About

CHEAP TRICK IN CONCERT:

More than four decades after their debut, hard rock titans Cheap Trick continue to possess the same energy and flair that made them an arena rock staple in the '70s. The band has enjoyed an unbroken run ever since their formation in 1973, and it's easy to see why — their chemistry on stage is undeniable, and they clearly have a blast as they treat fans to nostalgic performances of classics like "Surrender" and "The Flame." Back on the road in 2014 with fellow hard rockers Boston, Cheap Trick will bring their signature high-energy show to fans around the country on a string of highly anticipated dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in Illinois in 1973, Cheap Trick recorded demos and toured throughout the Midwest before releasing their self-titled 1977 debut. The album failed to find an audience in the US, but it earned them a fan base in Europe and Japan, setting the stage for their future popularity stateside. While sophomore album In Color contained their highly regarded single "I Want You To Want Me," the band didn't make it onto the US charts until "Surrender" was released as the lead single of 1978's Heaven Tonight. By the early '80s the band was selling out arenas around the globe, achieving their most significant popularity in Japan, where enthusiasm over their tours reached Beatlemania-esque proportions. With more than four decades of hard-rocking live shows under their belts, Cheap Trick will bring plenty of veteran know-how with them on their upcoming tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"After 40 years of constant touring and albums, Cheap Trick still rocks! They put on an amazing show with lots of energy. They interacted with the audience and seem so accessible to the crowd."

"Real blast from the past. They haven't slowed down a bit and rocked the house."

"As always, Cheap Trick put on an awesome show. Robin Zander is the best lead singer on the planet & the playlist was great."

  • Cheap Trick is a Dream...Milwaukee, WI

    by Rockchickidee on 2/14/11Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

Went to the Cheap Trick Dream Police Concert at Northern Lights Theater. Not a bad seat in the house. It was Robin, Rick, and Tom. Dax, Ricks son is on Drums. Bun E. is not currently touring with the band. All I can say is that if you are a "Cheap Trick" fan from the early days, you will NOT be disappointed. I am sure they are going to take this tour out on the road, or at least to other small venues.

This was one of the best shows I've ever seen. The venue is amazing, and the production put into this show was spectacular. Very up close and personal and the band sounded amazing. It was great to see Rick's kids playing in the band as well.

  • Awesome Show

Awesome show, 3rd row ctr couldn't have asked for a better seat. Cheap Trick still has it, preformed for almost 2 hours straight. Would pay the $90.00 to see them again... Packed house.

The band still sounds great and plays amazing music. The casino has an intimate setting and is a great place to see a show. I'll pop for lower level seats next time I see a concert here.

Great Concert, They did the entire Dream Police album followed by some new and many old favorites. We had seen them in vegas doing Sgt. Peppers, this show was very close to Sgt Peppers. Theater is also very nice, hard to beleive you are in the middle of a Casino. Table service for drinks is a nice feature. Great experience, get tickets if you can and enjoy.

  • Dream Police show Milwaukee BEST EVER!!

    by cheapchick11 on 2/7/11Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

The show was almost 2 hours, Robin is at the TOP of his game and sounded beyond amazing. Rick was full of energy as always. Not only did Tom look freaking hot as hell in his velvet, he had a smile on his face the entire concert. The boys were UP, had incrediable energy and the concert was one of the best I have seen in forever. The Bombastics ruled and the set list was sweet.

  • Cheap Trick - The Wall

    by kansas666 on 2/1/11Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

We saw Cheap Trick Saturday night at the Northern Lights Theater inside Potawatomi Casino in Milwaukee. Wow! what a spectacle. They put on a huge multimedia event with The Rhythmic Noise Philharmonic Orchestra & Mind Choir. There was a video wall about 10 feet high behind the band. Above the wall were the orchestra and choir. The wall extended to the ceiling behind the orchestra. We could also see another section of the wall above the orchestra coming down from just behind the procemium arch. Before the show there was a webcam in the green room showing the band prepping. The concert began with some multimedia, documentary and old footage of the band projected throughout the venue. Then the backline consisting of Daxx Nielsen on Drums, Miles Nielsen on rhythm guitar, the keyboardist (didn't catch his name)with the orchestra and choir performed Heaven Tonight with Miles on lead vocals. What a cool way to start the show. Then Cheap Trick came out and they performed the entire Dream Police album. The show was almost sensory overload with everything going on at once. The band was in top form and sounded great. The orchestra conductor was like a circus ringmaster. The choir was 3 teenage boys dressed in retro suits and everything sounded clear as a bell. Kudos to whomever was running sound. With that much going on it's amazing everything was as clear as it was. The wall itself was pretty amazing with all sorts of things being projected throughout the show. A couple of times when the orchestra wasn't playing, the top of the wall came down in front of the orchestra and we had a 20' by 40' wall completely filling the stage projecting images behind the band. After Dream Police, they performed a few classics and rare gems. I understand that that portion of the show changes from night to night. They are performing 12 nights at Norhtern Lights and we caught the fourth night. I highly recommend catching this show if you have the chance.

    by JoeM524 on 1/31/11Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

Cheap Trick in this type of setting is fantastic. They had the crowd in thier hands all night. Robin has not lost his voice at all. Playing with the The Bombastic Symphonic Philharmonic With The Rhythmic Noise Mind Choir was fantastic. Rick can sure play and his family in the band were the best

  • Cheap Trick IS the best Amerian Band...ever!

    by m2squared on 1/31/11Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

From the opening surge to the closing blast, Cheap Trick again proved they are one of the most talented, creative, fun & exciting bands ever to grace (well, not in a fussy way) a stage. Go for the music and this iconic band in an intimate, comfortable and creative setting you won't soon forget. (And hope the NLT will bring the Sgt. Pepper's show from LV next).
