About

Chicago, at first dubbed The Chicago Transit Authority, immediately stood out due to their unique, horn-driven instrumentation and top-notch songwriting, a combination that quickly found a home on  free-form FM radio in the late '60s. After 45-plus years in business, Chicago's music has never left the airwaves and the band remains on tour more often than not, playing concerts in every corner of North America. With a catalog of hits  including "Saturday in the Park," "Beginnings," "If You Leave Me Now," "Baby What a Big Surprise," "You're the Inspiration," and "Hard Habit To Break," fans are always eager to snap up tickets to catch one of the most successful American rock bands in history. Four members of the group's current lineup -- vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist Robert Lamm and horn section members Lee Loughnane, James Pankow and Walter Parazaider -- date back to Chicago's formation in 1967. Even today, the band isn't just about nostalgia; Chicago continues to record new singles and albums regularly.

  • Great concert, great venue, horrible parking

by PghGoodGuy on 11/8/25UPMC Events Center - Moon TownshipRating: 4 out of 5

It was a great concert by Chicago. Band sounded great and full of energy. Better second half than the first, as the band interacted with the crowd more in the second set. 28 total songs, including the two encores. Very surprised by the UPMC Events Center at RMU - not a bad seat in the house. Outside of the house though is a different story. Line of cars to get into the on campus parking areas was at least a mile long 1 hour before the show. So, word of advice, park in the shopping center lot across the street from the campus entrance up near Burger King and walk to the Events Center. You'll have quick access to rt 51, away from everyone parking on campus, as well as everyone else who will be trying to enter rt 51 at the only light leading into and out of the shopping plaza parking lot

  • The band's performance and sound system were excellent

by glaird54 on 11/8/25UPMC Events Center - Moon TownshipRating: 4 out of 5

Only bad part of the night was the venue. Access to parking was horrible, and entry into the venue was super slow. The concert started late by 20 minutes because anytime before that a third of the audience was still trying to park and get into the building. I would definitely recommend for anyone to see the current Chicago Band., and the venue itself was a good place to see them, but the poor parking and entry problems were a definite negative for the concert itself.

  • Great Experience Overall

by Suk on 11/8/25UPMC Events Center - Moon TownshipRating: 4 out of 5

Chicago still sound great after 58 years! They played some of their lesser known tunes in the first hour. Following the break they came back energized and played all their hits and a rocking encore. The venue is intimate and there are no bad seats. The parking leaves much to be desired. The wind and rain made it that much more challenging, given we had to park a brisk 10 min walk away.

  • Great time - not a bad seat in the place! However...

by Chicago was FABULOUS!! on 11/8/25UPMC Events Center - Moon TownshipRating: 4 out of 5

The band was great, the sound phenomenal! Love going to events at UPMC Events Center! However the parking is CRAZY! We had to walk for what seemed forever. There should be directional signs for post-parking because at this venue when you park that far out and the WIND is crazy in-your-face it's hard to tell which way to go! Usually you can follow the crowd but it seemed like people were going in different directions.

  • A Great Show

by Kebro on 11/8/25UPMC Events Center - Moon TownshipRating: 5 out of 5

Chicago's original members have dwindled down to one (Lee Loughnane). The newer guys are all great but missed seeing Jimmy and Robert. UPMC is a great small (3000-5000) venue.

  • Excellent, entertaining show

by Gigi on 11/8/25UPMC Events Center - Moon TownshipRating: 5 out of 5

The musicians/vocalists are superb and clearly love to perform. The band members are quite good at getting the audience engaged, up on their feet, even dancing. A troupe of true entertainers!

  • Great time

by Patty on 11/8/25UPMC Events Center - Moon TownshipRating: 5 out of 5

The venue was clean well kept. Well lit. Sound level was great when the band played. The seats seem too close together though. No cup holders .There are armrests. Very tiny ones. The venue was easy to find and park. Personnel were friendly. The line for entrance into the concert moved at a good pace! "Chicago"the band we saw was stellar!! Great time !!!

