  • Not Great at all

by Jessica on 12/4/21North Charleston Performing Arts Center - North CharlestonRating: 1 out of 5

This show was unfortunately one of the worst I’ve ever attended. It was good to see such a classic Christmas movie in a public setting, especially after everything we’ve been through with the pandemic. BUT the commentary portion with Chevy Chase and his wife afterward was just awful. Not well planned at all. Chevy acted as though he couldn’t hear, didn’t realize he was on stage half the time and his microphone was also have issues throughout the entire show. The conversations on stage were DEAD. It was so bad, people were leaving in hordes and we decided to join them.

  • Not Good

by Laura on 12/4/21North Charleston Performing Arts Center - North CharlestonRating: 2 out of 5

The Chevy Chase interaction was not at all what we expected and what we were willing to pay a premium price for. Chevy is in no condition to be on tour due to his health and mental cognition. He was almost incoherent and his wife and the moderator did most of the talking. Very disappointing and we left after 30 minutes of disjointed dialogue.

  • Huge letdown

by JB on 12/4/21North Charleston Performing Arts Center - North CharlestonRating: 2 out of 5

We were very excited, my husband and I to take our college age daughter and her friend to see the Christmas vacation movie and then listen to questions and answers by Chevy Chase. As always the movie was great, however afterwards I can't say the same. From where we were sitting, we couldn't see facial expressions and could barely hear the responses that were given. One of the main points Chevy Chase made was that comedic actors are full of expression, but this venue didn't allow for us to see that. There were two big screens on the side of the stage that could have had the actor and his wife projected there, however they were not It was a struggle to sit through the question and answer period And a good portion of the audience left during this time as well probably feeling the same way we did. Chevy Chase is an old 79 and it was difficult trying to listen to this legend share stories and information.

  • The Decline of Chevy

by Mattie on 12/4/21North Charleston Performing Arts Center - North CharlestonRating: 1 out of 5

It was very obvious that Chevy has the beginnings of dementia. His wife was with him and having to prompt him to remind him of what to say. It felt like he was being exploited and the entire interview portion that I was able to sit through was very obviously a cash grab. This man in decline does not need to be paraded around on a tour. We left before the interview was over because it was so hard to watch. I hate that I wasted $75 to watch my favorite Christmas movie with a building full of strangers when I could have done the same thing safely, at home, for free.

  • Great movie, as expected, but that’s all

by Matt on 12/4/21North Charleston Performing Arts Center - North CharlestonRating: 2 out of 5

Watching Christmas Vacation for the 1,000 time on the big screen was great! However the interview session with Chevy, his wife and a moderator was disappointing. First, the sound with Chevy’s lapel mic had issues most of the night (until they brought him a hand held nearly an hour into the interview. Most importantly, Chevy appeared uninterested and sounded incoherent until we left about an hour into the interview. IMO, this behavior was some shtick, but it seems Chevy may not have the capacity to command/hold an audience of this size. It seems members of his family and team should have realized this before booking nationwide tour. Lastly, the price of admission was definitely not worth it. My hope is that this will be the final tour for Chevy. He deserves peace and dignity, and shouldn’t be propped up on stage night after night.

  • Wasted money

This was awful. The show seemed unprepared and contentless. We left early as did a lot of other people. Very disappointed.

  • Sooooo very disappointed!!!🙁🙁🙁

by Jo on 1/13/20Landmark Theatre - SyracuseRating: 1 out of 5

Had a very rude man sitting behind us, who said every line of movie very loudly and just before character did!! Chevy Chase had no business charging for that!! He couldn’t even REMEMBER the movie!! He should have come out wearing a Xmas sweater and the moose mug!!

  • Very poor, Interviewer was uninteresting and Chevy was sick

by Joe on 1/6/20Akron Civic Theatre - AkronRating: 1 out of 5

This show was poor to say the least, I have 500.00 in bringing my family and the movie had to be started over due to malfunction. They came out and said they were gonna lower their bigger screen now. Why wouldn't they have used that from the start? The interviewer they chose was from a newspaper and as far as I could tell had very limited knowledge on Chevy Chase and was too young to relate to him. Chevy himself looked very sickly and should re-consider doing future shows. It was embarassing to watch and a complete waste of money.

