About

Alejandro Sanchez, better known as Chezile, has had the kind of overnight success that would give anyone whiplash. After 2023 psych-pop single Beanie went viral on TikTok, giving Sanchez 1.6 million monthly listeners in under two months, he went from living out of his car in Los Angeles to getting calls from labels. A sensitive soul, the Albuquerque-born multi-instrumentalist and child of Mexican regional musicians is now based in San Diego, where hes hard at work on a full-length debut.

After 47 garnered an audience for a sentimentality melded with reverberated guitar, an austere indie rock caught somewhere between Tame Impala and Cigarettes After Sex, Chezile kept digging inward. Life now forever changed by his circumstance, he centered himself in childhood explorations skateboarding through the desert landscape of New Mexico in Al?. The EPs self referential nature sees Cheziles nickname pronounced like the skateboard trick give an underlying warmth to the music, the kind of feeling one would get flipping through a scrapbook years later when, upon reflection, one is living a completely different moment.

[47] was a tough time of my life, he says of his last EP. I think this next project, in comparison, has a lot of elements from my childhood, and tackles trying to deal with the music industry while maintaining that inner child, that little Ale.

Compared to 47, Al? is a hug rather than an echo of melancholia. The title track and lead single, driven by a piano-run and Cheziles voice, sees him reminiscing on childhood comforts and struggles, through memories of broken air conditioners and skating through patches of brown grass. Kevs House sees him channel an old friendship, and Hotel makes a metaphor of the thousand eyes now on him. He leans into his sentimental strengths on tender love song Wya, with vocals that call to mind Frank Oceans White Ferrari begging you to come closer and really listen.

  • Lullabies For Adults

by MELU on 11/11/25The Atlantis - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Chezille is a reincarnated star in the sky visiting us bathing us in a pure spirit of true passion and when he sings. His voice gets inside me, and I feel it deeply, like deeply in my spirit. I say lullabies for adults bc that is what it feels like to me, I feel utterly soothed by this music and the words. The sound is refined seamlessly and the harmony in the band and its members, the talent of these musicians is for full display. They are able to flow together as if they were predestined for perfection. This is the only concert that I have not taken a single picture aside of my friend and I. Why? The resonance, the beautiful flow of sounds coming from this band, coming from a voice that flows like the sea is to be experienced, never contained bc it’s not possible to trap such beauty. It can only be adored, respected, and truely revered. It’s obvious that this energy will continue to climb and I sincerely hope they can keep this magic sacred and it not spoil with fame. I hope that Chezille really nurtures himself and his beautiful vocal cords bc he is so insanely gifted and I feel this beauty comes naturally. The soul healing medicine of this band is pure and efficient. I feel incredibly lucky to of had this experience.

I have attended 3 Chezile shows and everytime I have been beyond amazed by how talented he is and the amazing performance he puts on. We all know that all of his songs are amazing but having the opportunity to experience hearing him live has been one of the BEST!
