CHEAP TRICK IN CONCERT:
More than four decades after their debut, hard rock titans Cheap Trick continue to possess the same energy and flair that made them an arena rock staple in the '70s. The band has enjoyed an unbroken run ever since their formation in 1973, and it's easy to see why — their chemistry on stage is undeniable, and they clearly have a blast as they treat fans to nostalgic performances of classics like "Surrender" and "The Flame." Back on the road in 2014 with fellow hard rockers Boston, Cheap Trick will bring their signature high-energy show to fans around the country on a string of highly anticipated dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Formed in Illinois in 1973, Cheap Trick recorded demos and toured throughout the Midwest before releasing their self-titled 1977 debut. The album failed to find an audience in the US, but it earned them a fan base in Europe and Japan, setting the stage for their future popularity stateside. While sophomore album In Color contained their highly regarded single "I Want You To Want Me," the band didn't make it onto the US charts until "Surrender" was released as the lead single of 1978's Heaven Tonight. By the early '80s the band was selling out arenas around the globe, achieving their most significant popularity in Japan, where enthusiasm over their tours reached Beatlemania-esque proportions. With more than four decades of hard-rocking live shows under their belts, Cheap Trick will bring plenty of veteran know-how with them on their upcoming tour.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"After 40 years of constant touring and albums, Cheap Trick still rocks! They put on an amazing show with lots of energy. They interacted with the audience and seem so accessible to the crowd."
"Real blast from the past. They haven't slowed down a bit and rocked the house."
"As always, Cheap Trick put on an awesome show. Robin Zander is the best lead singer on the planet & the playlist was great."

We had a great time cheap trick still sounds great. Put on a good show. We appreciate them coming to Knoxville Tennessee.
We come to concerts there often and the sound is awesome in theater. But not this time. We sat left balcony, the sound was just awful to 5 out of 6 of us and the # 6 was pretty lit so..lol. We are all for loud music but not at the expense of Sound!
Really nice venue, and Cheap Trick is always a fun show. This was maybe my 4th time seeing them, and was nice to see them as the headliner. Every previous time seeing them they were an opening act. The event staff (security) could have been more accommodating after the show for fans looking for some of the picks that Rick tossed out into the crowd. They were very pushy to get people to leave. Security could have been easily maintained while allowing fans who paid big $$$ to look on the floor of the 1st couple of rows after the show.
They did a great show! Was so happy to see them close to home. Will definitely attend again if they come back soon
I’ve seen Cheap Trick a number of times. Always a 5 star show. I was excited to hear songs I only heard on the Albums, but never Live. This time was different. They played a whole of B-sides. And that was amazing. Robin’s voice was Top Notch! And his son was a good addition to the band! I do not miss Bun E. At all. Fantasy Show!
One of the best concerts I've attended in recent years . Rick Nielson , Robin Zander , Tom Petersson ,Daxx Nielson , Taylor Zander delivered an awesome night of music . All the well known hits and several less played standout tracks from the catalog of Cheap Trick music , group of eight of us attended the show and it was unanimous! Stellar . Tennessee Theater is a great venue and the staff is great!
Great concert and great venue! So much fun and great hosts/hostesses~
Cheap Trick puts on a great show. Very little talkin, but a whole lotta rockin'. The lead singer sounds just like he did 40 years ago. Great show!
I have seen Cheap Trick live twice in the past and Robin Zander solo once, at different venues. Every time, the sound was always fantastic and each instrument and vocals clean and crisp. At this show, we knew while listening to the pre-show music, that speakers were blown, at least stage left, where we were. The horrible sound continued when the band went on stage, with speakers crackling and muddy. Whoever was running the soundboard was not or could not help the situation. The mix was very bad. Could not hear the lows, like the bass, while the highs, especially vocals, were cutting out. It was nice to visually see the band on stage, but that was about it. So disappointed to pay $200 for two tickets, to drive two hours each way, just to attend the worst sounding show I've ever experienced. We will never go to The Tennessee Theatre again.
Cheap Trick's March 18th Knoxville concert was absolutely great!! The band always puts on an amazing show and after all of these years still comes across fresh and energetic!! Do not miss Cheap Trick, they are truly one of the best bands ever!!
What a great show!! We thoroughly enjoyed it! The band was teriffic & brought back great memories.
Cheap Trick was incredible and fun !!! If you get a chance, do yourself a favor and GO!!
The venue is really nice, my first time there. I enjoyed the show and Robin's voice was great. Hope to go back to venue again.
Great show, sounded great and awesome set list. Just wished they played a few more of the older songs like Cmon C’mon, Need Your Love, etc.
Robin and Rick never disappoint and I love that they have both of their sons touring with them these days A fresh new sound to all of my old favorites
Cheap Trick sounds as good now as they did way back in the day! Their musical abilities have not been affected by many trips around the sun! I went with a group of friends, and we all had a fabulous time. They put on a killer show!
Cheap trick put on a good show! The only negative about the performance was the sound was distorted in the balcony. The guitars overpowered the vocals. The acoustics were a lot better on the main level. If I were to visit this venue again, I would purchase tickets for seats on the main floor level. : )
Was a fun show. They sang their hits and played well. Was a fun show
Exactly what I was hoping for. Amazing they're still cranking out quality music. Robin's voice was great. I'd see them again in a heartbeat.
