After 25 years, CHICAGO is still the one musical with everything that makes Broadway shimmy-shake: a universal tale of fame, fortune, and all that jazz, with one show stopping song after another and the most astonishing dancing you've ever seen. No wonder CHICAGO has been honored with 6 Tony Awards®, 2 Olivier Awards, a Grammy®, and thousands of standing ovations. As we celebrate our 25th anniversary --you've got to come see why the name on everyone's lips is still...CHICAGO.
Over the top production that becomes the ultimate crowd pleaser!!
I was please with my seat, the price overall everything was fine
The volume in the theater was so low that we could barely hear the dialogue and soloists, who were clearly excellent otherwise.
The Broadway show of Chicago in NY was 10 times better.
The back up dancers and Mama are the shows highlights! The main characters are just ok.. Roxy plays more of a dimwit than cunning. Most scenes needed to have more choreography rather than just standing there!
Excellent cast! Chicago had the right jazzy sultry vibe with superb dancing and singing with a few fun moments thrown in. My only critique is Roxy's monologue dragged on way too much. It felt like they were vamping after awhile. Closing number was good but conpared with other choreography it felt anticlimactic. Overall loved the music, cast, and witty dialogue. They also had open captions for accessibility which I applaud!
Entertaining from start to finish, this rendition of Chicago is fabulous and fun. The choreography is perfection, the characters completely rope you into their world, and the band is phenomenal. Velma Kelly steals the show! A must see!
This performance was the best I've ever seen. No one actor was better than the other. All simply top of their game. My granddaughter and I just loved it.
Literally SO TERRIBLE. There was not a single set change, or costume change for any characters except Roxie put on blazer over her dress. This made it extremely difficult to follow the story or understand what was going on, especially for someone who had never seen it before. The actor who played Velma was the worst part of the show. They're voice barely carried to the first row of the balcony, they didn't hit the high notes or the low notes and they were easily the worst dancer in the entire cast. They really downplayed all the sexy burlesque aspects of the show as well. Got the tickets for an xmass gift for my wife and she was extremely disappointed, if it wasn't for her I would have left at intermission.
We had tickets to the play Chicago Sunday night, January 22. It was a marvelous event. The CIBC theater was packed and the audience was alive. The moment the lead actresses appeared people were applauding. The show was invigorating. We could hear well see well. Couldn’t have been a better experience. The two hours went by very quickly. It made us want to come home and watch the movie Chicago.
It a was a great, enjoyable, wonderful performance.
Chicago was so fun! The dancers were incredible and the stage was on fire.
Chicago was once again an amazing show. All actors were fantastic. Was dissappointed in the final number with Velma and Roxy however. Should of been a WOW number and was just blah. Velma needs t work on her dancing. But all in all the show was fantastic.
Highly recommend this show. Cast to orchestra, every person did an amazing job. Even love the little surprise(s).
The music and performers were fantastic - loved the band right on stage! I would like to see this one in a theater other than CIBC. Balcony seats that weren't labeled with obstructed view, did have obstructed view. Couldn't see the horn section of the band at all.
My husband and I really enjoyed this from start to finish! The cast was awesome and the audience was totally engaged. The songs are great and there is never a dull moment in this show. It's very funny and entertaining. I highly recommend!
Performance was okay but honestly due to the quality of the sound I wish I could have my money back. Could hear the live band in beautifully crisp clarity. The singing and miked character conversations were nearly inaudible. Honestly ruined the show. Huge disappointment. Two stars for the performance of the band, but when you can't hear what's going it the show is ruined.
I usually am super happy with the musicals I’ve seen in the past. This one fell short imo. They cut corners by having no costume changes and no background/scenery. The only props used were chairs. I did love seeing the orchestra. They were pretty amazing! All in all, it was a nice night out…but it just felt dragged out a bit and I lost interest because the visual excitement just wasn’t there for me, sorry to say.
The theatre itself was beautiful - but the performance! WOW. All of the performers were absolutely incredible; with extra emphasis on Mama (Christina Wells), Velma (Logan Floyd), Amos (Brian Kalinowski), and the musicians. Bravo à vous tous.
Terrific production at a great venue. We thought the show was very well cast.