  • Wonderful

by Rennie on 11/8/25UPMC Events Center - Moon TownshipRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was great, music the soundtrack of our lives. Different orchestration for some of the songs really worked. Venue needs more parking for a concert this size.

  • Band was good, sound system was weak

by Clubfoot on 11/8/25UPMC Events Center - Moon TownshipRating: 3 out of 5

I thought the band was great, but the sound system was weak. They went with a couple towers on the ceiling, which seemed to miss some lower frequencies. Sound like a stock car stereo. Expected better sound for a concert. Guitars and horns didn't sound big enough.

  • Lots of fun and energy

by Bearman on 11/8/25UPMC Events Center - Moon TownshipRating: 5 out of 5

AThe Chicago concert was a great experience. The band was lively and energetic. The crowd was having a great time. The jams were much more than I expected. A great medley of songs both before the intermission and during the second half of the show. Definitely recommend for fans of Chicago.

  • Old Days still Great

by Santa on 11/8/25UPMC Events Center - Moon TownshipRating: 5 out of 5

Show was fantastic. The musicianship, vocals and sound was as good as can be. If you like classic rock, go see this show.

  • Excellent show, excellent vocals

by Judy on 11/8/25UPMC Events Center - Moon TownshipRating: 5 out of 5

The 2 nd time I have seen Chicago , first time being over 20 years ago. The horns, vocals, music was spot on! They sang every song I wanted to hear, with the highlight for me “Begnning”. A thoroughly enjoyable evening!

  • Another great performance by Chicago

by ReRe on 11/8/25UPMC Events Center - Moon TownshipRating: 4 out of 5

This was my third time seeing Chicago; the first being in 1972. It was great hearing some of their all-time hits live, again. The band sounds great. The venue was very nice; not too big. The sound was great inside the UPMC Event Center. No fee to park, and plenty of handicapped spots, which is important for an aging audience. My only complaint is that the people at the concessions kept the bottle top from the bottle of water I purchased. I was told that they don't leave the bottle tops on because they've had issues with people throwing them. I understand the reasoning, but I feel they should vary their policy based on the anticipated audience. Most of the people at this concert were of retirement age or older. I don't think it would have been an issue on that particular night, and it was very inconvenient not to be able to cap the bottle. I had to keep it pinned between my feet most of the show to keep it from spilling.

  • great show

Played all their songs and sounded great, I would go again!

  • Get

by Trim on 11/8/25UPMC Events Center - Moon TownshipRating: 5 out of 5

Meeting the band pre show, front row center seats & rocking together to all the hits was a treat never to be forgotten!!!

  • Worst venue

by Chicago fan on 11/8/25UPMC Events Center - Moon TownshipRating: 1 out of 5

No police directing traffic, mile long traffic in both directions, not enough accessible parking, ADA had to park on top of a hill in inclement weather.. THEN we enter the arena only to find out Robert Lamm and James Pankow weren’t attending so even though the music was great, it was more of a tribute band. Worse venue in history

  • great time

by Wizard on 11/8/25UPMC Events Center - Moon TownshipRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was awesome and no opening band made it even better.

  • Great show, bad parking available!!!

by Russ on 11/8/25UPMC Events Center - Moon TownshipRating: 5 out of 5

Chicago never disappoints. Even with only Lee the band was tight and delivered. Show could always be longer but just the fact they still tour is great!!! Parking really needs addressed at this venue. Older people having to walk half way across campus is not wise.

  • Chicago- still got punch

by Aussie on 11/8/25UPMC Events Center - Moon TownshipRating: 4 out of 5

Big fan for decades - since they are 70+yrs was surprised how good they were. Big sound great music. Bit loud - not much light and shade in the volume. Their new singer was phenomenal - in George Michael league. If they got a good sound guy it would have been perfect.
