About

Chicago, at first dubbed The Chicago Transit Authority, immediately stood out due to their unique, horn-driven instrumentation and top-notch songwriting, a combination that quickly found a home on  free-form FM radio in the late '60s. After 45-plus years in business, Chicago's music has never left the airwaves and the band remains on tour more often than not, playing concerts in every corner of North America. With a catalog of hits  including "Saturday in the Park," "Beginnings," "If You Leave Me Now," "Baby What a Big Surprise," "You're the Inspiration," and "Hard Habit To Break," fans are always eager to snap up tickets to catch one of the most successful American rock bands in history. Four members of the group's current lineup -- vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist Robert Lamm and horn section members Lee Loughnane, James Pankow and Walter Parazaider -- date back to Chicago's formation in 1967. Even today, the band isn't just about nostalgia; Chicago continues to record new singles and albums regularly.

    Fun Concert

by Dave on 3/2/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las Vegas

We really enjoyed this concert. Chicago's big band sound was a true "wall of sound"and the concert arena at The Venetian had such great acoustics that you could hear every separate instrument. The band members looked like they were truly enjoying themselves, making it fun for the audience. They played all of their hits and took every opportunity to get the crowd involved. Definitely worth the price of admission!

    Tribute band

by Tomtomaz on 3/2/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las Vegas

These guys sound like a tribute band, with only 2 members of the original band and they tried to flaunt their roles…to mixed success…the sound system over amplified the music to the point that vocals were unrecognizable…hence a mixed experience

Just not the Chicago I’ve known😞

by Wallyway on 3/2/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las Vegas

Robert Lamm didn’t even show up. I think 57 years for a band to play is awesome but it’s time for them to quit. Jimmy and Lee were the only two there from the originals and did a great job! I missed Walt and I hope he’s doing ok dispite his Alzheimer’s. It’s just not the same Chicago obviously. They’re trying to duplicate it with replacements but it just wasn’t working for me. This is the 12th time I’ve seen them live and sorry to say the worst. I wish we all weren’t getting so old! Hang in guys but quit and enjoy life with your families. I know it’s hard to quit what you love!!

    Still a great concert

by Steve on 3/2/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las Vegas

While there are only 3 original members of Chicago, there are several others who have been with the band for many years. These guys are definitely worth the price of admission. Jimmy Pankow (trombone) is a show unto himself. A most enjoyable way to spend an evening with some great music.

Loved the entire concert and all the brass the band plays. 57 years is a long time for a band to continue!

    Chicago still rocks

by the Beast on 2/29/24Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

We went to the Chicago concert at the Thousand Oaks Performing Arts Center and saw a fantastic show. The venue was small, and we did have great seats in the 10th row. The sound was good, we know all the words to the songs and the band was great as usual. This was my 11th Chicago concert so you can see I am a big fan!! I love the brass instruments, the 2 percussionists and the rest of them. The lead singer sounds just like the original lead, and it is special to see the original 2 members of the band still having a wonderful time on stage!

Had one of the best times ever! They never disappoint! One of my favorite bands in the entire world, seen them about 50 times! I have also met them at meet and greet, and they are such nice down to earth, gentlemen!

    An amazing show

by NewWorldsFair on 2/29/24The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las Vegas

Had never listened to a great deal of Chicago previously (only their big hits to be truthful) but we were blown away by the amazing musicianship on display throughout this concert. I would heartily urge anyone to go and see this 2 hour show of brilliant music.

Still amazing after all these years

by VC Angel on 2/29/24Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

Beside feeling very old after realizing how long Chicago has been playing (57 years), it was a great show and even more amazing to have a couple of the founding members still playing as they did 50 years ago. The only reason I did 4 stars instead of 5 is the sound quality of the auditorium was not that great. It’s a small venue and I have attended many events there so I know this is not something new or unique to this show, but the acoustics made it difficult to hear the lyrics very clearly. And we were in the 7th row from the stage so I can imagine it was even worse for the folks in the back or upstairs on the balcony area. Still, I would do it all again so I would highly recommend seeing these guys if you have a chance.

    Chicago in Thousand Oaks

by Rick on 2/28/24Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

They never disappoint. Been a fan since I first heard Make Me Smile in the early 70’s. First concert of there’s at the Mississippi River Music Festival in 74. Best concert was Beach Boys and Chicago in Anaheim in 75. The stadium was rocking so much they thought the stands were gonna crack. Many concerts since then. Last Sunday at the Kavili in Thousand Oaks was as usual over the top. My favorite group ever.

It’s good but not that great

by Piglet on 2/28/24Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

We’re very excited to see Chicago performance plus the venue is very close to our location. However, they pretty pumped up on the musical and less in singing. We were expecting more singing performance from the band. I don’t think they can sing continuously now. They gave too much time highlighting the drummers, aerophones. The lead singer’s voice was good, think he can still sing but didn’t come out with a powerful voice- very faint and the band overpowered the entire singing.
