About

Chicago, at first dubbed The Chicago Transit Authority, immediately stood out due to their unique, horn-driven instrumentation and top-notch songwriting, a combination that quickly found a home on  free-form FM radio in the late '60s. After 45-plus years in business, Chicago's music has never left the airwaves and the band remains on tour more often than not, playing concerts in every corner of North America. With a catalog of hits  including "Saturday in the Park," "Beginnings," "If You Leave Me Now," "Baby What a Big Surprise," "You're the Inspiration," and "Hard Habit To Break," fans are always eager to snap up tickets to catch one of the most successful American rock bands in history. Four members of the group's current lineup -- vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist Robert Lamm and horn section members Lee Loughnane, James Pankow and Walter Parazaider -- date back to Chicago's formation in 1967. Even today, the band isn't just about nostalgia; Chicago continues to record new singles and albums regularly.

    Chicago Concert in Louisville

by Joe Momma on 5/27/24The Louisville Palace - Louisville

There were some sound issues early on, appears they were trying to correct them but a couple microphones still sounded terrible OR someone inexperienced on the sound board? Loved the show except for the poor sound quality issues.

    Concert fantastic!

by John E on 5/27/24The Louisville Palace - Louisville

Loved Chicago and absolutely loved the venue. Architecturally significant and perfect acoustics! Seats were excellent, Orchestra 1, Row AA. Only thing less than stellar were the seeming lack of non-alcoholic refreshments.

One of the most spectacular concerts I have seen this year

by Colonelmike on 5/27/24The Louisville Palace - Louisville

I have been seeing concerts by some of my favorite groups of the 70s this year.........CHICAGO lives and breathes the music like it was the 70s all over. Or the 80s. for that matter. Lee Loughnane. Robert Lamm, and James Pankow - the three remaining original members - play and sing like they were 30 years younger, all while bouncing around the stage in a way this 62 year old wishes he could still do. The "new"(er) members of the group mesh so well......you could almost hear Peter Cetera, Terry Kath, Walter Parazaider and Company still on stage.... How good was it? Repeated standing ovations from the Louisville Palace crowd......the "Make Me Smile - Colour My World"combination was a HUGE hit with the fans and back to back renditions of power ballads "Hard for Me to Say I'm Sorry"and "You're the Inspiration"kept the crowd on their feet. By the time the band played the encore, the fans were already on their feet for good. The vast majority of us in the audience were in our sixties, but the atmosphere had taken us all back to our teen age years and it was an amazing feeling. The band had matured, but they are still every bit the entertainers they have always been, and the musicianship remains top notch. If you ever claimed to be a fan of Chicago, this is a show you have to see this year.

    rockin'

by rb3 on 5/27/24The Louisville Palace - Louisville

Chicago gives and energetic show with talented muscians. A style not heard as much today with a large band of 10 or more insrumentalist and singers with complex harmonies and great arranging skill. It did take the first half to really dial in the sound, lead singers were hard to hear at first. They took a 20 min. intermission but still played 2 hours if you stayed for both enchores. Chicago takes you back when the greatest way to hear and see a band was live.

    Chicago Continues to Rock!

    by SandD on 5/27/24

This band continues to consistently put on a high energy, polished perfection of a show! Having seen the band dozens of times since 1992, The atmosphere in 2024 continues to be electric. The talent of every single musician on the stage is to be appreciated. Jimmy, Lee, and Robert are ageless wonders and continue to sound phenomenal! Neil is a great fit for this band. The high note that he holds for a very long time on You're the Inspiration-- Wow! His introduction of the band members/bios, nicely done. Wally and Ray are so much fun rocking the percussion! Great job to every single member of this current line up. Chicago: passionate about what they do, and doing it well, genuinely care about the fans and it shows! Great performers and great human beings. If you have not seen this band live, please do! The video screen background during the show creates an unique experience to further connect the audience to the band and is fun. The Palace Theater in Loiusville was a beautiful, ornate, historic venue and and an easy walk from anywhere downtown. It is an indoor venue but almost feels if outdoors, due to the design and lighting. It fit Chicago well. The line to get in to the venue was about a half mile down the street and took us about 25 minutes to get in, which wasn't ideal, though definitely no fault of the band. The audience was lively and friendly. I left the concert highly entertained refreshed, recharged, inspired and feeling nostaligic! Thankful my favorite band is still going strong, 32 years after first seeing them live and 57 years after they first began touring! I continue to see them year after year because they really are that great! Line-ups in a long time bands will come and go, but the core is still there, the horns are as strong as ever, and the heart is still there. Great songs are timeless and Chicago still is an amazing value and quality show! I highly recommend Chicago in concert!

The band was energetic and the music was its usual great! Can't wait to see them again. BTW this was my 23rd Chicago concert.

When you look up the definition of “a band” Chicago is a prime example. Extraordinary musicianship and…….they rocked the place. 57 years in and still fresh! Not too many can make that claim.

    Entertaining-10 members all on stage-Wow!

by Kate H on 5/21/24Vibrant Music Hall - Waukee

Chicago was unbelievable. Three of the 10 members are the original members of Chicago. They have been performing for 57 years and I’ll put them against any of these newer bands today. It was entertaining, energetic, enthusiastic the band was appreciative, Grateful and pure showmanship. The members were fun to watch and my husband who was resistance at first to go said it was better than any of these concerts he has seen lately -a great group of guys that deserve the best. The 2 1/2 hours flew by of great music. Thank you Chicago

by JB on 5/21/24Vibrant Music Hall - Waukee

The new Vibrant Music Hall in Waukee, IA is amazing! Small but intimate. Plenty of bars/staff, restrooms, and the acoustics were great! We have seen Chicago 5 times and that was the best they have ever sounded!

    One of the best

by Stevep on 5/21/24Vibrant Music Hall - Waukee

My wife bought Chicago VIP tickets for Vibrant Music Hall in Waukee, Iowa. It could not have been a more perfect time. Vibrant Music Hall is a smaller venue, set up for concerts and entertainment. It was the perfect place. And Chicago, great music from a group that has a personality. Robert, James and Lee - the three original members - showed how music should be performed. I waited 52 years to finally see them live. It was everything I hoped for. And James, thanks for the thumbs up!
