Chicago Sky History

The Chicago Sky are an American professional basketball team in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The team played their first season in 2006, then qualified for their first postseason in 2013 before advancing to the Finals for the first time in 2014. Initially led by Sylvia Fowles, who won WNBA Defensive Player of the Year twice as a member of Chicago, the Sky experienced more success with 2015 MVP Elena Delle Donne and seven-time league assist leader Courtney Vandersloot. In 2021, the Chicago Sky won their first WNBA Championship with a squad featuring Vandersloot, Finals MVP Kahleah Copper and seven-time All-Star Candace Parker. After the Sky drafted Angel Reese in 2024, the rookie center set the WNBA record for highest single-season rebound average and later earned the league’s Peak Performer honor for rebounds.

  • Separating Women from Our Purses

by WomanWithPurse on 8/2/23Rating: 1 out of 5

I am furious that this arena doesn’t allow women to keep their purses on them. We stood in a long line to go into a small dark rook with lockers to surrender all bags including small purses. All venues do not separate women from their purses. AND this is the WNBA!! My husband and I refused to surrender my purse to a locker and forfeited the use of our WNBA tickets. This was our first and last attempt to see WNBA. Our money and time was wasted. Shame on you Wintrust Arena. You need to change the name.

Career high for all star player, celebrity both local and ownership, clean facilities. Long concession lines, to almost 2 full quarters in line.

All my Daughters play Basketball, and to be able to Score tickets for my Daughters, my Wife and I, also on Mother's day Weekend and then for the Team We wanted to Win was something we all will Never Forget. Thank you for putting on an Event that was so important for our Family, City, Country, Province, Scotia Bank Arena and Everybody Individually. It couldn't have been better in my opinion.

  • What a first!

    by LD4 on 5/16/23Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Incredible to see the turnout for the first WNBA game in Canada. So many young women and a diverse crowd to welcome the players. I hope that this is just the start of many more games and a new franchise when the WNBA expands in a couple of years.

  • Best Day Ever!

This is the first time that WNBA game is played in Canada. It was definitely worth it , for the price of the seats to the atmosphere in the building. What a great event !

  • WNBA in Toronto!

by Yobe on 5/16/23Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great game. Highly competitive and fast paced. I did not realize it was a pre-season game. Both teams played hard right to the end like it was a play-off game. I would definitely go again…. Even consider being a season ticket holder if Toronto gets a team.

  • Waiting for a Toronto team!!

A great event and amazing activations that led up to the game. The gameday execution was so much fun and my sisters and I bought a lot of gear while in the arena. The game was entertaining and the energy was through the roof. As mentioned, Toronto wants and deserves a WNBA team :)

by Elle Bee on 5/16/23Scotiabank Arena - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

History was made on this day and I’m so grateful I got to be a part of it and bring my daughter along with me! For her to see what’s possible if she works hard and continues to excel at basketball was just phenomenal. Seeing the arena packed warmed my heart and I would absolutely love to see Toronto get a WNBA franchise!