  • No place for a selfie?

by WasIReallyThere on 1/2/20Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

We really enjoyed the movie and interview with Chevy. My only complaint is that there was not a single place at the event that attendees could take a photo in front of to indicate that they were there. The event would be shown on displays for about 20 seconds as they cycled through about 20 other events that would be at the location in the future. While this may seem small, the event was not cheap so it would have been nice to be able to get that personal momento that we attended.

Excellent! Had so much fun! Admire Chevy for doing the tour with his health conditions.

  • Not Worth The $$

by M. N. on 1/2/20Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - RaleighRating: 2 out of 5

I would be willing to give this 3 stars if the ticket price wasn’t so steep for what you actually get. Watched the movie in full followed by Chevy Chase doing an interview of sorts. A couple of old and funny stories but mostly he kept forgetting and stumbling through the interview. Not worth the expensive ticket price.

  • Hilarious from beginning to end

by KS on 1/2/20Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

Everything was great, from watching the movie to the Q&A with Chevy Chase. My only complaint, the sound for the movie was awful. I'm assuming the treble was too high. Every tiny noise hurt our ears.. my dad actually had to turn his hearing aids off and some people behind us had their hands over their ears the whole time.

  • Amazing Night With A Legend

by Matt E on 1/2/20Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

This event was well coordinated & Chevy was awesome. It was worth every dime I paid & I am so glad we bought tickets & went!

  • Poor seat quality

by Jman on 1/2/20Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - RaleighRating: 2 out of 5

The seats at the venue were not the original seats in the theater. The seats were fold out seats that were very uncomfortable. My issue is that these were 70.00 seats and there was no indication that these seats were not normal seats.

  • Incoherent Chevy

by Nick L on 1/2/20Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts - RaleighRating: 2 out of 5

Although it was fun to watch the movie on the big screen and see Chevy in person, it was extremely difficult to watch Chevy. His mind is slipping and was often times incoherent. The money was a bit of a waste.

  • Extremely Disappointed

by Bena on 12/28/19Akron Civic Theatre - AkronRating: 2 out of 5

The movie was great! I've seen it many times and it always makes me laugh. Its afterwards that disappointed me. Chevy Chase came on stage disheveled and very sloppy. He had a negative attitude towards the interviewer and it was obvious he wasn't happy being there. Chevy was forgetful and talking nonsense. He was rude and even walked off the stage to "go pee". During his 15 minute disappearance, people began leaving the show. I was extremely disappointed in him.

  • Neat experience!

by Amber on 12/27/19Akron Civic Theatre - AkronRating: 4 out of 5

It was cool watching the classic movie on a big screen. Its our favorite Christmas one of all time. The Q&A afterwards was really neat. The only thing that we didn't really liks was the "meet and greet" we paid extra for after the show was pretty much a 3 second hello and a quick snap of a picture. I was hoping for at least a few minutes of getting to talk with Chevy for $100 a person. Also, it was very unorganized. I think it was just the location though and nothing through fault of his. We were almost first by the door and there were lots of people that cut in front of us because they didnt have a rope or official line. The poor girls that were letting people in were young and quiet so nothing was said to anyone. They also took our purses and coats to the back and then shut the doors before we could get back ourselves. I did not feel comfortable with that. Then as we left they didnt even ask which was ours, it was all on a table for anyone to grab what they wanted. The meet and greet was the worst part and not worth the money in my opinion. Everything else was fun though and we had a blast! So all in all it was a great evening!

  • Not worth the money

by PJZ on 12/26/19Akron Civic Theatre - AkronRating: 1 out of 5

1/3 of the movie was projected on the wrong screen. The moderator was unable to carry conversation. Chevy spent most of the Q&A talking about other movies and unrelated material. I’m disappointed with the amount of money we spent on a night we won’t remember as enjoyable.

  • National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation Q & A With Chevy

by CLynch on 12/26/19Akron Civic Theatre - AkronRating: 5 out of 5

We enjoyed the movie and the ushers were so nice to make the experience nicer. But the Q & A part was not what I expected especially when he walked off the stage.
