About

CHRIS BOTTI IN CONCERT:

Trumpet virtuoso Chris Botti has made a lasting impression on his audiences ever since his first touring gig with Frank Sinatra in the '80s. The trumpeter's style and grace can't be matched as he fills the room with the sounds of his 1939 Handcraft brass trumpet, spellbinding audiences with the instrument's rich tones. The Grammy Award winner has played with a number of legendary artists including Sting and Andrea Bocelli, captivating audiences with signature hits like "Regroovable" alongside classics like "Ave Maria." Chris Botti never fails to disappoint, and he's sure to take fans on a musical journey they won't soon forget with his string of 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Influenced by his mother's musical background, Chris Botti began playing the trumpet at age nine, but it wasn't until he heard the classic Miles Davis track "My Funny Valentine" several years later that he decided to pursue a career in music. During his senior year at Indiana University, Botti toured with Frank Sinatra, which led to a number of gigs with famous artists like Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin and Natalie Cole. Since then, he's released ten studio albums — seven have reached Top 10 spots on the Billboard Jazz chart — and sold three million records. He's also been the host of the radio show Chill With Chris Botti and performed with the Boston Pops Orchestra alongside John Mayer, Josh Groban, and Yo-Yo Ma. Back on the road in 2014, the trumpet virtuoso is set to captivate fans on his highly anticipated world tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Chris Botti and his group are the best of the best in the arena of ultra-talented musicians. Of course the handsome man with the horn never lets his audience down. Even though he performs 300 days a year, he gives the audience his all as though it's one show just for them."

"Not only does Chris Botti shine with his talents, he has top notch musicians and a singer to make it an overall outstanding, entertaining evening. ...will definitely try to see the next show!"

"Chris Botti was charming in relating to the audience, and put on a spectacular display of musicianship. He's one of, if not the best, at his craft."

The band together was great. The comeback of the violinist touched my heart. Music was great, but didn't play my favorite of his so a little sad.

  • Don't miss Chris Botti!

by ericlane on 2/15/10Flint Center - CupertinoRating: 5 out of 5

As a wanna be trumpeter I've attended Chris Botti concerts since he was playing at the Mall in Concord, Ca... while building his post-Sting career. Chris has always been a great trumpeter... and for the last couple of years he has become a great entertainer too. His band is a collection of superstars. WOW what a team. Chris seems to have fun, be inspired and relaxed by the great musicians he has around him. Chris also has fun with the audience; he creates both fun and meaningful moments during his concerts (highlighting young musicians.... and at this concert , allowing a email fan/audience member to propose to his girlfriend... and yes, she accepted). His show's artistic range has broadened too... from mellow Jazz, to cool/hot Jazz to Classical. If you love music you'll love attending a Chris Botti concert. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

  • Must see Chris in Live!

by SanJoseChrisLover on 2/14/10Flint Center - CupertinoRating: 5 out of 5

Chris Botti is an amazing musician. His CDs are great but until you go to see his concert in live, you don't know how amazing he is. He seemed to enjoy playing with his band and guests. Chris is the great trumpeter and performer as his concert is so fun and beautiful. I love the combination of Chris and Caroline Campbell, violinist.

  • Great Show

  • Chris Botti and the Band is a National Treasure!!!

by Eromance on 2/13/10Flint Center - CupertinoRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic ! I wished it never ended. Would of liked to hear more songs from Thousands Kisses Deep, but it's because the true fans can't get enough. We have seen Chris Botti since the Broadmoor in 2003 and been to 6 concerts of his (Fresno, Mtn. Winery, SF, Montalvo, etc.). Billy Childs, Billy Kilson, Matt Whitfield and the new members are unbelievable and Caroline Campbell and Sy Smith were unforgetable. Hope to see him soon. Maybe jazz up some Todd Rundgren classics (Hello Its Me, Saw the Light, etc.)

  • beautiful music from a beautiful person

Botti does not only look handsome but also has a loving, caring character. He plays out beautiful music which comes from within. Keep it up with you, Chris! May God bless you abundantly that you continue to be a great blessing to many others through your concerts.

  • Great as always

    by lj42 on 2/12/10Flint Center - CupertinoRating: 5 out of 5

Have been following Chris since 1st appeared at Saratoga Winery as opening act some time ago. Have liked since so much along the lines of Miles who he references often. Band very tight and individuals excellent in their own rights. If not seen before, might want to catch at Davies Hall in S.F. on June 3 of this year. Oh! See you there!

  • Chris Botti - what can I say....

  • Botticelli or Bottitrompeti

by Luces on 2/11/10Flint Center - CupertinoRating: 4 out of 5

Better live than on CD. Artistry is hard to beat. He and the crew do it effortlessly.

  • Lots of drums

    by Patc07 on 2/11/10Flint Center - CupertinoRating: 4 out of 5

In all it was a wonderful show. Chris Botti has a lovely sound on the trumpet and a delightful stage presence. Billy Childs piano was beautiful, and the keyboard artist (whose name I couldn't hear) added depth to the music. All of the guest performers were fine additions. My only complaint is that the drummer, while talented, forgot that he wasn't the headliner. My impression is he was too much, too loud, too show-off! I got this from the first number to his last.

  • Totally Awesome Chris Botti concert!

by JJORGS on 2/11/10Flint Center - CupertinoRating: 5 out of 5

This was my 3rd Chris Botti concert and I can't wait to go to my next one! He has such a great rapport with his audience and puts on an amazing show!!! He's a great trumpet player and his band is great, too!

  • Wonderful.........*

by Joyfulgirl on 2/11/10Flint Center - CupertinoRating: 4 out of 5

Chris and his band were phenomenal. I have always wanted to see them, and remembered why I love them so much. ;) I cannot wait until he returns to the Bay Area in June. The only dissapointing part of the evening was the location of the seats. I would have paid twice as much for tickets, in order to be closer to the stage. In my opinion, I think it would be helpful if the Flint Center could update it's seating chart online.

  • Chris Botti

    by DAISY03 on 2/11/10Flint Center - CupertinoRating: 4 out of 5

Husband and I went last night to early Valentine's dinner and a great show with Chris Botti. We had second row seats, the band was amazing and funny. Chris played beautifully. A audience member was able to come on stage and propose to his fiance, and Chris played Funny Valentine to them. Some of the band's solo's go on alittle to long and Christ likes to speak to the audience. With the solo's and speaking it cut's into time to hear more of Chris amazing trumpet playing. Also, had quest violinst and a singer with the best FRO I have seen in quite awhile. She was beautiful with a great voice. After the concert we went to a local bar for a after soncert drink, Chris and some of his band were there relaxing.
