  • Very Sad

    by T7 on 8/21/25Rating: 2 out of 5

Wanted this to be great but was very disappointing. Chevy could barely speak, couldn’t remember any details of the questions that were asked by the moderator. His wife eventually came out to join them and she told stories. I didn’t pay good money to hear her stories that may or may not have involved Chevy.

  • About What I expected....

I went into this experience knowing Chevy Chase was 81 years old. So I figured I wouldn't have the greatest and best time of my life. I paid for the VIP meet and greet. I dont think I have ever seen Christmas Vacation in the theater (it came out in 1989, so I would have been 12), so that was an experience, especially with people who knew it so well. Walking in I knew I was going to be disappointed in the meet and greet, since I saw the company who was running it (Standing Ovations--more on them later) The movie itself was funny, the question and answer part went about as I expected. (as stated on other reviews) the wife came out and helped guide/remind Chevy of some of his answers. I suspected going in, it was going to be alot of rambling answers, a few raunchy and questionable topics and just a strange situation. Went exactly as I suspected. The meet and greet is where I knew I was going to be disappointed. I spent over $300 for VIP/meet and greet and was told up front no selfies/videos etc (understand that, they have a professional photographer) but then they said nothing to get signed. (this is what upset me more) After seeing Chevy I sort of understood, but I would have liked them to at least given us something that was signed instead of us having to buy something at the Souvenir stand for $100 more instead. I mainly went for the SNL ties (he was an original cast member and first to EVER say "Live from New York, it is Saturday Night") than the Christmas Vacation anyways. Sad to see Chevy like that but mostly went to have the experience to meet him , just wasn't happy about cost.

You really want this to be good. It’s a great movie and be used to be a great actor. He’s 81 years old and is experiencing memory loss. Thank goodness for the moderator and his wife helping him out

  • Show night

Enjoyable. After all the problems and hours getting tickets, seeing the people at the ticket counter was great. Next time I will not use my phone to get ticlets.

Some adult humor noted. Interesting history of a life long career.

  • Event was great!

What I was disappointed in is the fact that I had purchased tickets. Then there was a contest to win tickets, which I entered but did not win. I know odds are that many entered and only one person won. I get that. But after the contest - I received an email to purchase tickets for 40% off. Would have been nice to know that before I bought my tickets. Because everything is expensive anymore and saving anything is helpful.

  • Chevy Chase

It was a really fun night. Got to see my one and only annual Christmas movie and seeing Chevy Chase live was a great experience. I always see him as the 40 something actor in all of his movies but he, too ages. It was a lot of fun seeing the way his wife and he interacted. All in all a really good experience.

  • Pleasantly surprised!

I've been to a few of these movie screenings with an actor and the actor rushes through the Q&A or doesn't seem that into it, but that was absolutely not the case with this show! Chevy Chase was amazing! It was very well thought out as they had a moderator and a seating area set up on stage for them, they went through a lot of questions and we got to hear some great stories. Chevy Chase was funny, engaging, and really made the event worth it!

  • Disappointed I didn't get to meet Chevy

by Deb on 12/19/24Peoria Civic Center Theater - PeoriaRating: 3 out of 5

I purchased tickets believing they were VIP and it ended up they did not. Yes, I love Chevy's movie and his contribution to entertaining us. Yet, I wish I could have met him. Thank you.

For the cost of the photo op to not be spoken to acknowledged was just ridiculous. I will never do that again. Also the Q&A after the movie was all over the place. He should not be doing live events. He spoke of things that were totally irrelevant to the movie and it was borderline uncomfortable.
