band and soloists. The location was also good-I don't htink there was a bad seat anywhere at the Scottish Rite. The only negative was that the time went by so quickly!

  • Botti was good...when he was playing

    by Reds1231 on 12/14/09Scottish Rite Auditorium - CollingswoodRating: 3 out of 5

I've seen Chris Botti three times now, and have decided that although his exposing new talent by supporting young artists is nice to see, it's getting a bit old. I'm paying good money to see Chris, and frankly, I'm not really seeing/hearing him enough. The violinist at least plays with him through a whole song or two...which is great...but the young singer, although good in her own right, is not what I'm paying to see/hear. My other comment would be that it was disappointing not to hear a holiday song...not one. Even Hallelujaha could have been played as the love theme from "Shrek." Not sure why he didn't do something for the hoidays...everyone knows he has a great Christmas CD.

  • Great event but short

    by Amer9 on 12/14/09Scottish Rite Auditorium - CollingswoodRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was too short. Mr Botti has to realize that I am one of his fan who has travelled from Washington DC for this event. It was absolutely disturbing and heart breakening and a waste of time to travel this long distance for nothing. With my professional demand being a surgeon...I hardly get anytime off... My whole weekend was ruined. Regarding Mr Chris Botti's performance .....he is a legend....one of the best talent I have ever seen, a genious ...mesmerizing...

  • The one and only Chris Botti:

by RicPam on 12/14/09Scottish Rite Auditorium - CollingswoodRating: 5 out of 5

This is the second time we have seen Chris Botti live. His musical talent with the Trumpet is superb and he surrounds himself with fabulous musicians, including a wonderful female vocalist. The Scottish Rite Auditorium was the perfect venue for him, the acoustical sound was great and the small hall was intimate. Chris and his band seemed to be having a great time on stage and his frequent comunnication with the audience was great, we were just drawn into the fun. If he is in your area we highly recommend and the ticket prices are reasonable.

absolutely amazing! Though I end up driving to Philadelphia one my way back home to NY, haha, yet Botti's jazz is like no others. He's an amazing master/

  • Chris Botti

    by mrs856nick on 12/13/09Scottish Rite Auditorium - CollingswoodRating: 5 out of 5

I purchased these tickets for my husband as a surprise. We have several of Chris's cd's and I thought it woul be nice to see him in person. IT WAS!! Our seats were fabulous.. The show was so amazing, like having a few of your closest friends over to hear great musioc. Chris was so gracious , he talked to the audience, walked down into the audience, talked to us about his music. I thougherly enjoyed it. The Scottish Rite was a great venue...a little worn, but like a old friend, so confortable. I most certainly would go there again and I certainly will go to hear Chris again. This was the perfect way to start off our holiday season.

  • Botti is the Bomb!

    by beotch419 on 12/13/09Scottish Rite Auditorium - CollingswoodRating: 5 out of 5

As usual, Chris was at his best. The band was off the hook! Mr. Billy Kilson, you outdid yourself. Mark Whitfield, you always sound great! Mr. Billy Childs, well, what is there to say? He played perfect. The bass player was a different guy than CB usually has had in the past. This guy was MUCH better, in my opinion. Sy Smith looked and sounded beautiful. My only regret is that Chris didn't play any Christmas music. I'd expected to hear Ave Maria, at the very least. All in all, this venue was great. Will go again, real soon.No seat in the house is a bad seat. Up close and personal, with great acoustics!

Really enjoyed Botti's "stories" between songs. His supporting musicians were outstanding. Botti was amazing as well. The sound he creates with the horn gives off an emotion, if that's possible. Really enjoyed it.

  • Chris Botti put on a nice show

by GroovyJan on 12/13/09Scottish Rite Auditorium - CollingswoodRating: 4 out of 5

I had bought Chris Botti tickets for my mom. Due to a scheduling change I went to see him instead of her. I am not a jazz fan. Regardless, he put on a great show. The band was full of top notch musicians and the music was fantasitc. Something even someone NOT into jazz would enjoy. Equally pleasing was the Scottish Rite Auditorium in Collingswood, NJ. It is a large enough space (holds 1000) but still intimate. Our seats were great. The acoustics were good and the decor was sophisticated. Overall, a good experience.

  • Chris is a class act.

by Ladyel on 12/13/09Scottish Rite Auditorium - CollingswoodRating: 5 out of 5

I didn't get to go but I have seen Chris before and he is so talented and a class act. I was sorry that I had to miss seeing him. He is always great to hear and look at too:)

  • Chris never disappoints

by JeanneEliz on 12/13/09Scottish Rite Auditorium - CollingswoodRating: 5 out of 5

The concert at the Scottish Rite Auditorium was crisp, cool and contagious. The nearly two hours moved along swiftly and seamlessly. I was shocked when it ended. Usually, at other concerts, I start looking at my watch long before the last note is sounded. The venue was outstanding, too. Amazing acoustics - and I was in the next to the last row! We heard every note played and every syllable spoken. It was a wonderful evening.

  • Chris Botti & group: magical musicians

by Errickson on 12/13/09Scottish Rite Auditorium - CollingswoodRating: 5 out of 5

What a magical night! Chris Botti showed why he has become such a mucial sensation.. Though his technical wizardry is evident, he never lets it get in the way of the actual melodies. Ditto his band. It's great that he surrounds himself with the best of the best musicians - all the parts are excellent, and the sum of the parts are nothing less than spectacular. My family and I were blown away with the sheer joy, fun and playfulness of the music. We also loved his guests, Caroline Campbell & Sy Smith, who were no less spectacular in their own right. There was not one moment that was not entertaining. Even when Chris was sharing his stories or talking about the music, that was also very enjoyable. I don't think it's a stretch to say that he & his band are musical geniuses. There is no one out there that beats him!

Did not enjoy the type of music played. Enjoyed the violinist.

This was a super show. I really liked Chris interaction with the Band and Audience. The guest singer and violinist were just super
